Ni-Ki's footsteps echoed through the empty corridors of the practice facility, the only sound breaking the silence as he made his way to yet another grueling rehearsal. Despite the bright lights and polished floors, there was an undeniable sense of darkness that hung in the air, a heaviness that weighed on Ni-Ki's shoulders like a burden too heavy to bear.
As he entered the practice room, he was met with a cold glare from the managers, their eyes filled with thinly veiled disdain. "Ni-Ki, we're starting without you. Again," one of them snapped, their voice dripping with contempt.
Ni-Ki's heart sank as he hurried to join the others, his cheeks burning with shame as he felt the weight of their judgment bearing down on him. But he pushed aside his feelings of inadequacy, forcing a smile onto his face as he prepared to dance.
As the music filled the room and the choreography began, Ni-Ki threw himself into the routine with all the energy he could muster, determined to prove himself worthy of his place in the group. But no matter how hard he tried, it never seemed to be enough.
The managers watched from the sidelines, their eyes cold and calculating as they picked apart every flaw in Ni-Ki's performance. "You're offbeat. Again," one of them sneered, their words like daggers to Ni-Ki's already fragile ego.
But he bit back the tears that threatened to spill from his eyes, refusing to let them see how much their words hurt. He had grown accustomed to their criticism, their belittling remarks a constant reminder of his perceived inadequacy.
And so, he danced on, pushing himself past the point of exhaustion in a desperate bid to prove himself. But no matter how hard he tried, it was never enough.
As the hours dragged on and the sun dipped below the horizon, Ni-Ki felt the familiar ache of hunger gnawing at his stomach, but he pushed it aside, too afraid to speak up lest he be met with further scorn.
He was used to being starved, to being overworked and underappreciated. It was overwhelming, suffocating even, but he sucked it up, determined not to disappoint any more people, especially not his hyungs.
For their sake, he would endure. He would persevere. And maybe, just maybe, one day they would see him for who he truly was: not just the youngest member of Enhypen, but a talented and capable performer in his own right.
But until then, he would continue to dance in the shadows, a silent reminder of the price of perfection in a world that demanded nothing less.
Ni-Ki trudged through the dimly lit hallways of his international school, his footsteps heavy with exhaustion as he struggled to keep his eyes open. The weight of his backpack pressed down on his shoulders like a burden too heavy to bear, each step a painful reminder of the relentless pressure bearing down on him from all sides.
As he entered the classroom, he could feel the weight of his classmates' expectations bearing down on him like a suffocating blanket. They were all so effortlessly intelligent, breezing through assignments and exams with ease while Ni-Ki struggled to keep up.
Back in Japan, he had never been the smartest student. He would skip school for dance events and practice sessions, his passion for performance overshadowing his dedication to academics. But now, in the unforgiving environment of the international school, his lack of academic prowess was more glaring than ever.
He would finish his overwhelming schedules with Enhypen, pouring every ounce of his energy into dance rehearsals and promotional activities, only to drag himself to school at the crack of dawn, his body crying out for rest.
But rest was a luxury Ni-Ki could ill afford. With insomnia causing him suffer night after night, sleep was little more than a distant dream, a cruel reminder of the exhaustion that consumed him.
And so, he soldiered on, his determination to succeed driving him forward even as his body begged for mercy. He would study late into the night, his eyelids heavy with fatigue as he poured over textbooks and lecture notes, desperate to keep up with his classmates.
But no matter how hard he tried, it was never enough. The academic demands of the international school were relentless, their expectations sky-high and unforgiving. And as the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months, Ni-Ki felt himself slipping further and further behind, his dreams of academic success fading into obscurity.
But still, he refused to give up. For the sake of his hyungs, for the sake of his own pride, he would persevere. He would endure the sleepless nights and the overwhelming stress, determined to prove himself worthy of his place in the group.
But deep down, he couldn't shake the feeling that no matter how hard he tried, he would always be just one step behind. And as he stared out at the world through eyes heavy with exhaustion, he couldn't help but wonder if it was a battle he was destined to lose.
Ni-Ki's once vibrant energy began to wane, his movements growing sluggish and his smile forced. Despite his best efforts to hide his declining health, the toll it took on his body was impossible to ignore.
He became adept at masking his exhaustion, forcing himself to dance with a false sense of vigor even as his muscles screamed in protest. But behind closed doors, he wilted, his body withering away under the weight of his relentless schedule.
His hyungs, consumed by their own struggles, failed to notice the subtle changes in Ni-Ki's appearance. His baby cheeks, once a source of playful teasing, now served as a mask to conceal the hollowed-out shell of the boy beneath.
Sunoo, Jake, and Heeseung, the ones closest to him, remained oblivious to his plight, too caught up in their own lives to see the suffering hidden in Ni-Ki's eyes. And as the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months, Ni-Ki grew ever more adept at hiding his pain, his smile becoming a shield to protect himself from the judgment and disappointment he feared.
But beneath the appearance Ni-Ki kept up , He was crumbling. His once hearty appetite had vanished, replaced by a gnawing emptiness that refused to be filled. The managers, oblivious to his struggles, continued to push him beyond his limits, their demands relentless and unforgiving.
And so, Ni-Ki found himself trapped in a vicious cycle of self-destruction. He would force himself to eat, only to vomit it up mere minutes later, his body rejecting the nourishment it so desperately needed. And with each passing day, he grew weaker, his spirit dimming as his health deteriorated.
But still, he refused to give up. For the sake of his hyungs, for the sake of his dreams, he would endure. He would push himself to the brink and beyond, determined to prove his worth through sheer perseverance.
But deep down, he knew that the battle he fought was one he could never win. And as he stared out at the world through hollow eyes, he couldn't help but wonder if it was a price he was willing to pay.
Ni-Ki's heart sank with each passing day, the weight of his hyungs' and managers' expectations pressing down on him like a suffocating blanket. Despite his best efforts to hide his exhaustion and illness, they saw only laziness and incompetence, further fueling his feelings of inadequacy.
Their constant comments echoed in his mind like a relentless mantra, each one a dagger to his already fragile spirit. "You need to work harder," they would say, their voices sharp with disappointment. "Don't be lazy," they would admonish, their words cutting deeper with each passing day. And worst of all, "Why train your whole life just to be like this?" they would ask, their words a painful reminder of his perceived failure.
Ni-Ki tried to push aside the hurt and frustration, burying himself in his work in a desperate bid to prove himself worthy of their praise. He danced until his muscles screamed in protest, pushed himself until he could barely stand, all in the hope that maybe, just maybe, they would see him for who he truly was.
But no matter how hard he tried, it was never enough. The pressure to prove himself only intensified, driving Ni-Ki to extremes as he hid his suffering behind a facade of resilience. He smiled through the pain, laughed through the tears, all while the weight of their expectations bore down on him like a crushing weight.
And as the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months, Ni-Ki felt himself growing ever more numb to the pain. He didn't think his eyes could produce any more tears, didn't think his heart could bear any more disappointment.
But still, he soldiered on, determined to prove himself worthy of their love and acceptance, even as he felt himself slipping further and further away from the person he once was. And as he stared out at the world through eyes filled with exhaustion and despair, he couldn't help but wonder if maybe, just maybe, it was time to let go of the dreams that had brought him so much pain.
Ni-Ki's body trembled with exhaustion as he danced, each movement a grueling effort to keep himself upright. But despite his best efforts, he could feel his strength waning, his limbs growing heavier with each passing moment.
And then, without warning, it was too much. His legs gave out beneath him, sending him crashing to the ground in a heap of limbs and shattered dreams. The pain was unbearable, a searing agony that consumed him from within as darkness closed in around him.
"Ni-Ki! Are you okay?" Sunghoon exclaimed, his hands shaking as he reached out to touch Ni-Ki's shoulder.
Ni-Ki could barely muster a response, his breaths coming in ragged gasps as he struggled to remain conscious. "I-I'm sorry..." he whispered, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Ni-Ki, what happened?!" Jungwon demanded, his eyes wide with fear as he knelt beside his fallen friend.
As he lay there, his consciousness slipping away, he heard the faint sound of his hyungs' voices calling out to him, their words a distant echo in the recesses of his mind. But try as he might, he couldn't find the strength to respond, couldn't muster the energy to lift himself from the abyss into which he had fallen.
And so, he surrendered to the darkness, his body going limp as he drifted into unconsciousness, Ni-Ki couldn't help but feel a sense of bitter resignation wash over him.
It all hurt so much. The physical pain was nothing compared to the ache in his heart, the knowledge that his hyungs and managers had failed him in his time of need. But as he closed his eyes and let the darkness consume him, he couldn't help but wonder if maybe, just maybe, it was time to let go of the pain and find peace in the silence that awaited him.
The hospital room was filled with a heavy silence, broken only by the steady beeping of machines and the muted voices of the news anchors on the television. The members of Enhypen gathered around Ni-Ki's bed, their faces drawn with guilt and regret as they grappled with the weight of their actions.
"Would this really be the end for Nishimura Riki?" the news anchor's voice echoed through the room, a grim reminder of the reality they faced. "How much has he been suffering? How have the Enhypen members been treating their dongsaeng?"
The words hung in the air like a dark cloud, casting a shadow over the once vibrant group. Each member looked to Ni-Ki, their hearts heavy with remorse as they reflected on their own actions.
How long had he been suffering? It was a question that weighed heavily on each of them, a painful reminder of the neglect and mistreatment Ni-Ki had endured in their midst.
But as they looked upon their unconscious friend, hooked up to machines and fighting for his life, they knew that they couldn't change the past. All they could do was pray for his recovery and vow to do better in the future.
And as they stood together in the dimly lit hospital room, the bond between them stronger than ever, they knew that whatever the future held, they would face it together, as a family.
For Ni-Ki, for Riki, and for each other.
"Ni-Ki's intentions were clear: he longed to slip away from the world and never wake up."

Request: Hi! Thank you for opening up reqs, Ive read all your stories so far and loved them. It's been a wonderful time reading such fics and I hope you'll consider my req as well!
Niki X Everyone, Angst and Hurt/Comfort, Sickfic
Base plot goes:
Niki is neglected by the managers because they think he is unworthy of his spot in the group. (Purposely forgetting to buy his share of food, giving him longer practice hours, etc. Basically they're overworking him and mistreating him)
For the sake of more angst, I would love if you could make him attend an international school. International schools and Korean schools are different in that the curriculum for international schools are a tad bit harsher than Korean schools. The international school requires him to attend school for at least 3h/day and follows a grade by assignment procedure. This means that they look at classwork, homework, attendance, extracurricular, etc. to determine one's overall grade at the end of the school semester. As a result, Niki has no choice but to go to school either in the wee hours of the morning, or in between schedules. The only exception being when he is overseas, for which he will have to attend online school, and upload his assignments in order to not fall behind.
Of course, this catches up to him. He is overworked, exhausted and just entirely beaten. However, since he is often a ball of energy and "annoying" his hyungs, his hyungs think nothing of it and even starts to get frustrated at this "child". Therefore, when he starts to really come down with something (Fever w vomiting would be nice) his hyungs just start to think he is slacking and ignores him. So, he thinks that he has to work harder to prove himself to his hyungs and show he is worthy of his position in the group, forcing himself past his limits, hiding his sickness for almost a full week before he eventually loses consciousness in the practice room. Prior to losing consciousness, he had been up for almost 48hrs due to semestral exams as well as promotions, without so much of a minute to just breathe. He had also been skipping meals for the past 3 days, living on plain water due to lack of appetite.
Ending is open. Would love as angsty an ending as possible.
Urm, sorry my reqs tend to have a great load of detail. I know people will ask why I don't just write it myself. I do, I just don't post it and enjoy reading multiple renditions of similar plots.
Its completely fine to not write it!!! Thank you for reading this far, I REALLY ENJOY YOUR FICS! Thank you so much for contributing! You've made my day better witth just your writing so thank you, I appreciate it. Hope you have a great day everyday!
A/N: I really did try to not add dialouge to this mainly because I have read fanfiction with this type of setting and it tends to be short and consistent but no dialogue. Is this a good open ending? Sorry if its not the best <3
