It was the first of September. I remember this day so clearly. It was my first day at Hogwarts.

I had already cried once, fearing the fact I wouldn't see my mother and father until Christmas.

I didn't know anyone. My mother was a muggle, and my father was a wizard. My father wasn't much of an extrovert, he only had a couple friends. The friends who had gotten married and had children sent those children to Beauxbatons. They claimed it was "better." I highly disagreed.

And my mother of course did not know any wizard familiesโ€”for obvious reasons.

I had forgotten about my sadness once I met my first friend. A brown haired boy was talking to a large group of people. He seemed to already have many friends.

He turned to me and smiled. "What about you?" He asked me proudly. I raised an eyebrows and fiddled with my robe.

"I'm sorry?" I asked softly, cocking my head to the side. He grinned, and put his hands in his pockets.

"What house do ya' wanna be in? Me personally Hufflepuff. My dad was in it." He told me leaning against a large pillar that reached from the ceiling to the floor.

I shrugged. "My dad was in Ravenclaw.. but Hufflepuff sounds cooler." I answered smiling happily. I obviously thought Ravenclaw was cooler, but decided lying was the best for this situation.

He grinned excitedly and looked over at his friends proudly. "My friends want to be in Slytherin. I said no because Hufflepuff is cooler. They said they didn't believe me."

I nodded slowly. "Interesting story. My name is Y/n." I told him reaching my hand out. The corner of his mouth lifted into a smile as he shook my hand.

"Cedric. Nice to meet you, Y/n."

Six years later, me and Cedric were still the best of friends. I stayed the summer at his house. I lived in the city, while he lived in a quiet cottage deep in the forest. While I loved the city, his home was so.. him. Everything about it reminded me of him, the yellow accents, the happy vibe, the brightly colored flowers. Everything.

We had slept in every morning, and stayed out in the forest all night hunting fireflies. He would tell me we were acting too childish, but still enjoyed every little bit of it.

It sadly ended after the many months of joy. I almost cried. Almost. Cedric was more bummed than me. He loved summer, it is his personal favorite. I believe the main reason for his admiration is the fact we don't have school. He despises school.

I don't mind it to much. Sure, long potion lessons with Professor Snape are bad, and the seemingly endless amounts of homework. But I was with my friendsโ€”and the jello. I adored the jello at meal times.

We were now headed to meet the Weasleys for some Quidditch World Cup. I enjoyed watching my friends play, but never enjoyed playing myself. (I, as well, was a terrible broom rider.)

We walked through a long, luscious forest. I ran my hand along the rough skin of the trees, peering up at the radiant sun. "Looks like Arthur is late." Amos Diggory, Cedric's father, muttered as he pulled out his golden pocket watch.

"Pity, we will have to wait." He said in a sing-song voice,  stuffing the golden watch back into his pocket. Cedric was already busy climbing up a large oak tree.

"What are you doing?" I asked, judgment coating my voice, as I looked up at him. He ignored me and leaned against the tree, closing his eyes.

"Relaxing, you should try it." He murmured, opening and eye, only to wink it at me.

I shrugged and sat down on the dirt, leaning against the tree as well. Minutes had past before we finally heard the bickering sound of the Weasleys.

I was friends with Fred and George, always thought they were funny. I hadn't ever really chatted with Ron before, but he was seemingly nice.

Ginny was nice as well, she always complimented me, which I greatly appreciated. I heard they're were two older Weasley siblings, but I didn't really know them.

I sat up and pulled on Cedric's leg, almost yanking him from the tree. He quickly opened his eyes and playfully kicked my hand away.

I stuck my tongue out at him and stood beside his father. I looked behind the tall redhead in front of me.

I first saw Fred and George shoving each other playfully. They're hair had grown drastically, and each one were incredibly tall for their ages. (All the Weasleys wereโ€”I might add.)

Behind them was Ron Weasley and a close friend of mine, Harry Potter. We had become friends in the library one afternoon. Two older boys were taunting him, calling him utterly rude names.

At first I tried sending them a warning glare, but they just laughed it off and continued the act. Harry looked embarrassed and awkward. That was when I stepped in.

I said some pretty less than pleasant thingsโ€”which I will admit I do regret. One of the boys transferred to Durmstrang, while the other has barely any friends anymoreโ€”from what I've heard of course.

Behind the two sleepy boys was Hermione Granger and Ginny. Hermione seemed kind, and rather feisty. I've seen her smacking the boys arms with multiple newspaper rolls before.

I have had a couple conversations with her before, but never truly got to know her.

Cedric jumped down from the tree beside me, nudging my shoulder before walking beside his dad. "This strapping young man must be Cedric, am I right?" Arthur exclaimed happily, reaching his large hand out for Cedric to shake.

"Yes sir." Cedric replied proudly, a grin spread across his face. I chuckled and turned to Arthur. "It's nice to see you again, Mr. Weasley." I said politely.

Arthur chuckled. "No need for such proper titles my dear girl, Arthur will do." He told me, patting my arm with a flat smile.

I smiled and nodded before looking at the twins. "Hello Sunriser." They cheered in sync, shooting me a wink. I heard Cedric scoff, and mutter something under his breath.

Fred seemed to hear this, and raised his orange eyebrow. I ignored it, knowing if it was important Cedric would've said it louderโ€”like he normally did.

"You two have gotten tall." I said with a smile. George rolled his eyes, and stepped slightly in front of his brother.

"Haven't we always been? Or is it that we've always been taller than you." He teased. I chuckled, and walked down the path with the two of them at my side, while Cedric trailed behind, mumbling angry things under his breath.

                              โœพโ˜˜๏ธŽ๏ธŽโ™›โ˜ผเผ„ยซโ€ข~

"Well they were bloody annoying." Cedric muttered as we entered our very large tent we would be staying in.

I raised an eyebrow. "How so? I thought they were nice. Very funny as wellโ€”and tall." I told him reaching for a piece of parchment out of my bag.

Cedric scoffed and sat beside me. "They're were only being nice because they fancy you." He muttered. I gave Cedric I look, and flattened out the parchment onto the wooden table.

"Just because a boy is nice to me, doesn't mean they fancy me. You for example." I replied, taking out a quill and ink.

Cedric sighed and placed his forehead on the table. "Iโ€”I guess." He muttered quietly. I frowned and lifted his face up by the ends of his hair, gently, of course.

"Don't worry, Ced. I still love you more. You are my best friend, they are just regular friends. Like Blake Grott and Eli Sanchez." I told him, mentioning two other male friends I had.

He smiled and reached his pinky out. "Always?" He asked softly, his lips turning into a grin. I giggled and shook pinky's with him.

"And forever." I finished before his dad bursted into the room.

"We've got to go! We've got to go!" His dad chanted as he stuffed a jacket, a water pouch, and a pocket watch into satchel before slinging it over his shoulder.

I nodded and shoved a green sweater over my head, obviously to celebrate the Irish.

Cedric threw on a regular beige sweater and followed me and his dad out the door. "Merlin it's crowded." I muttered taking Cedric's wrist in my hand to not risk getting lost.

He chuckled and reached his fingers to latch onto my hand. "You look.. basic." I told him raising an eyebrow at him. He shrugged, "I'm not one to dress up." He told me.

I shrugged as well and followed him and Amos to our seats.

                               โœพโ˜˜๏ธŽ๏ธŽโ™›โ˜ผเผ„ยซโ€ข~

I landed heavily on the floor, my body covered in sweat, and my mind racing.

That Quidditch match truly took a turn for the worst. Death eaters stormed the land, and a giant snake-skull thing appeared in the sky.

Cedric grabbed my hand and pulled me towards where Amos was, near a port key. We immediately left, and here we were.

I looked over at Cedric, who was already on his feet reaching his hand out for me to grab. "What just happened." I muttered bitterly as I rubbed my head, cringing at the amount of dirt and grass that had ended up in it.

He chuckled and took a small piece of grass out of my hair. "Thanks." I said back, smiling softly. He nodded and looked over at his father.

"What now?" Cedric asked his father. His father turned around and shook his head softly.

"I'm sure the ministry will have our things shipped back to usโ€”or Hogwarts for you two. Luckily you didn't pack to much, right?" Amos asked us, fiddling with the watch in his pocket.

I nodded. "I only packed a sweater and a couple snacks." I told him. It was true, I knew we weren't going to be there for long, and the tent already had the essential things stored inside.

Amos chuckled, and patted my shoulder before heading inside. "Well, we leave for Hogwarts tomorrow. Be ready early, seven sharp." He told us.

"Alright, we will." Cedric replied pushing the door open to his bedroom.

His bedroom was amazing. He had a large bed, with comfortable beige and grey blankets scattered all across it. He had plants near his window, but I had done the watering job. He said he only liked to look at them, not to take care of them.

He as well had many Hufflepuff things. Like a banner, his quidditch jersey hung upon his wall from the past years, and a badger stuffy.

He collapsed onto his bed while I sat at his desk. He had set up a makeshift vanity for me, with his mothers old mirror and a few containers for me to put my makeup items in.

I grabbed my hairbrush and began brushing my hair. "Are you excited?" I asked him. He straightened his posture on his bed, sitting his back upon the back wall.

"I guess. Not for potions, though." He disliked potions, but honestly, who didn't? I chuckled and set the hairbrush down, going over to his bed and sitting down.

"I'm excited to see Kaleigh and Matilda." I told him. He smiled softly at me, and threw his pillow at me.

Kaleigh Grottfoot, and Matilda Le Roux were my closest friends. (Besides Cedric, of course.) Cedric hated the both of them, he said that they were annoying.

I obviously disagreed. "Oh don't start, Ced. I hate your friend more than you hate mine." I replied crossing my arms, throwing the pillow back at him.

"Merlin Y/n, what's wrong with them?" He asked raising an eyebrow. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.

"Their annoying, they follow you around like lost puppiesโ€”"

"So do you!" Cedric cried raising his eyebrows. I rolled my eyes.

"I'm quite sure that it's flipped, Ceddie." I said raising an eyebrow. It was his turn to roll his eyes. "Now, if you'll let me continue, they aren't smart, they act like the morons in the American TV shows we watch. Finally, every time me and you are together around them, they chant "kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss!""

Cedric looked at me, a mix of emotions in his face. "Right. Well I don't like your friends beโ€”"

"I'm going to shower." I said smiling. He scoffed, and crossed his arms. I grinned and pecked his cheek before scurrying out of his room.

Little did I know, Cedric's cheeks had grown pinker than the gorgeous flowers in the field.
