• bubbly — jackie's a very outgoing, people person. she's often the one to light up a room and bring positivity into almost any situation
• sweet — she's very sweet and caring, she's willing to help anyone who needs it and provide support however she can
• disorganized — she can be a bit disorganized, her iphone calendar is the only thing that keeps her somewhat in check
• humble — jackie puts herself at the same level as anyone else. she's aware that she's a good person and good at her job, but she'd never hold that above anyone

backstory
childhood ; jackie grew up in a happy, loving home with two older siblings. being the youngest, she was sometimes left out, but she admired her brother and sister regardless. she and her sister were closer due to their ages and having girlhood in common, but she got along with her brother too. sometimes she was a bit favorited as the youngest, but her parents tried not to do that if they could help it
teenage years ; jackie had a great childhood until her mom was in a car accident when she was thirteen. her sister had been fifteen, her brother nearly nineteen. he had already moved out, so jackie only had her sister and dad. her dad was so heartbroken over the loss of his wife, turning to alcohol and barely sleeping at night. so jackie tried depending on her sister,  but she had somewhat isolated herself too, hanging out with friends and constantly being out of the house. her mom's accident had been the tragic ending to a police chase, which somehow made her want to become a cop.
adulthood ; jackie spent some time taking college classes and looking into different law enforcement careers. some years later she finally enrolled in the police academy and became a rookie when she was twenty four, learning under athena grant. after getting through the probationary period, she started working as a regular police officer, eventually starting to work toward become a detective. in 2023 she finally becomes a detective, which she very much enjoys doing

• harper cameron ( mother ) — she and her mom had a wonderful relationship until she died. she misses her a lot, especially during huge moments and milestones in her life, like getting married and having kids ( deceased - february 27, 2007 )
• samuel "sam" cameron ( father ) — she and her dad used to get along until after her mom died. then he became distant and an alcoholic, barely sober enough to go to work. they still talk sometimes now and he's involved in her and her children's lives, but she keeps him at arms length ( 4/10 relationship )
• athena grant ( mother figure ) — having spent over ten years without a mom at this point, jackie and athena become pretty close as they work together somewhat often over the years. they especially become close when things get serious with buck, as she's a huge mother figure to him too. she goes to her for just about anything and everything, whether it's needing advice or just to talk ( 10/10 relationship )

EVAN BUCKLEY
; buck and jackie meet in the beginning of season two and hit it off pretty easily after being introduced at a crime scene. there's some teasing (which is quite obviously flirting), athena and buck's coworkers from the 118 even watching with pure disbelief as they're trying to wrap up the scene. athena keeps this in mind, and she soon works something out for them to meet up again. once again they talk and get along great, buck asking her out and jackie accepting. things go great, they enjoy their relationship and somewhat take their time with things after buck had gone through a period of just bouncing around between women and sleeping around. he offers to have her move in soon after the tsunami, figuring life is short and why not just live together since it'd been almost a year anyway. he proposes a couple years later on the forth of july, and they planned for their wedding to be in november until maddie disappeared, so they put things on pause for the meantime. then jackie discovers she's pregnant in november, which buck is ecstatic about, and pretty soon jackie is too. they're relieved when maddie returns, revealing their news, though it's a bit obvious by that point. their daughter is born in july and they have a small wedding ceremony months later that november. they then decide to have another baby later after she settles into her detective position, going onto live a semi-normal life even with the dangerous situations their jobs put them through from time to time
