Nick knew something was up the minute he woke up the next morning.
Not only did he open his eyes an hour after class started, all of his uniform ensembles disappeared, so the man was forced to walk around in his superman-decorated pyjamas.
Nick cursed himself for choosing to wear those when he had a whole other collection to pick from.
It was 10:36 AM at this point, and he was kind of confused (and hurt) when no one came looking for him. He was absent from class, which never happens, shouldn't at least one person be worried? But that's besides the point.
"What the hell is going on?" Nick asked himself quietly.
"I'll tell you," another voice said. The boy took a step back in surprise, not expecting anyone to answer.
Abby walked out from the shadows (quite literally). "I'll tell you what happened, Nicholas; you pissed me off," she said. Nick raised an eyebrow at the bluntness and wondered why she had to go through such extreme measures just because she was upset. But then he remembered who she was, and remembered that she knew too. "You know, after you left last night, I decided to do some of my own research. I think it's only fair I know who I am and what I'm capable of, you know."
Nick's face paled. "What do you know?" He asked.
"Everything."
"Shit."

Nicholas Scratch paced around his room, while Abigail Henson sat on his bed, examining her nails.
"So you know everything?" He asked incredulously. Abby nodded, not looking up from her freshly-painted black nails. "How did you learn years of Henson family spells in a night?"
"I guess its in my blood?" Abby tried, still not looking up.
"Abby, look at me," Nick pleaded, needing to get through to the girl. Obeying, the girl met the warm β and slightly frantic β brown eyes of the warlock in front of her. "You can't go down this path, alright. I know you may think I'm an absolute idiot for telling you this, but, for the sake of Greendale and the rest of the freaking world, ignore your extremely unfortunate family past andβ"
"βand what, Scratch?" Abby demanded. "Do good?" She scoffed. "Do you know how much my family accomplished? How much power they had?"
"Yes, I do, Abby, I know. I also know that despite your family's immense amount of power and control over magic, your family did bad things, and even you can't deny that," Abby looked down at Nick's words. "You aren't bad." He finished, emphasizing each word, trying to get it through the girl's head.
"How do you know that for sure?" Abby asked, fear and vulnerability clear in her eyes. Whether it was genuine or not, Nick didn't know. He was really hoping it was genuine, though. Life would be so much harder if it wasn't.
Nick sighed and took the girl's hands, "I just do."
"Will you help me?"
"Of course I will. You can trust me."

"How far are you getting with her?" The High Priest asked Nick later on that day, while having one of their regular meetings in his office.
The younger boy cleared his throat, "I'm getting there, Father Faustus. She still believes she's destined to do bad things. I've started to convince her that's not the right way to go."
"Get through to her, Scratch. We can't have the Henson family waking up and causing chaos. At least with their memories gone, we can take them down a little easier. Unfortunately, the Dark Lord believes the Henson's could be a valuable asset. But having them on our side could help us a lot. Having one Henson on our side β especially the youngest β will and should convince the others as well."
Nick nodded his head in agreement.
"However, Scratch, if getting through to Abigail fails and she turns and she wakes her family, then we will have no choice but to end the entire family line for good. Don't mess this up."
"I'll do my best."
