CORA WALKS WITH A PINK ROSE in hand. She frowns, staring at the memorial of her boss. She noticed two young people, possibly on their late twenties holding onto each other, staring at her grave as they cried into each other's arms. A frown falls upon her lips as she hesitantly makes her way over to the grave, her clutch on the rose tightening.

"Er...hello." Cora greets and the two look at her. A man and woman. They shared similar features, olive skin, piercing green eyes with soft brown hair. They dressed nicely and she could tell they were people of money. "I-Is this your mother?"

"What's it to you?" The girls snaps, sniffling with a harsh look that causes a frown to fall upon Coras lips.

"I apologize in behalf of my sister, we've been having a rough day and yes...this is our mother. Some ragged animal attacked her." The boy speaks and holds out his hand. "I'm Charlie, Charlie Martin and this is my sister Charlotte." He smiles softly.

Cora returns the smile. "Cora Salvatore, it's a pleasure to meet you too." She said but Charlotte only looks down, attempting to not show her tears.

"I'm sorry but did you know my mother? She wasn't quite the social person, we're the only ones that came..." Charlie says and Cora swallows the lump in her throat, only feeling more guilt.

"Uh, I used to work in her library. She's quite the... sweetheart." Cora lies and Charlotte scoffs.

"You're bluffing. She's possibly the rudest people you could come across. Even we know that." Charlotte spat and Charlie nudges her sides.

Charlie smiles timidly. "Thank you. We should uh get going, I hope to see you again, Charlotte." He waves his hand lightly.

"As do I." Cora returns the smile and they walk away making her sigh then look down at the grave. She kneels down and places the rose on the grave.

Cora stares down at the grave. She couldn't help but feel guilty. Florence had two children. She didn't know that Klaus would kill her. She thought he would simply comfort her because that's what she needed, she needed comfort, not the death of the lady but Klaus clearly didn't understand that.

Just as a tear travels down her cheek, she hears footsteps behind her but didn't pay mind to it, thinking someone was just visiting a loved one. "Cora, now how did I know I'd find you here?" His voice is amused with no remorse.

She immediately stands up, whirling around to face him with an angered look. "How dare you speak to me?!" She yells, pushing his chest but he isn't fazed at all. Rebekah told him she knew everything and was supposedly alright with it. "You killed her! She had children, Niklaus!"

Klaus shrugs carelessly. "She fired you. You should be thankful, I was doing you a favor."

"By bloody murdering her?!" Cora cries out in disbelief and raises her hand but Klaus quickly catches her wrist, staring at her.

"Don't lay a finger on me." Klaus grits through his teeth, pulling her closer as she swallows the lump in her throat. "She fired you without a reason, I'm not going to let it slide! If that's what your looking forโ€”"

"I'm not looking for anything!" Cora attempts to remove her wrist from his grasp but fails to do so. "I just want a simple life, Niklaus. I wish for nothing more but-but this fiction with vampires, werewolves and witches. It's overwhelming and..and you killed her. It's the constant replay and guilt!!"

Klaus frowns. "She's old. She would've died in a day or two." He defends himself.

"That's not the point." Cora whispers and Klaus' frown only deepens. "You killed someone."

"It wouldn't be the first time." Klaus took a step forward, forcing her to take a step back since he was gripping her wrist. "Humans are nothing but preys. We're the predators, human lives are silly. In seventy, maybe sixty years and it's over. Dead. No adventures. Not to mention sickness, the life of one string. While me, I've lived for a thousand years. Everything you've seen for the first time, I've seen a million times, I've seen and done everything, Cora. And killing a silly little human won't bother me in the slightest, especially if they've hurt your feelings."

Cora stares at him, eyes burning with tears that she prayed wouldn't spill. "Silly? So the night of the ball, was everything you said a lie? To play with my silly little human mind?" His face falls, grip loosening as she shoves him away. "I should've never wasted a breath on you." Her voice cracks and she storms past him.

Klaus turns to face her. "Cora!" He calls after her but she ignores him making his shoulder slump, looking down to Florences grave before looking back up, seeing Cora disappear into the crowds yet he could still hear her heart beating. Like a melody.

"Brother, it seems you've forgotten how to treat a lady." Klaus turns to see Elijah with an amused expression, arms crossed over his chest while he leans against the wall.

"I haven't forgotten a thing."

"You're being difficult. Which makes it hard for her to know who you really are. Trust her, Niklaus."

Klaus stares at him, taking a step forward. "I don't trust anyone." His jaw clenches before speeding away and Elijah shakes his head.

"What an arrogant bastard your brother is." Cora mumbles, lifting her club and angrily hitting the gold ball. It flies ahead and she rolls her eyes as it misses the hole while Rebekah watches in amusement.

"Didn't you fancy him?" Rebekah questions and Cora sighs, placing another golf ball at the tee before properly adjusting the club and hitting it, frowning as it wouldn't go in the score.

"Don't be ridiculous, Bekah." Cora lies.

Rebekah raises a brow, placing a ball at the tee before hitting it perfectly and it goes in making Cora sigh, feeling jealous. "I can hear your heart. It skipped a beat which means you're lying."

"A liar who can't play golf." Cora rests her chin on the club.

The vampire laughs at the girl. "It's really not as difficult as you make it out to be."

"You have absolutely no right to speak, seeing as you've had plenty of practice unlike myself." Cora spoke and Rebekah shrugs while mindlessly hitting the ball and it goes in perfectly.

"That's on you. You could've had seventeen years of practice. Not to mention you're almost eighteen."

Cora sighs. "Well I couldn't with my father up my business. I'm always busy studying or working around the house. It's hilarious how he wants me to get good grades yet, he doesn't want me to work."

Rebekah rolls her eyes. "He sounds like a prat."

"That's because he is." Cora cheekily replies, keeping her chin on her club bride changing the subject. "Seriously, is there a better game? I recall playing a game with my brothers. I think it's called 'kickball, perhaps soccer. Whatever it is, I want to play it."

Rebekah stares at her. "No."

"Come on, Bekah. No need to be a bore." Cora smiles encouragingly. "Don't be chicken."

"Chicken?" Rebekah scoffs. "Me? I'm a thousand year old vampire, I'm far from...chicken." She grimaced and Cora rolls her eyes. "I simply do not want to run around like a chicken."

Cora frowns at Rebekah who begins walking away. "I'll have you know, I've played the game multiple times! And I've looked far from chicken!" She calls out but Rebekah only waves her hand in the air before walking inside her mansion.

"No one to play with?" She hears and spun to see Klaus, hands behind his back with a smirk. She noticed he had cut his hair a bit. He walks closer to her and she glares at him.

"I am in no mood for your company." Cora turns on her heels and begins walking away.

Klaus smiles. "Don't be angry, love. We had a little spat. I'm over it already." He calls after her.

"I'm not over it, Niklaus." The way she said his name was like venom on her tongue.

"How can I acquit myself?" Klaus watches as she turns around, holding a sweet innocent smile.

Cora sighs, wrapping her arms around herself. "I'm friends with Rebekah, not you. You don't have to speak to me."

"But I want to." Klaus takes a step forward. "I meant it. I enjoy you. And I find it quite difficult to stay away." He spoke sincerely. "By your heartbeat, I could tell you feel the same way. You're nervous."

Cora sends him a look. "Yes, I am. I'm very nervous because I'm scared." She turns around and begins walking away.

"Scared? Of what?"

She lets out an exasperated sigh before turning to face him. "I'm scared of you."

"I wouldn't kill you." Klaus frowns and takes a step forward, picking up the club. "Come, I'll teach you. I promise I won't bite." He winks.

Cora looks around before turning back to him, he's waiting for a reply with a raised brow and she sighs before walking closer to him. Klaus hands her the club and she takes it as he goes behind her, arms slipping by her waist and helping her hold the club properly. She could feel his breathing against her neck and closed her eyes lightly.

"You're too tense. Relax, align your shoulders, keep your arms straight and bend your knees slightly." Klaus whispers and she looks at him from over her shoulder. His nose brushes past hers and she takes a deep breath before turning back in front of her. "Now swing."

Cora swings it, his hands over hers and it goes closer to her score but didn't go in yet it's the closest she's ever been. She turns to face him with a sly smile. "I almost did it."

"You need just a bit more practice." Klaus takes a step closer but she doesn't seem to notice. "Do you want my help?"

Coras eyes searches for his and she knew this was his way of wanting to get to know her. Her lips purse before nodding. "I'd like that but no more killing."

Klaus smiles at her. "No promises."

Cora frowns at him and he laughs. "I'm only joking. You have my word." He smiles and she grins.
