"Whose fault is it that we're in this mess?" Y/n reminded herself, resting Armin's body on the roof.

"Whose fault is it that Armin's dead?" Y/n mumbled, standing up and grabbing her blade as she traced its edges against her arm.

She didn't know what she was doing. The voice inside of her just told her to do as it says.

As her tears slowly disappeared along with her mourning, fury began to build up inside of her as she glared at the thing that destroyed her only reason to live.

Her heart raced as if there was no tomorrow as she thought of all the things she's gonna do to the Colossal Titan.

She couldn't control her urge to kill and calm the anger that's about to burst inside of her.

"Whose fault is it that my only reason of living is now gone?" Y/n let out a tear before cutting her skin with her blade.

Suddenly, streaks of yellow crackled in the sky. Levi looked up and noticed that the sky was still bright and there was no sign of rain at all.

"Another Titan?" Levi groaned as he made his way back to Wall Maria after defeating the rest of the Titans.

Unfortunately, the Beast Titan, Zeke Jaeger, got away thanks to the Cart Titan, Pieck Finger.

After a few seconds after that sudden lightning, a massive tremor shook the ground, causing the Scouts to stumble.

Seeing this, Bertholdt and Reiner's eyes widened, unaware of another Titan shifter aside from Eren.

The Titan lets out a screech as it crouched in front of Armin's burnt body in a protective manner.

"Another one?" Jean stammered as he stared at the Titan who was standing in front of Armin while letting out a screech.

"This sound...I recognize this sound. It's the sound of an animal that had lost its loved one. A pained cry..." Sasha described.

"Where's Y/n? Didn't she head over there?!" Connie panicked, afraid that Y/n might've been affected by the transformation.

The four of them began to worry for Y/n's safety, since she was heading there just now.

The Titan's h/c hair swayed gently due to the soft impact of the wind. Its e/c eyes glowed brightly, as if it was claiming the higher position.

"No, that Titan over there is Y/n." Mikasa claimed.

Y/n used her wings to swiftly glide towards the Colossal Titan. Bertholdt gasped as he tried to get Y/n away with his arm.

Y/n easily dodged it and instead, her 14-meter-case Titan circled around the Colossal Titan's arm.

The Titan formed talons with its fingers, using its hatred and hardened heart, after getting hurt so many times, to form hardened skin around its talons.

The Titan lets out a pained roar as it clawed its fingers into the Colossal Titan's eyes. Bertholdt looked around, unable to see anything but darkness.

"What is that thing?" Levi stared at the Titan, who was fighting against the Colossal Titan.

Y/n flew away from him, using her wings to fly towards its nape. She used her talons to cut through it, causing Bertholdt to come out.

Bertholdt stared at the Titan's face in horror. None of the warriors expected another Titan shifter within the walls.

None of them were prepared for this and none planned for this situation to ever happen.

The Soaring Titan harshly threw Bertholdt's body on the same roof, where Armin was.

The Titan glanced at the top of Wall Maria to find Eren's Titan form still lying there, hopeless.

She approached the inner gate and crouched down inside of it. Well, she was still outside of the gate, but one step backwards and she's inside.

She flaunted her huge wings. On the right was the color blue. On the left was the color white. Just like the Wings of Freedom.

Using the pain of bretrayal and losing too many loved ones in her heart, she turned it into hardening.

She hardened her everything and once it was close to reaching her actual human body, she forced herself to exit the Titan.

Y/n came out of her Titan with weird streaks under her eyes. Tears stained on her face as she tried to wipe the new ones.

She hopped onto the roof of the building using her ODM gear, since she was part of the Scouts.

She grabbed Bertholdt's using the back of his collar and dragged him. Y/n bit off Bertholdt's limbs just a moment ago so that he wouldn't try to struggle later on.

"M-My...dream to see the ocean...you'll have to see it...for the both of us..."

Armin's last wish echoed in her head as she approached Armin's body. She obviously wasn't happy. However, she wasn't angry, nor was she sad. Honestly, she didn't know what to feel.

All she felt was disappointment.

"What if I told you...I wanted to see the ocean with you?" Y/n frowned, staring at his body in pain.

After all, it's a promise she made with someone. How could she feel content with her being the only one to see it? It wouldn't feel right.

"Not again..." she whispered, clenching the part of her clothing, where her heart is.

𝚈/𝚗'𝚜 𝙿𝙾𝚅

I stood momentarily speechless over the burned body of my childhood friend, Armin Arlert.

I had a feeling it was going to turn out like this, but I wanted to believe in your strength, so I relied everything on you.

"Armin..." I called out his name as a desperation for him to wake up like in those magical fairytale books.

I then heard the weight of a Titan landing in the distance. Turning around, I saw the Cart Titan, carrying a man on its back.

The Cart Titan galloped across the rooftops to try and reach my current location, most likely to rescue the man who caused all of this.

I quickly moved to hold the unconscious user of the Colossal Titan as hostage, placing my blade against the Warrior's throat.

As the Cart Titan stopped, I got a better look at the man on its back and I spotted marks under his eyes.

Meaning the man on the Cart Titan's back can turn into a Titan. If the Armored Titan is with the rest and the Colossal Titan is with me.

The Cart Titan is standing before me, then that must mean that the person on its back is the Beast Titan.

"Are you...Y/n Voland?" the man spoke. I glared at him and pressed the blade a bit more closer to his neck.

"Don't come any closer. I won't hesitate to kill this swine!" I threatened, not lowering my guard down.

"You talk just like Lada too, and yet, you don't look anything alike. It seems...you've find your lover." he commented, observing my face.

"Excuse me?" I asked, not comprehending his statement just now about some kind of lover.

"Please believe me. You're not supposed to be here as a Soldier. You're supposed to be with us as a Warrior. That idiot..." he told me.

"Get away from her!" I heard. I turned around to see Captain Levi making his way down the huge wall.

"Bertholdt, I'm sorry to say it, but this is the end for you." the man said. This guy seems to know about my sister

An old friend, perhaps? But why would she be friends with someone not from here? An obvious enemy to us?

"Y/n, I'll be back to save you someday. I'll be needing your power for the future." the man declared. After what you have done to Armin, you think I'm going help you?

"He ran away..." I mumbled, watching as the Cart Titan galloped away with that mysterious man in tow.

Captain Levi landed on the rooftop near me after using the last of his gas. He demanded the rest of my blades and gas so he can pursue the man.

"We'll discuss about what just happened once this is all over. For now, do as I tell you." he ordered.

"Of course." I complied, unbuckling my ODM gear. I paused when I heard the body behind me gasp for air.

"Armin...?" I stared at him in disbelief to see him struggling for air.

"Armin! Hang in there! Keep breathing!" I quickly made my way to Armin in desperation.

"Armin? Y/n?" I heard Mikasa called out to us. I ignored it for now and focused on listening to Armin.

I rested my head on his chest and heard a heartbeat. It was slow and gradually getting slower by the second.

"Captain Levi! Hurry, give me the syringe! We have to turn Armin into a Titan and have him take the Colossal Titan's powers! Please give me the syringe!" I demanded.

Injecting someone with the Titan serum will not only allow them to inherit the power of the Titan and the knowledge it will bring, but it will also completely heal their body should they be on the brink of death.

Therefore, it would be ideal to inject a severly wounded person while the user of a Titan is incapacitated nearby.

"Okay." he slowly obliged and pulled out the case with the injection. He hesitated...

Mikasa suddenly pulled out her smoke signal and fired a red one. Most likely to inform the others about something.

As Captain Levi's about to hand me the Titan injection, Floch climbs up on the rooftop, carrying Commander Erwin on his back.

Commander Erwin is severely wounded, but still alive, and Floch has been looking for Captain Levi in hopes that the injection could save him.

Seeing this, Captain Levi takes back the injection and has Floch bring Commander Erwin onto the roof.

"I'm giving the injection to Erwin." Captain Levi announced after confirming that Commander Erwin is still breathing.

"Captain, you said you'll give it to Armin." I reminded, standing up, horrified at my Captain's decision.

"I'm choosing the person who can save humanity." Captain Levi retorted. Save humanity?

We heard a blade being drawn and turned to see that Mikasa had drawn her weapon, tears forming.

"Do you idiots have the faintest goddarn clue what you're doing?" Captain Levi questioned.

"If we didn't, we wouldn't be going against your decision...Captain." I retorted.

"So basically, you want to leave Erwin, the commander of the Survey Corps, to die without lifting a finger?" he pointed out.

"We don't have time for this. Get out of my way." he demanded.

Suddenly, Eren came out of nowhere and grabbed onto the serum in Levi's hand.

"Eren, set aside your feelings." Captain Levi demanded. There were burns all over Eren's body, most likely when he tried to get out of his Titan, but couldn't since he was stuck.

"Captain Levi, I understand that what I'm doing is selfish. But I would like to ask...why did you hesitate to give me the syringe earlier?" I inquired.

Captain Levi admitted that he was considering the possibility of Commander Erwin still being alive, and now that he's here, he will receive the injection.

Eren tightened his grip on the Titan injection, and Captain Levi striked Eren with his fist, knocking out several of his teeth and sending him flying.

Outraged, Mikasa lunged at Levi and put her blade to his throat. Y/n gripped onto her blades.

Deep down inside, Y/n...no, the voice wanted to save Erwin. The voice told her to let Levi save Erwin.

But Y/n refused, wanting Armin, her childhood friend, and the person who's been with her through thick and thin, to live.

"Hey!" Floch exclaimed, realizing how serious the situation is getting.

"You guys should understand perfectly well that without Erwin, humanity doesn't have a chance against the Titans!" Levi yelled.

"He's right, Mikasa. Stop this insanity already. Y/n, put your sword down. Captain Levi is right." Floch intervened.

"Are you asking for a death wish? Do you want me to butcher you up like the swine that you are?!" Y/n gave Floch a death glare, immediately shutting him up.

"It's Armin that humanity needs." Eren declared. Mikasa and Y/n gasped when they realized he was still conscious.

"Armin is the person who saved Eren from being blown by a cannon. Armin is the one who planned to take back Trost District. He's the one who woke Eren up to make him recall his duty as a soldier of humanity." Y/n reminded.

"He found out who Annie really was and he suggested to travel through Titan territory at night." Eren continued.

"He suggested plugging up Wall Maria with the hardening ability. He found the mechanics of the anti-personnel ODM gear." she said.

"It was only because of Armin that we found Reiner's hiding place, and that we were able to defeat the Colossal Titan in the first place!" she yelled.

"The commander and I aren't the ones who'll save humanity! Armin is!" Eren shouted, his mouth bleeding.

"Commander Erwin is the one who will save humanity." Floch stepped in. Mikasa told him to shut his mouth. As she should.

"Not a chance! Don't act like you're the only ones suffering!" Floch shouted, deciding to argue against them.

"There isn't a single soul left alive on the other side of the wall. They were all torn to pieces by the Beast Titan's stone artillery. I was sure every single one of us was going to die." Floch informed.

Erwin came up with a plan to fight back against the Beast Titan, and Floch's comrades were all slaughtered just as planned.

When Floch found Erwin, he thought about killing him, but decided that would have been too easy.

He wanted Erwin to endure more of this hell. It takes a devil to fight the Titans, and Floch believes he was spared from dying so that he could bring Erwin back.

"So, stop interfering!" Floch yelled, about to take the injection.

Mikasa moved to intercept him, but Hanji grabbed her first and managed to pull her away before she can strike him.

"If you want a devil to fight against the enemies, I'll gladly become one if it means saving Armin!" Y/n yelled as she drew her blades and attempted to murder Floch.

The rest of the squad has arrived now, and is able to see the choice that must be made.

Noticing the crime that Y/n was about to do Connie desperately grabbed onto her legs in an attempt to stop her.

"Don't get in my way!" Y/n demanded, trying to kick him off. She prepared to stab him in the head until Jean held onto her.

"Y/n...that's enough." Jean whispered. Y/n paused and watched as Levi got up and opened the injection case, preparing to inject Erwin.

Mikasa screamed and Hanji reminded her of how much they need Erwin and that they know what it's like to lose people.

Hanji is only here now because Moblit died pushing her into a well to escape the Colossal Titan's transformation blast.

Though there are countless people Hanji wanted to bring back, there comes a time to say farewell, and they have no choice but to keep moving forward.

Hearing this, Mikasa finally relented and Levi prepared the injection. Eren weakly pulled at Levi's leg and asked him if he knew about the ocean.

Despite Floch's intervention, Eren told Levi about Armin's dream to look at the ocean.

Though he was only ever driven by hatred of the Titans, Armin is not like him, and has dreams of his own.

Levi glanced at Armin's body and then gave the order for everyone to clear out, so he can have Erwin eat Bertholdt.

The group relocated, with Floch taking Eren away, so he cannot intervene, and Levi is left alone with Y/n.

"I told you to get out, right? You think I can concentrate with you around?" Levi glanced at Y/n, who was just holding Armin's body in her arms.

"Captain, I have one final wish. Could you please do it for me before you turn Commander Erwin into a Titan?" Y/n requested.

Levi remained silent, listening to what she has to say. Y/n took this as a message to continue.

"Captain...I am completely aware that our selfish actions could lead to the downfall of humanity, but to be honest, if Armin's gone...my life would be meaningless." Y/n rambled.

"I don't want to live a meaningless life. If Armin is going to die, I'd rather to die as well. I want to die next to him...please." Y/n requested.

Reckless decision, indeed. But to her, it was for the best. What's the point in living if her only reason to live is now gone? To save humanity?

'Save humanity, my butt. To hell with them. I've never cared about humanity. It's always been disgusting to me. Only Armin made it beautiful.'  is something she would say.

"Have a Titan devour me and steal my power. I can't see the ocean without Armin. It's our dream...not mine." she said.

"Because without Armin, this life of mine would be meaningless to me." Y/n laid on the roof, resting her head on Armin's chest, listening to his faint heartbeat.

"Because without Commander Erwin, this life of mine would be meaningless to me."

Lada's voice echoed in Levi's head, remembering that time he had asked her why Erwin was so special to her.

"This is fine...I'd rather die next to him than live a meaningless life." Y/n whispered, shutting her eyes.

Levi took Erwin's arm and prepared to give him the injection when Erwin suddenly grabbed Levi's hand by his wrist.

"Erwin?" Levi stared at him in shock.

"Lada...do you think there are people outside of the walls? Do you want to find out together?" Erwin mumbled.

Levi frowned, remembering the unrequited love between his two dearest friends, Erwin and Lada.

"Captain?" Y/n is suprised when Levi carried her away after injecting the serum into Armin's arm.

"Why did you save Armin? Wasn't Commander Erwin your first option?!" Y/n stared at Armin's Titan in shock.

Levi explained that Erwin only became a devil because that was what was needed of him.

He had been set free, but they were about to drag him back, and Levi decided it was time to let him rest.

"Plus, I'm sure Erwin and Lada would like to reunite again. Because of this world we live in, they never had the chance to understand each other's feelings." Levi stated.

Bertholdt woke up in time to see a small, skinny, blond Titan looming over his vulnerable figure.

He began to struggle and noticed his former friends watching from several rooftops away. Bertholdt panicked and cried out for help, but to no avail.

As he screamed for Annie and Reiner, Armin's Titan closed its jaws on his head and devoured him.

The blond Titan collapsed on the ground. Y/n immediately used her ODM gear to maneuver herself over to him.

Eren, Mikasa, and the other 104th cadets surrounded it as Armin emerged from the Titan, unharmed.

Y/n's in shock, but embraced him before listening for a heartbeat, and she cried as soon as she found it.

She let out a cry.

A pained cry.

The cry of a child, who had been hurt and abandoned so many times, and only now has it felt love.
