โ€œSweetie, what's with that face, hm?โ€

Mrs Kozume asked softly as she
ran her hand over her son's head,
a frown on her face seeing Kenma
so lifeless with his head
resting on his desk.

His folders and books laid nearly
stacked beside him, telling his
mother that he had finished his
homework already despite hating
it so much so this definitely wasn't
the reason for his mood.

But Kenma only sighed as he closed
his eyes, hands subconsciously
moving to cup his baby bump.

โ€œKuroo's working.โ€

โ€œAh right,
he started his job, right?โ€

โ€œMhm..โ€

A soft smile found its way on his
mother's face when she realized
what was actually going on.

This side of her son still felt new
to her, this more affectionate
and clingy side.

But she understood it,
when she had been pregnant,
she had also always wanted
to be near her husband.

โ€œWill he come over for dinner?โ€

โ€œNo, he has the late shift.โ€

โ€œHow about.. You bring him
some dinner after we ate?
If he's going to work so long,
he should eat properly.โ€

โ€œHm.. I don't want to annoy
him there. He has to work,
he doesn't have time for me.โ€

โ€œHe needs to eat something and
he'll surely have five minutes to
say hi to you and to thank you
for the food. That's much better
than moping around here.โ€

She chuckled and leaned over to
press a soft kiss on top of her son's
head when Kenma only hummed.

โ€œDinner's almost ready.โ€

Kuroo seemed busy.

He had started working as a waiter
in a small ramen shop two weeks ago,
determined to earn money for their
baby so they could start getting
all the stuff they'd need.

So far they only had the little cloth
set Kuroo's mother had given them
for his birthday and alone the
furniture would cost a lot.

There were many people in the
restaurant, enjoying the ramen
and smiling as they chatted while
Kuroo rushed from one table to
another, serving bowls of steaming
ramen and cleaning up the
tables with a smile.

But Kenma knew him well enough
to see how exhausted he was.

A long school day, practice
and now work.

All those responsibilities and Tetsuro

didn't want to leave anyone hanging.

The ravenette said something to a
guest before he disappeared to the
kitchen, making Kenma reconsider
his decision for a moment.

Maybe it was wrong to come here.

What if Kuroo lost his job
because of him?

Only because he's been so
annoyingly clingy lately?

Stupid hormones,
stupid pregnancy.

โ€œSorry, baby.โ€

Kenma sighed but smiled softly
when his little one kicked lightly
in protest as if they had read
their papa's thoughts.

He was slowly getting cold anyway
so if he didn't want to freeze outside,
he'd either have to go inside or get
Kuroo to come out for a bit so he
could go home again soon.

The blonde pulled his phone out
and dialed his boyfriend's number,
watching him through the window
how he answered the call with one
hand while wiping the table
with the other hand.

โ€œHey kitten.
I'm at work, are you okay?โ€

โ€œHey Kuroo. I know, I just..
Have you eaten yet?โ€

โ€œI had a snack earlier,
the restaurant is full and I
don't have time to eat.
Why did you call?โ€

โ€œI uhm..โ€

โ€œKenma.โ€

Not kitten.

โ€œI'm outside.
I brought dinner for you.
You don't have to eat it yet
if you don't have time but..
Not eating dinner isn't
an option either.โ€

Kuroo immediately turned to
the window, his eyes meeting
Kenma's and a tired smile
growing on his face.

โ€œGive me a second.โ€

And just like that the call ended
and the blonde put his phone back

in his pocket and slipped his cold
hands in his jacket pockets too.

The padded jacket had begun to sit
a little snug around his midsection,
his cute baby bump pushing against
the fabric and making it hard to
hide that he was pregnant.

โ€œKitten.
You should be home and
bundled up in your blanket,
it's cold.โ€

Kenma looked up when Kuroo
came outside, immediately cringing
at the uncomfortable cold.

โ€œBut you need to eat.โ€

The blonde pouted before he took
the bento box out of his bag and
handed it to his boyfriend.

โ€œThank you, I'm really starving.โ€

Kuroo admitted softly with a
chuckle as he ran his thumb over
the lid of the bento box before he
looked up at his loved one again.

โ€œBut I need to finish work first.โ€

He took a step closer and gasped
when Kenma suddenly wrapped
his arms around his waist to hug
him, being careful with his
tummy though so he wouldn't
squish their kid.

โ€œSnuggly kitten.โ€

The ravenette chuckled as he
returned the hug and pressed a
soft kiss on top of the younger's
head when Kenma nuzzled his
face against the older's chest.

โ€œYou smell like fried
chicken and broth.โ€

โ€œIt's my new perfume,
just for you.โ€

Kuroo chuckled at his boyfriend's
muffled words before he moved his
hands so he could cup the blonde's
cheeks gently and lift his head a bit.

โ€œI need to get back inside, kitten.
Thank you for bringing me dinner,
you're too cute.โ€

โ€œAm not.โ€

โ€œYou are.โ€

โ€œAm not.โ€

โ€œYou are.โ€

And before Kenma could deny
it again, Kuroo leaned down to press
a soft kiss on his boyfriend's lips.

He always knew the best way to
shut up the small pudding head.
