Entry Number 0. Timeline Number 4.
I never told him, but I really admire him.
βββ strives so hard to protect us all. . . And he's able to feel so many things.
Would it be difficult to be like him? I hope he can wait for a little longer. . .
. . . I have felt overwhelmed by those three ungrateful brats.
"Good morning, Muffet!" [Name] happily greeted their spider friend as they approached the counter. "The usual, please," they politely asked for their usual order while pulling out the exact amount of gold they needed to pay.
"Hello, Dearie!" Muffet greeted with her signature laugh. "Where is Frisk? I thought he would be coming with you as usual?" She asked, wondering why Frisk didn't join them. It was rare for [Name] to enter without one of their brothers, mainly Frisk since Chara stays home most of the time (and refused to enter Muffet's bakery since he has a deathly fear of spiders unlike Frisk).
"And why are you asking, huh?" [Name] asked Muffet with a teasing tone. "Is it because you like that brother of mine?" They made a smug smile while watching a bit of pink dust Muffet's cheek as she smiled. [Name] chuckled at this sight, knowing very well of her small yet cute crush on Frisk. But they couldn't help but smile, knowing that Frisk might as well return the feelings towards Muffet.
"Don't jump into conclusions, dearie," Muffet warned her with a light yet friendly tone as she handed [Name] the bag filled with spider donuts. "That'll be twenty-one gold, sweetie."
[Name] laughed a bit while taking out the exact gold needed to pay while also leaving lots of tips in the process. But they couldn't help but notice Muffet pulling out a chocolate cake.
"Also, I made this for you and your brothers. . . Frisk specifically," Muffet told them, a bit hesitant to mutter the last part, but [Name] heard her loud and well. "It's my special Teraphosa Chocolate Cake," Muffet proudly presented this wonderful cake, making [Name] raise a brow while the guilt began catching up to them.
"Are you sure? You do only make it once a year, though. . ." [Name] asked, wondering if it was alright for Muffet to be doing this. Sure, they felt really flattered by this action (even if they knew Muffet was also planning to give one to Frisk on his birthday) but couldn't help but feel bad.
"You and your brother have been very kind to me. And I know you three have been somewhat down. . ." Muffet confessed with a smile. "I want my best clients to feel better! Even if your ugly brother is rude to spiders. . ." She muttered the last part low under her breath.
But [Name] couldn't help themselves but find this as a perfect opportunity.
"May I ask which brother?"
Muffet swore she saw [Name] wearing a shit-eating yet smug grin.
"Fufufu. . . You know exactly who."
"Figured. Frisk is also pretty ugly, but hey, he is my brother."
"I meant Chara!" Muffet was quick to spill the answer, admitting that Chara is the ugly brother.
"Yeah, I knew that. I was only kidding, Muffet!" [Name] chuckled. "But. . . really. . . thank you, Muffet. You really shouldn't have. Chara and Frisk will be delighted," [Name] was quick to thank Muffet wholeheartedly.
"No need, dear. It's on the house," Muffet told them, still wearing a smile.
"No, no. I can pay for it," [Name] insisted.
"No, I insist!" Muffet insisted back.
"Oh! I have an idea!" [Name] chirped up as they dug into the pockets of their bag. They tried to find something special inside their bag, but it appears they had made too much. But they eventually found out.
[Name] pulled out a golden heart locket meant specifically for Muffet.
"These lockets are very special to me and my brothers. We give them to those who we treasure the most," they bashfully admitted. "To me, it's more valuable than money. And I made this one for you in mind." And with that said, [Name] slowly twisted the cylinder behind the heart locket.
And you get the cue.
Muffet was amazed by this piece, even if it was only a music box melody. Both her and [Name] noticed that her cousins, the spiders (of course), joined them on the counter to dance along to the melody. The two chuckled at this act, watching the spiders dance to the beat.
"Okay, okay. You win, cutie pie," Muffet admitted defeat as [Name] handed her the golden locket. "I'll make sure to take good care of it," Muffet swore as she put the golden heart locket on. "But in return, you better be careful with my cake," Muffet told [Name] as she handed the chocolate cake to [Name].
"Don't worry, ma'am. I will," [Name] replied while imitating a soldier salute. "Thank you, Muffet."
"No need to thank me, dearie. Fufufu!"

'It's been years since the last timeline was overwritten.'
[Name] walked through the busy streets of the city as they were caught up with their thoughts. Yet they still remained conscious to the real world as they were not even bumping into people at all while they walked with the cake in their hands, along with the bag of spider donuts.
'We haven't exactly talked about this again. Even XGaster hasn't said a word.'
[Name] was about to walk right into a conveniently placed large hole until something caught them. Or magic caught them and their baked goods.
The skeleton brothers happened to pass by, and Sans swiftly used his blue magic to catch [Name] and their luggage from falling. This caused [Name] to snap out of their trance, noticing that they were about to fall into a large hole that was randomly placed.
Totally not for plot reasons.
[Name] screamed, wondering if they were falling or not. As Sans lifted the screaming human back up using his blue magic, their screaming ceased once they saw the skeleton brothers with smiles in front of them.
"Oh! Hey Papyrus! Hey, Sans!" They greeted me with a chirp as if they just didn't scream seconds ago. "Did you happen to catch the cake and the spider donuts, too?"
"INDEED, WE HAVE!" Papyrus replied in his usual loud yet proud voice as Sans handed [Name] their goods back, with [Name] muttering a small thanks to him. "SANS HAS CAPTURED THE BAKED GOODS EFFORTLESSLY WHILE I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, STOOD LIKE HERE THE AMAZING SKELETON HE IS."
"Good job, bro. You're the coolest," Sans congratulated his brother for literally doing nothing but was proud, nonetheless.
"I owe you two for that," [Name] grinned from ear to ear, as if the events from two timelines ago never fucking happened.
'Of course, I remember that Sans died in the second timeline. . . but here he is! Alive and well next to Papyrus!'
'I honestly don't want to be reminded of that. . . But a wise man once said, "Learn from the past and don't let it happen." At least, I think Asgore said that. . .'
"You can just pay the next time we go to Grillby's," Sans casually replied with a laid-back grin, making Papyrus look at him in shock.
"NO NEED TO GO TO THAT GREASY RESTAURANT!"
"It's a deal, man."
"WHY?"
"I can hang out with you next week, Papyrus," [Name] told him with a small smile. That was enough to cause this amazing skeleton to beam in delight.
"REALLY!?"
"Really."
"WOWIE! I HANG OUT WITH MY INCREDIBLE FRIEND!"
The three quickly said their goodbyes while they headed to their separate ways. Thus causing [Name] to be in their thoughts again.
'Well. . . Chara has been very distressed. He's practically waiting for all of this to end.'
[Name] approached their home, where Frisk was probably waiting for them to arrive. They knocked on the door, waiting for Frisk to answer.
'I know that XGaster can end this any time he wants. . . but my brothers must stay determined if they want to stop this one day. And I just persevere no matter how many bad things keep happening. I must stay there with my brothers at all costs.'
The door slowly opened, revealing a slightly trembling Alphys who was clutching onto her papers anxiously. She looked up to see [Name]. And the poor reptilian monster flinched back.
"Alphys? Why are you here?" [Name] asked the shaking monster, beginning to grow concerned for her. Despite being XGaster's assistant, they couldn't help but feel bad for her.
"Uhm. . . XGaster wants to see you. . ." Alphys hesitantly replied, a look of fear and regret could be seen in her eyes as she breathed heavily.
"Wait. . . he's here, too?"
Once [Name] stepped foot into their home, they were met by XGaster looming over them as a dark shadow cast their face. Alphys walked past the human, standing behind XGaster reluctantly.
"XGaster? What do you need?" [Name] questioned the man with a raised brow, their suspicions slowly growing with every passing second.
Entry Number 1. Timeline Number 4.
"I will start a Genocide Route."
[Name] scoffed in disbelief, placing the goods onto the small table next to the door. "Genocide. . . ?" But fear slowly overtook them. "Where are my brothers-"
[Name] was cut off by XGaster harshly grabbing their face using one of his many hands. They harshly grabbed his hand as they were lifted up, trying to remove his hand (that was the size of their face) from them. But they knew it was no use.
Alphys lowered her head in shame, shutting her eyes tightly. She didn't want to see this. But she has to stay loyal to XGaster or else the consequences will be grave, especially for the three humans.
I have decided to overwrite one of the human children.
[Name] struggles as they felt they were slowly losing air. XGaster smirked as he generated the Overwrite button, swiftly clicking it.
I want to know if their perseverance allows them to ignore my orders, in an altered state.
After that experiment is done, I will test it on one of their 'brothers.'
[Name]'s eyes widened in fear as their eyes turned pitch black, with only a dark purple iris glowing in the dark.
What could happen if I involve them during the development of my perfect world?

"That's weird. . . [Name] should have returned."
The two brothers were discussing in their room, unaware of what just happened outside a few hours ago. Frisk decided to stay with Chara today, deciding to cheer him up while [Name] went out to Muffet's bakery for the day.
Ever since then, [Name] hasn't returned since.
"My guess is that they went with those idiotic skeleton brothers," Chara sneered, causing Frisk to softly smack him in the head.
"But they planned that tomorrow! And besides, it's already dark out!" Frisk protested, somehow even growing more worried for [Name]. "Something must have happened to them.
And without even giving Chara a chance to speak, Frisk harshly took his wrist and pulled him out the room. Chara, on the other hand, didn't stop him. As much as he didn't show it, he was worried about [Name].
Once the two exited their room, they noticed that the door was open.
"Do you think. . ." Frisk slowly muttered out, letting go of Chara's wrist as he walked to the door, noticing a dark and eerie aura being in the air. Chara followed behind, taking a spider-donut from the small table next to the door and munching on it.
He doesn't know that it's made with real spiders.
The two brothers were petrified at the spot when they noticed the amount of destruction shown in the city.
Without any second to lose, the two ran out the doors. They ran until they couldn't anymore, reaching into the rubble of Muffet's bakery.
Frisk and Chara looked around frantically until they heard a familiar female voice.
"My clients. . . my bakery. . . What did we do. . . ?" Muffet muttered out in distress, heartbroken that one of her dearest friends caused all of this. She clutched the heart locket that [Name] gave to her in the morning, remembering the moment that they shared together. "[Name] lied to me in the worst possible way. . . I will never forgive them. . ."
"Muffet. . ." Frisk muttered out, approaching the spider girl. Muffet flinched in surprise at his sudden appearance but still lowered her head in shame and disappointment. "I thought they were like you, Frisk. . . But now I see that their soul is rotten and foul like all humans. . ."
Without even a moment of hesitation, Frisk gently wrapped Muffet in his arms. Muffet slowly wrapped her arms around him as she began to slowly cry, feeling betrayed.
But suddenly, a purple slash passed right past the three.
Muffet pushed Frisk behind her, protecting him as the large slash created a massive crack on the street, sending the two back.
"FRISK! MUFFET!" Chara cried out for their names.
But someone else came.
As the concrete and rubble came crashing down, Chara used his arms for protection as dust scattered all over the place. Dust of the city and the monsters.
"Oh. So you have finally left your room, Chara."
XGaster stood tall with another shit-eating grin while his hands were on his back. In front of him was the [Name] Chara and Frisk were looking for. But Chara could tell that wasn't their [Name].
[Name] lifted their perseverance knife up high while they looked down, a dark and murderous aura surrounding them.
"What a pleasure! We have been worried about you lately," XGaster smugly spoke while [Name] pointed their knife at Chara, their purple eyes sending daggers right through his soul. "[Name] really wants to play with you."
[Name] launched themselves towards Chara with their knife, sending him rapid slashes. Chara lifted his arms up in protection, not wanting to hurt his older sibling. Unfortunately for him, [Name] wasn't going easy on him.
SLASH!
SLASH!
SLASH
From underneath the rubble, Muffet was protecting Frisk as she was slowly turning to dust. Frisk's eyes widened at the sight of Muffet being at death's door. He noticed that four of her arms were cut off. But despite her grave injuries, Muffet didn't even hesitate to protect Frisk in her dying moments.
One of her cousins (a spider), approached her with a half ripped note. The spider grew worried of Muffet slowly dying but handed her the note anyway.
The note was still readable. And as Muffet was reading every word, her eyes widened at the sight.
"How could you and your siblings be holding back for this long?"
Chara struggled as he tried to push [Name] away from him. They were prepared to lay the finishing blow on Chara yet Chara was desperately trying to prevent [Name] from doing so.
Suddenly, a pair of webs grabbed [Name]'s hands as they lifted them up to be held back by none other than Muffet and Frisk themselves. The duo grabbed [Name] tightly as they tried to escape their grasp, both sides struggling.
". . . Now I understand everything. . ." Muffet muttered. Unknown to both her and Frisk, [Name]'s eyes widened at the sight.
It seems like they were trying to fight off XGaster's control from the inside.
"How is it possible that you three have been holding back for so long?" Muffet asked them, growing weak as [Name] still tried to escape. "Do you want to lose [Name] or not? WAKE UP!"
Muffet and Frisk watch XGaster walk away from all the chaos, with Alphys following from behind. "He never cared about you three in the first place! You should do something about it!"
"You were never meant to be part of his plans. You don't deserve this. . ." Muffet's eyes furrowed as she and Frisk began to take the upper hand. "Nobody should decide what is best for you and nobody should have power over you!"
"STOP HIM NOW, GODDAMNIT!" Muffet cried out. Bits of tears managed to escape from [Name]'s dark eyes but XGaster got back to them again, with [Name] trying to escape the duo again.
XGaster felt something happen. He slowly turned around to meet the chaos that [Name] has created. It seems like nothing was there.
But instead, he was met with a sharp pain in his stomach.
Chara rushed towards XGaster with a punch into his gut. His teeth gritted as he glared at XGaster, who was left quite surprised by his action.
Entry Number 2. Timeline Number 4.
The other child has rebelled against me.
Finally, I have witnessed the ability known as reset.
Chara was quick to generate the reset button. He sent one last glare at XGaster before pushing the button.
Then, today's moments flashed before his eyes.
Chara and Frisk swiftly got up, both holding looks of fear. They quickly looked to where [Name] slept, in the other end of the room. Both brothers sighed in relief, to see them just starting to wake up.
Chara was quick to run up to them and give them a strong embrace, with Frisk jumping over Chara's bed to do the same. They two embraced [Name] tightly like they have never done before, catching them by surprise.
"Uh. . . Guys?" [Name] called out to the two of them. But they were met with both brothers' cries.
"We thought we lost you, man!" Chara cried out as Frisk nodded eagerly in response.
But. . . [Name] was confused.
"But. . . nothing happened."
Chara and Frisk froze on the spot. How come [Name] didn't remember what just happened? It didn't make any sense.
"But. . . I did have this nightmare. . ." They slowly replied, remembering bits and pieces of the nightmare they just had. It looked so real. And it terrified them.
"Then tell us what you remember."
This is going to be a problem. I don't want that button to create garbage like in the other universes.
Muffet tapped her fingers on the counter as she awaited Frisk and [Name] to arrive.
They never came.
I won't allow any other timeline to coexist.
After [Name] told their brothers what they could remember in the dream, the two came with a realization.
[Name] couldn't clearly remember anything that happened after a reset. Their soul is perseverance, after all. It wasn't that strong compared to their determined soul.
The two decided to tell [Name] everything, with [Name] putting the pieces together when they came to the realization.
XGaster made them commit genocide and havoc to everyone.
[Name] began crying while their brothers held them tightly yet again.
Oh, how they wish they could remember what happened.
I'm starting to feel tired of overwriting every time they ruin the course of my universe.
Alphys watches as XGaster grits his teeth, pressing the overwrite button again.
He was growing sick of those three meddling brats.
It's time to find a way to discipline those children.
