"...Sharing my fragile truth

You groan as you rub your temples. Shaking your head, you look at Liu Mei.

"I can't believe you made us late...again," You say with narrowed eyes directed at Liu Mei, who gestures towards the road.

"I don't control traffic, do you want me to drive over the cars?" Liu Mei states in frustration. You give her a blank look.

"Yes," her mouth makes an 'o' shape as she glances at you.

"Of course not," she sighs in relief that you aren't serious. You lean back on the passenger seat closing your eyes to relax.

"So you're almost twenty-one, and you will be a step closer to finding your soulmate," you hear the excitement in Liu Mei's voice. You open your eyes and sigh.

"I have six months, you and Dylan should worry about your soulmates," you tell her. She gasps.

"Oh come on Yunru, it's so romantic to know that out there a soulmate awaits you and is made just for you alone," you see her shiver in ecstasy. Rolling your eyes, you grab a chocolate bar from your pocket.

"What's the hype about soulmates anyway? It sounds like stress," she clicks her tongue at your confusion. You take a bite of your chocolate bar.

"With that attitude, you will become a member of the Tarnished," she narrows her eyes while looking at the road.

"Now that would be a dream come true," you smile dreamily at the thought of being free from having your soulmate chosen for you. Liu Mei waves you off.

"I wonder what my mark would be, I hope it would be a tiara with my initials and his would be a crown with his...that would be so cute!" She squeals with delight.

"Or what if  your mark is a butt and he is a monkey, and once you put them together it is a monkey's butt?" There is silence in the car for a while, and you both burst out laughing.

"Only you would say something like that," Liu Mei rolls her eyes, smiling.

Once entering the campus grounds, Liu Mei grabs a parking spot where you notice Dylan, your other best friend, waiting for your arrival.

You climb out and greet him. He hugs you unexpectedly.

"Someone missed me," you gently exit the hug. He pulls you back into another hug which causes you to jump in surprise at the once again unexpected hug.

"Dylan..." You whine in slight annoyance. He breaks the hug and looks at you with soft eyes.

"Ahem," you hear someone clear their throat. You turn to Liu Mei, who smirks.

"If I didn't know, I would believe you were soulmates. Dylan pushes you against his chest in a quick motion.

"Yes, we are!" Dylan states with a confident tone. You push away from Dylan, taking a large step back as you shake your head at him. He pouts at your actions.

"Don't jinx it," you look at him pointedly—all three of us start walking towards the admin building.

"Yunru, you should know that you are mine. Soulmates or not. We will marry!" Dylan says jokingly. You roll your eyes at him.

"Dylan, anyone who ends up as your soulmate must be a crackhead," Liu Mei laughs.

"And anyone who ends up as your soulmate must be from Mars since your expectation of a soulmate is unattainable," Dylan rolls his eyes.

"My soulmate will be better than yours anyway," Liu Mei smirks at Dylan whose eyes are wide.

"You saying that Yunru is a bad soulmate?? How rude," you grit your teeth at the conversation, your two friends are having.

"Can you please stop talking about soulmates...It isn't enjoyable. Almost as annoying as Dylan," Dylan gasps at your words. You shrug. They nod and change the conversation.

"So what did you do during the holiday Liu Mei? We haven't seen much of you,' Dylan asks curiously. You turn your head to Liu Mei, also curious.

"I went to Korea--"

"--North or South," you cut her off.

"--South obviously, I'm not crazy enough to visit Kim Jong Un. That man scares me," she places her hand dramatically on her chest.

"Oooh did you see your Jimin bias?" Dylan wiggled his eyebrows. You chuckle.

"Leave my Chim him alone," Liu Mei reaches over and slaps him on the back of his head.

"Hey!" He shouts in surprise while rubbing the back of his head.

"In any case...because you asked me so nicely I'll tell you what happened," you and Dylan furrow your eyebrows in confusion, but not bothering to correct her.

"When I went to South Korea, I didn't meet them since there is hype about them going to Mexico now for their KCON..." you and Dylan blink at Liu Mei. She continues.

"..plus they will be going to kick off with the US leg with the BTS live trilogy episode three Wings Tour at the Presidential centre in New Jersey..and over that week they will have three shows in Chicago and Anaheim."

Your eyes widen in bewilderment. Dylan opens his mouth about to say something but Liu Mei stops him.

"They only come to Asia in April to perform in several cities. Unfortunately, China banned foreign artists from performing here!" She grumbles with anger with each step she takes.

"I guess we don't need Naver anymore, since Mei is our walking, talking BTS encyclopedia," Dylan places an arm around your shoulders.

"You just have to pull her ear and then say search, and then all information comes regarding BTS," Dylan pulls Liu Mei's ear gently causing her to shriek and slap his hand away. You and Dylan laugh.

"Anyway, what did you do my young Yunru," you shrug at his question.

"I went to Shanghai with my family...nothing 'exotic' really."

"You didn't even think of inviting me?!" Dylan shouts in shock, catching some attention from students walking in the same direction you are.

"It was a family trip?" You shake your head at Dylan.

"So, we are a couple, aren't we? Therefore we are family," you narrow your eyes at him.

"No, we aren't."

"Well, we will be," You groan at Dylan. He doesn't know when to give up.

"Dylan stops it," Liu Mei gives him an annoyed look.

"Who asked you?" He raises an eyebrow.

"You--"

"We're here, so stop bickering so we can get out of dorms please," you cut Liu Mei off, giving her and Dylan a stern look.

All three of you stand behind a group of students in front of the admin building.

"Are you coming with us to the mall later?" You ask him. He drops his head in sadness.

"I can't. Unfortunately, I have to meet my new dorm mates, but I will see you tomorrow in class?" You nod at him with a smile. He gives you a wide smile.

Dylan gives you another hug and kisses your forehead. He gives Liu Mei a quick hug, which she resists and pushes him off. She waves him off.

"Go go go," he gives her a cheeky smile and leaves.

"He must have taken a love potion. "

"He's always like that..." you tell Liu Mei, but she shakes it off.

"No, he seems more affectionate than usual," you glance at her but notice a student rep call you and Liu Mei. You both head into the large admin building to receive your dorm keys.

Heading to the car, you both drive to your new dorm apartment, excited that you are sharing.

Entering your new dorm, you pick the top bunk bed and begin to decorate while Liu Mei packs out her bags. You finish decorating and look at your finished work.

You fall on the bed and sigh with pure bliss.

"Finally done," You whisper to yourself. You turn your head to look at the rest of the dorm. There is a balcony, and a door in the corner which is most likely the bathroom. You look at Liu Mei's side. Her bed is similar to yours.

You watch Liu Mei grab some of her clothing quickly. Knowing what she is about to do, you hurriedly grab clothing for yourself.

"Dibs on the shower!!" You both say. You widen your eyes. Running to the bathroom, you reach for the bathroom door. You feel your clothes taken from you and turn to Liu Mei, who throws it far from the bathroom door. She chuckles evilly.

You mock her chuckle and grab her clothing, throwing it in a further direction, causing her to gasp.

You both run to your clothing, but Liu Mei jumps for you, causing you both to topple over. You reach for your clothing, but it's a fingertip away. However, Liu Mei's body weight stops you from grabbing it.

Your dorm room door opens, revealing Dylan whose eyes are wide at sight.

"Uhm...Liu Mei, what are you girls doing?" Taking note of Liu Mei being distracted.

"You're not allowed here, get out!" She gets up and pushes Dylan out of the dorm room and shuts the door.

You take your clothing and run into the bathroom with a victorious chuckle hearing a groan from Liu Mei.
