Author's Note:
I'm gonna start this by saying that the little moment between Allison and Isaac that happened in the back after Argent got taken, does not exist. Isaac does go with them to the bank but there is no moment between him and Allison that seems more than friends.

Chapter Thirty-Five
Alpha Pact

"Derek!" Wren said as roughly she patted Derek's cheek. Derek laid, passed out on the floor of the elevator with Wren and Stiles sitting next to him. "Let me try something." Stiles said and she gestured for him to have a go. Stiles slaps him harder then Wren did, the crack of palm to cheek filling the elevator. He pulls back, this time closing his fist before going in for a punch when Derek catches him by the wrist.

Blinking, he glances about the elevator and out its open doors to the deserted corridor. "Where is she?" Derek asked and Wren sighed, "Jennifer? Gone... with Melissa." She said making Derek look at her wide eyed. "She took her?" He asked and they both nodded, "Yeah, and if that's not enough of a kick to the balls, Scott left with Deucalion, okay? So, we gotta get you out of here. The police are coming right now, and we gotta get you the hell out of here." Stiles says.

With Stiles's and Wren's help, Derek begins to rise. But he pauses as another alarming realization hits him, "What about Cora?"

Stiles and Wren sat in the waiting area when Stiles looked over at the doors to see someone walking im. He sees the badge first. Blue letters in a white laminate around his neck - FBI. Then he sees the face, one he clearly recognizes and clearly doesn't like.

"Oh, just perfect." Stiles groaned making Wren look over at him and follow his train of sight. "You've got to be kidding me." She muttered as the man started walking over to the. "A Stilinski at the center of this whole mess. What a shocker." Agent McCall said before glancing at Wren, "No surprise that Wren is here as well."

Wren gave him a fake smile before holding up her middle finger making him chuckle and nodded slightly before looking at Stiles. "Think you can answer some questions without the usual level of sarcasm?" Agent McCall asked and Stiles shrugged slightly, "If you ask the questions without the usual level of stupid." Stiles says making Wren chuckle quietly.

"Where is your dad, and why's no one been able to contact him?" Agent McCall asked and Stiles sighed and shrugged, "I don't know. I haven't seen him in hours." Stiles said and Agent McCall nodded. "Is he drinking again?" He asked making both Stiles's and Wren's head snap up to look at him with glares. "What do you mean, "again?" He never had to stop." Stiles said irritably and Agent McCall nodded slightly, "But he did have to slow down. Is he drinking like he used to?" He said, the glares from the two teenagers not bothering him.

"All right, how about this? Next time I see him, I'll give him a field sobriety test, okay? We'll do the alphabet- start with F, end with U..." Stiles said impatiently making Agent McCall chuckle. "You're one to talk." Wren said making them both look at her while she just kept her glare on the older man.

"Excuse me?" Agent McCall asked, slightly taken aback, "I said, you're one to talk about drinking. Incase you've forgotten, do remember that I've seen you drink multiple times when I came over as a kid. And also, maybe lose the passive aggressive tone and at least act professional." Wren said and Agent McCall stared at her for a moment while she just glares back at him.

Agent McCall cleared his throat before nodding slightly, directing his attention back to Stiles. "How about you guys just tell me what the hell happened here?" He asked and Stiles shrugged, "I don't know what happened here. We were stuck in the elevators the whole time." Stiles said and Agent McCall furrowed his brows.

"You're not the one who put the name on the doors, are you?" He asked and Wren and Stiles glanced at each other confused, "What name?"

The elevator doors clang open and Wren, Stiles and Allison quickly follow Argent into the apartment. "The word is guardian, Allison- more than anyone, you know that's a role I haven't exactly lived up to lately." Argent said, leading them down the hallway into the office.

"But she took Scott's mother and Stiles' father. That's not a coincidence." Allison said and Wren nodded in agreement as she sitting down on one of the chairs, while the rest pause at the desk to look down on the five fold symbol etched onto its surface.

"Yeah. I'd also consider the fact that someone put your name up in large block letters on the elevator door. That kinda screams "WARNING" to me." Wren said and Allison nodded, "I think it might be Morrell. She knows a lot more than she lets on, and she might even be trying to help us."

"Well, she needs to get on that a lot faster, okay? Seeing as how the lunar eclipse is less than two freaking nights away." Stiles stressed and they watch him fall into the chair next to Wren, trying to keep it together. "Stiles, don't give up hope." Argent said and Stiles sighed. "They could already be dead." Stiles said and Argent shook his head, "There's something about Jennifer's tactics... It's like she's still positioning. Still moving pieces into place." He said.

"And you're one of them." Allison said and Argent nodded slightly, looking down at his desk. "Then, let's not wait around to see the next move." He says and draws the map back over the desk, covering the symbol. "Everything she's done has been on a telluric current, so Melissa and the Sheriff have to be somewhere on one of those currents, right?" Argent says, looking up at all if them, noticing that Stiles was barely paying attention.

"Stiles, if we're gonna find them, we need your help." Argent says and Stiles sighs, "You seriously want to go after her? I mean, what if she just takes you like the others, huh? No offense, but what's the difference between you and them?" Stiles asks and Argent raised his eyebrows and pulls open a drawer, reaching for an unseen object.

"I'm carrying a forty-five." Gun in hand, he slams in a new clip with a metallic clang. Wren nodded slighted with pursed lips before shrugging, "That works for me." She said and Argent chuckled slightly. "Maybe she can heal from a shot to the leg and a few slashes to the face, but personally, I'd like to see how she holds up with half her skull blown off."

"We've got one priority right now, and that is to find Melissa and your dad. We've got a map and every clue we need to figure this out- the only thing we don't have is time, which is why I need all of you." Argent said and Stiles looks at the ground deep in thought before sighing and looking up, "Where do we start?" He said.

Black light in one hand, Argent taps a finger to the marks on the map. "The places where the sacrifices have been committed have usually been different from where the bodies have been found. I think the placement has to do with the strength of the current, so there's the school, the animal clinic, the bank-" Argent explained and Stiles cut him off, "Wait a sec- she wouldn't use the same place twice, would she?" Stiles asked.

"Only if she didn't succeed the first time." Argent said making realization cross over Wren's features, "Deaton." She said and Argent nodded. "Deaton. It was her only failure. That could mean something." He moves a finger to the mark under Beacon Hills First National Bank.

"That's just one place so far. We're gonna need a lot more help." Stiles said and Wren thought for a moment, "What about Lydia?" She asked making Argent look at her confused, "Lydia? What can she do?" He asked. "Uh, Lydia's got sort of a talent... She somehow ended up finding a couple of the bodies, um... without actually looking for them." Stiles said.

"What is she? Psychic?" Argent said and Wren shook her head, "Banshee actually." She said making Stiles look over at her with hum and a slight nod. "So that's what she is." He nodding, "What's a banshee?" He asked making Wren sigh.

Black cases click open. An arsenal of guns, arrows, crossbows, compound bows, knives. Stiles and Wren watches Argent and Allison load up. "I thought you guys were retired...?" Stiles asked and Argent raised his eyebrows slightly. "Retired, yes. Defenseless? No. Make sure your phone's on. If you hear from Scott, you let us know immediately." Argent said and Stiles sighed, "Yeah, I'm thinking that's gonna be kind of unlikely..." He said and all three teenagers shared a look.

"Hey, try to remember- he's just doing what he thinks is right." Argent said and Wren looked over at Allison only to see her looking past her and Stiles. They all turn to the door where Isaac steps in. "I can't shoot a gun or use a crossbow, but... well..." He says then snaps open his hand to reveal his claws unsheathed, "I'm getting pretty good with these."

Eyes unblinking, a look of shock, Lydia slowly shakes her head and turns to Stiles and Wren. "I don't believe it. Scott can't really be with them. He can't be." Lydia said and Stiles sighed. "You didn't see the look on his face, though. It was..." Stiles trailed off, not behind able to form the right words.

"What can I do? I mean, I get that I'm some kind of, like, human Geiger-counter for death, but... I don't know how to turn it on and off yet. All I know is that she tried to kill me because of..." Lydia said before tailing off making Wren raise her eyebrows, "What?" She asked and Lydia looked back at them.

"When she called me a Banshee, she was surprised by it. What if that's not why she tried to kill me?" She said and they all glanced at each other. "Then why did she?" Stiles asked and Wren sighed, "That's what we need to find out." She said before walking towards the door.

The warning bell for the start of the next period. Hurrying into the corridor crowded with students between classes, Lydia follows Wren and Stiles while checking her phone. "Aiden's still not texting me back. Okay, well, maybe we could just... We could go over there, and..." Lydia says but trials off when Stiles's phone buzzes. He yanks it out and peers down at a text, expression changing immediately.

"What?" Wren asked worriedly, "It's from Isaac. Jennifer, she t- She has Allison's father. She took him. She's got all three, now." Stiles said and Wren sighed softly. "There's still time...We still have time, right?" Lydia asked and Wren sighed and shook her head, "Not a lot." She said.

Backing away, Stiles looks as if he might crumble, Wren looked at him and instantly noticed his breathing becoming strangely shallow. "Stiles?" She asked and he glanced at her, "I think I'm having a panic attack." Stiles said and Wren's eyes widen, "Okay, come on." She said, grabbing Stiles's hand and pulling him to the locker room. "Please make sure no one comes in here." Wren said, looking at Lydia who nodded.

Wren led Stiles into the locker room where he collapsed on the around against the end of the lockers. "I-I can't... I can't..." He said, breathing heavily and she gently grabbed his face. "Hey Stiles look at me, okay? Focus on me." She said and he looked up at her.

"In 7th grade, you and I got in huge trouble with your dad. What did we do?" She asked and he furrowed his brows slightly, "We... we bought a real sword from some highschool kid and accidentally cut the couch." He said and she nodded. "What did we go do on my 14th birthday?" She asked, "We went to an amusement park and it ended with... Scott throwing up on a guy's shoes after having an asthma attack." He said as his breathing started to even out and she nodded.

"What did we dress up as for Halloween in fifth grade?" She asked and he furrowd his brows as he thought for a moment. "You were dresses up as Padme Amidala and I was Obi Wan from The Phantom Menace." He said and Wren smiled when they both noticed that his panic attack was over.

"You remember what you used to do." He said and she shrugged slightly, "I got you out of at least five panic attacks after your mom died, of course I remember." She said and he chuckle. "At least you didn't try covering my mouth and nose to get my to hold my breath like you did the first time." He said and her eyes widened slightly as she nodded, "Yeah... that was bad." She said.

They both smiled at each other before Wren sighed and stood up, "Come on. We need to figure something out." She said, holding her hand out to help him up. "Crisis averted?" Lydia asked as they walked out and they both nodded, "If I was really smart, I would tell you to sign up for a few sessions with the guidance counselor." She said making realization crossed over Stiles's face.

"Morrell." He whispered before running off in the direction of Morrell's office. Lydia and Wren glanced at each other before running after him.

The door into the Guidance Office bangs open. Stiles, Wren and Lydia hurry inside to find Morrell's desk empty and a girl named Danielle waiting in a chair. "Are you here for Ms. Morrell?" Stiles asked, "No, I thought this was gym class." She said sarcastically making Lydia look at her with raised eyebrows. "Sweetheart, we're not in the mood for funny. Do you know where she is?" Lydia asked and Daniell scoffed.

"If I did, I wouldn't be waiting here for twenty minutes! So, how about you two back out the door and wait your turn?" She said and Wren rolled her eyes slightly, "Yeah we're not here for a session." She said. "Well I am- and I've got some serious issues to work on." Danielle said.

"Hey, wait, wait, wait- you're Danielle. You're Heather's best friend." Stiles asked and Danielle sighed slightly, "I was Heather's best friend. We've been working on that issue three times a week." She said as slight realization crossed over Lydia's features.

"Hold on- did you say Ms. Morrell's twenty minutes late?" Lydia asked and Danielle nodded, "And I don't know why, either. She's always on time." She said and Lydia turned to look at Stiles and Wren. "I was seeing her at the beginning of the semester. She was never late." Lydia said.

"What if we're not the only ones who think she knows something?" Wren suggested and Stiles glanced around for a moment, "Then I want to know what she knows." He said. "He looks over the desk and begins rifling through papers. Then moves to her file cabinet, yanking open drawers. "What are you doing?" Wren asked and he didn't look up and just continued shuffling through files, "Trying to find her."

"Those files are private!" Danielle said and Lydia nodded in agreement, "Yeah, she's kind of right." Lydia said and Stiles held up a file. "That one's yours." He said and Lydia instantly grabbed it, "Let me see that."

"Wait, Lydia- that's your drawing." Wren said as Lydia opened the file to see one of her drawings and she nodded slowly, "Yeah, I know. It's a tree." She said. "Good one too." Danielle said making Lydia smile at her, "Thank you." She said.

"No, but that's the same one, though." Wren said making them look at him confused, "Same as what?" Lydia asked. "The same one I always see her drawing." Wren said and Lydia shrugged, "It's a tree. I like drawing trees." She said and Wren shook her head.

"No, but it's the exact same one. Don't you see? Give me your bag." She said as she grabbed Lydia's bag, unzips it, and pulls out her notebook. Flipping pages, she finds a drawing of the tree and putting it on the desk to show them. 'There- see?" Wren asked and Lydia stares at it in confusion.

She compares the two drawings, they're exactly the same down to each branch. Wren flips the page to a third drawing, then to another. She keeps flipping pages to see that Lydia has been drawing the same tree over and over. "Okay, you can have my session. You got bigger issues." Danielle said before grabbing her bag and walking out.

"What is this?" Lydia muttered.

Stiles doesn't respond, gaze fixed on the drawing. Slowly and carefully, he rotates the notebook upside down. From this view, the branches of the tree don't look like branches at all. They look like roots.

"I know where they are."

Lydia and Wren hurried after Stiles, all of them rushing to the exit. "It's the Nemeton. That's where she's keeping them. It has to be." Stiles says and went to say something else but someone called out to them.

"Stilinski!" Someone called out behind them making them turn around. Two Deputies with him, Agent McCall appears at the end of the corridor. Stiles sighs before turning to Lydia, speaking fast. "All right, look- go to Derek, okay? He and Peter, they've been there before, so they'll know where it is. Tell them it's the root cellar, all right? They'll know."

With a quick nod, Lydia turns for the stairs. "You're not gonna go with her?" Stiles asked and Wren shook her head, "And leave you to deal with him alone? Absolutely not." She said as Agent McCall reaches them, a dire expression on his face. "Did you know your dad's car is in the school parking lot and has been since last night?" Agent McCall says looking at Stiles, "No, what does that mean?"

"It means he's officially missing."

The setting sun bleeds in through the windows of the classroom, empty except for the Agent McCall, Wren and Stiles. Agent McCall leans against the teachers desk while Stiles and Wren sit next to each other on one of the student's desks. "Stiles, why am I getting the feeling you know something that could help us find your dad?" Agent McCall says and Stiles squints at him, "If I did, why would I not tell you?"

"If it meant helping your dad, why wouldn't you?"

"So, you're asking me to tell you what I wouldn't not tell you?" Stiles asks sarcastically making Wren chuckle slightly, "First, I have no idea what you just said. Second, how about you just help me help you?" Agent McCall sighed. "Well, I don't know how to help you help me tell you something that would help you if I don't know it." Stiles says and Wren laughed quietly while shaking her head. "Are you doing this on purpose?"

"I don't know anything, okay? Can we just go?" Stiles asked tiredly and Agent McCall sighed. "Where are your other friends besides Wren?" Agent McCall asked and Stiles raised his eyebrows, "You mean Scott?" Stiles scoffed.

"I mean Scott... I mean Isaac Lahey, Allison Argent, these twins, Ethan and Aiden... I've been told your whole little clique didn't show up at school today." Agent McCall said as he
