Chapter Fourteen
๐ŸฆŽ Shape Shifted ๐ŸฆŽ

Mr. Lahey speeds down the dark road as raindrops pelt the windshield. He turns down a road and glanced down into an alley way before slowing to a stop when he saw an abandoned bike laying on the ground. He furrowed his brows and rolled his window down before calling out, "Isaac!" He yelled and waited for a moment before rolling the window back up.

He got out the car, roughly slamming the door shut before walking down the ally. "Isaac!" He yelled as he walked towards the bike, "Isaac. Isaac?" He asked before taking his glasses off, squinting slightly when he saw a figure standing at the end of the ally. "Isaac?" He asked before wiping his glasses off, putting them back in to see the ally empty.

"Okay, that's enough. Let's go!" Lahey said before taking his glasses off again, "That's it, grab your bike and let's go!" He said before noticing the figure again. "Isaac?" He asked before slowly holding his glasses up to see a lizard like creatures slowly crouch down. He quickly out his glasses back on and his eyes widened, "Holy-" He yelled before running back to his car.

He quickly got back in his car and tied to  close his door, "No! No! No!" He yelled as the creature tried to pull the door open. Suddenly the creature ripped the door clean off and Lahey screamed as the creature charged at him. His screams got quite as his blood dripped to the ground, washing away a bit with the rain.

Wren suddenly shot up in bed, breathing heavily as she glanced around still in her bed room. Natalie ran into the room making Wren look at her, "Are you okay, hon?" Natalie asked. "Yeah, why?" Wren asked and Natalie looked at her worriedly, "It sounded like you were having a nightmare." She said as she pushed some of Wren's hair out of her face and Wren sighed.

"I'm fine, mom. Like you said, just a nightmare. Nothing serious." She said and Natalie raised her eyebrows, "Mind if I asked what it was about?" She asked. Weren't went to say something but paused slightly before shaking her head, "I don't remember." She said and Natalie smiled at her softly.

"Try to get some more sleep, you still have a few hours until school." Natalie said and Wren nodded before Natalie walked out.

"You really don't remember anything?" Allison asked and she, Wren and Lydia walked up to the school's entrance. "They called it a "fugue state," which is basically a way of saying, "We have no idea why you can't remember running through the woods naked for two days." But, personally, I don't care." Lydia said, shrugging, "I lost nine pounds." She said said making Wren and Allison chuckle.

"Are you ready for this?" Allison asked and Lydia scoffed, "Please. It's not like my aunt's a serial killer." She says then turns around and heads towards the door. Allison turned to Wren in shock while Wren just watched Lydia with pursed lips. "At least we know we have our Lydis back." Wren said, looking over at Allison who just chuckled and shook her head before they both followed Lydia.

Wren, Allison and Lydia step into the student-filled corridor. When the door clangs shut, every single eye turns to focus on Lydia as the crowd hushes to a dead silence. Lydia took a deep breath looking around at all the looks people were giving her. "Maybe it's the nine pounds." Allison whispered to her making Wren quickly chuckle.

After a few agonizingly awkward seconds, Lydia whips her hair around. And owns it. "There's my sister that we know and love." Wren said and her and Allison glanced at each other with smiles before following after Lydia.

Wren walked up to the field only to see Scott run out of goal and tackle one of the players and sniffed them. She walked over to Stiles who stood in the line of lacrosse players. "What are you making Scott do?" She asked making his jaw fall open in offense, "Why do you automatically assume this is my doing?" Stiles asked and she just raised her eyebrows at him while Coach yelled at Scott.

"Because I highly doubt Scott is physically capable of coming up with a plan like this." She said and Stiles thought for a moment before nodding. "Okay, Scott said he there's another Werewolf on the team. He's trying to figure out who it is by scent." He said and her eyes widen.

She glanced around before looking at Isaac Lahey who stood in front of them. All of the sudden she saw flashes of Isaac with canines and glowing yellow eyes. "Wren?" Stiles asked as he grabbed her arm making her look at him, "You okay?" He asked and she nodded. "Yeah, I just spaced out for a moment. Trying to think sho it could be." She said.

Coach blew the whistle and tossed the ball to Isaac. He catches it without even looking and charged forward. Scott soon charges out of the goal and runs directly at Isaac, both of them hitting each other with a loud smack. "Hey, Stiles. Why is your dad here?" Wren asked making Stiles following her train of sight to see his father and a couple deputies walking towards the field.

Gathered at the benches, the players whisper about what's going on with Isaac who remains on the field talking to Stilinski, his Deputies and Coach.

Off to the side, Wre , Stiles and Scott huddle together. "Can you hear them?" Stiles asked and Scott, "His father's dead. They think he was murdered." Scott said making them all glance at each other. The three of them watch as Stilinski and his Deputies begin guiding Isaac off the field. "Did they say he's a suspect?" Stiles asked and Scott shrugged, "I don't think so why?" Scott asked.

"Because they can lock him in a holding cell for 24 hours." Stiles said making Wren raise her eyebrows, "You mean over night on a full moon." She said and he nodded. "How good are these holding cells at holding people?" Scott asked and Stiles sighed, "People? Good. Werewolves? Probably not that good."

"Guys, remember when I said I don't have the urge to maim and kill?" Scott asked and they nodded, "Yeah..."

"He does."

๐ŸฆŽ

"There you are!" Stiles yelled as him and Scott walk down the hall making Wren look up from trying to listen in on Stilinski and Jackson. "What are you guys doing here?" She asked as they sat down next to her, "Same as you, wanted to see what Jackson was telling my dad." Stiles said.

"What did you guys do to get out of Harris' class?" She asked and Stiles smirked, "Threw a paper ball at Harris." He said making her jaw drop while she gasp, "I missed that?!? That's not fair." She said and they chuckled.

"Did you hear anything?" Scott asked and she sighed, "Yeah, Jackson lived across the street from Isaac and knew that Isaac's dad used to beat him and never did anything about it." She said and then the door opened making Stiles scramble to reach over Wren and grab a magazine to cover his face as his dad walked out.

Stilinski looks at his son and sighed before looking at Scott and Wren, "Hi Scott, Wren." He said and they smiled and waved at him. He took one more look at his son before walking away. "So smooth." Wren said sarcastically making Stiles playfully glare at her. "Boys, and girl." Someone said making them look over to Gerard standing in the door way, "Come on in" He said.

"Wren Martin." Gerard said while he read her file, "Straight As in every class, including a couple AP classes and a creative writing class. Scott McCall... Academically not the most accomplished, but I see you have become quite the star athlete! Mr. Stilinski... Oh, perfect grades, but little to no extracurriculars. Maybe you should try lacrosse?"

"Oh, actually, I'm already-"

"Hold on... McCall. You're the Scott that was dating my granddaughter." Gerard says making Scott's eyes widen anxiously, "We were dating, but not anymore. Not dating, not seeing any of each other, or doing anything with each other at all." Scott says making Wren sigh and pinch the bridge of her nose.

"Relax, Scott. You look like you're about to crack a cyanide pill with your teeth." Gerard chucked and Scott just looked st him awkwardly, "Just a hard breakup."

"Oh, that's too bad. You seem like a pretty nice kid to me. Now, listen, guys. Yes, I am the principal, but I really don't want you to think of me as the enemy." Gerard said making Wren hum slightly. "However, this being my first day, I do need to support my teachers. So, unfortunately, two people are going to have to take the fall and stay behind for detention."

Scott instantly looked over at Stiles and Wren for moment until they looked up and saw everyone looking at them making Wren sigh. "This is so not going to look good on my college application."

๐ŸฆŽ

"I hate him so much." Wren mumbled as she went to call Allison back while she and Stiles walked over to his jeep. They had went into detention while the sun was still up. It's dark out now and Allison had called Wren like ten times. "Hey, sorry, The demon from hell literally just let us out of detention- literally- and he had our phones the whole time."

"Well, we need to do something right now. They were asking me all these questions about Lydia and how she was bitten by Peter, and then they sent this guy out." Allison said as Stiles started driving, "Wait, what guy?" Wren asked. "He was dressed as a Sheriff's deputy." Allison said and Wren glanced over at Stiles, "They're sending him to the station for Isaac." She said making Stiles look at her.

"He was also carrying this box with something on it. Like, um, like, a carving or something..." Allison said and Wren furrowed her brows, "What was it?" She asked. "Hold on, hold on... It's in one of these books..I'm taking a picture. Did you get it?" Allison asked and Wren looked down at her phone to see a very familiar flower making her sigh, "Yeah. Wolfsbane."

"What does that mean?"

"It means they're gonna kill him... Okay, um... I need you to slow him down while we come up with a plan." Wren said and she could imagine Allison nodding, "I can do that. I'll call you when I'm done." Allison said before hanging up.

Blake looked over at Stiles who had been glancing back and forth from the road to her the whole time she was on the phone. "The Argents sent a guy out in a deputy suit with wolfsbane. So we need a plan." She said and he nodded and thought for a moment. "Okay, yeah. Yeah, I got an idea." He said making her raise her eyebrows at him, "Does it involves sneaking into the station, stealing keys and breaking Isaac out?" She asked and he pursed his lips for a second before smiling. "I forget how well you know me sometimes." He said and she chuckled and shook her head.

Her phone started ringing making her look down to see it was Allison, "Hey, did you slow him down?" She asked. "You could say that..." Allison said making Wren raise her eyebrows, "Not sure how I feel about the sound of that. But Stiles and I are heading to the station right now." Wren said. "Where's Scott?" Allison asked, "Isaac's." Wren said and she could imagine Allison raising her eyebrows.

"Does he have a plan?"

"Yeah, but not a good one, and unfortunately, we don't really have time to come up with anything better."

๐ŸฆŽ

"Okay. Now, the keys to every cell are in a password-protected lock-box in my father's office. The problem is getting past the front desk." Stiles said as him, Wren and Derek sat outside the station. "I'll distract her." Derek said and went to get out but Stiles grabbed his arm and stopped him, "Whoa, whoa, whoa! You? You're not going in there." Stiles said and Derek just looked at Stiles's hand with raised eyebrows, "I'm taking my hand off."

"I was exonerated." Derek said and Stiles looked at him crazy, "You're still a person of interest." Stiles said and Derek just rolled his eyes. "An innocent person." Derek said making Stiles look appalled, "An-You? Yeah, right! Okay, fine. What's your plan?"

"To distract her."

"Uh-huh. How? By punching her in the face?"

"Heh. By talking to her."

"Okay. All right. Give me a sample. What are you gonna open with? Dead silence. That should work beautifully. Any other ideas?" Stiles asked and Derek gave him a look. "I'm thinking about punching you in the face." Derek said making Stiles scoff before Wren leaned forward.

"You guys do know that arguing isnt going to get Isaac out right?" She asked making them look at her and she have them a look, "All you're doing is giving the hunter more time to kill Isaac. So one of you go and talk to her already." She said before they all got out.

Stiles pulled Wren into the dark office and goes for the lock box on the wall. He quickly types in a series of numbers then gives a self-satisfied smile when the box pops open. Reaching up, the smile disappears from his face, "What's wrong?" Wren whispered making him look at her.

"They're gone." He said making her eyes widened, "You think the hunter already got them?" She asked and he sighed and shrugged. "I don't know. Come on." He said, grabbing her hand and they walked out of the office and rounded a corner, only to run into a deputy.

"Oh, hey. Sorry. I was just looking
for my..." Stiles says, but trails off when they noticed the blood dripping from the man's leg. Stiles turns to run, but the Hunter grabs him, hand slipping over his mouth before he can shout for help. He starts pulling Stiles in the direction of the cells making Stiles pull the fire alarm in the process.

Wren sighed before quickly following after them, she ran into the room right as the hunter dropped Stiles and pulled out a syringe. Wren shot out and grabbed the man's wrist making him look at her and her eyes widened slightly, knowing she can't fight him off. All of the sudden Isaac shot out pushing the hunter into a table while Wren quickly backed up.

Isaac slammed the man into the wall and the man went to stab him with the syringe but Isaac grabbed his wrist. He twisted the man's wrist making him drop the syringe before Isaac slammed his head against the wall. Derek walked into the room and stepped on the syringe making Isaac look at him.

Isaac looked at him before looking at Wren, going to step forward but Derek grabbed her arm, pulling her back before letting out a roar. Isaac drops down, cowering back with his arms over his head. When he slowly pulls them away, he's transformed back to human, now just a teenager again, confused and frightened.

Derek looked at Wren before glancing over at Stiles who was on the ground in the corner. "How'd you do that?" He asked making Derek smirk, "I'm the alpha." He said and Wren raised her eyebrows. "That was cocky." She said, smiling awkwardly when Derek gave her a look.
