Despite wanting nothing more than to get away from Harry and Gil, Rylee and Morgan followed them through the alleys of the Isle. After walking for about twenty minutes, they came to a stop in front of a very old-looking building with the sea located just on the other side. The Fitzherbert girl stared at the tall structure for a long moment before her attention turned toward the two boys in front of her. "What are we doing here?"
The only response she received was a smirk from Harry before he and Gil opened the huge doors of the building and walked inside. Rylee and Morgan instantly shared a skeptical look then cautiously followed after them. They continued to follow the boys up the many flights of stairs until they ended up on the roof of the building. The princesses stayed near the door while the pirates stopped at the edge and turned to face the girls. Neither Rylee nor Morgan moved an inch closer towards them, making an annoyed look appear on Harry's face while Gil simply smiled at them.
"Are you coming?" the son of Captain Hook asked, only for Rylee to cross her arms over her chest.
"Not until you tell me what you're planning," the daughter of Rapunzel and Eugene responded with a quirk of her eyebrow.
"Come over here and I'll show you."
Despite wanting nothing more than to walk out of the building, Rylee let out a long sigh before she and Morgan walked over to the boys. As soon as the two girls reached them, Gil began to take off his bandana, belt, and boots while Harry removed his hat, coat, and boots. The Hook boy placed his belongings next to the LeGume boy's before he hid his hook behind a loose stone.
"What is going on?" Morgan questioned after she and Rylee exchanged another confused look.
"There's one rule on the Isle that all of us tend to follow," Harry told them before a sly smirk appeared on his face as she gestured out toward the water below them, "if you have a fear that can be conquered, you conquer it."
"You want her to jump?!"
The realization of what the pirate wanted her to do hit Rylee like a truck as she stared at him with wide eyes. Panic continued to course through her veins as she took a few steps toward the door. If it came down to it, the Fitzherbert girl wanted to be prepared to outrun these pirates.
"It'll be fun! We do it all the time!" Gil answered as the childish smile on his face grew larger than humanly possible.
"No way!" Rylee shouted, drawing everyone's attention to her as she continued to slowly back up toward the exit, "there's no way I'm jumping off of a building!"
As soon as the words finished leaving her mouth, the blonde girl turned around and was about to sprint out the door when a pair of arms wrapped around her waist. Rylee struggled to break free from her captor's grasp, only to fail as he carried her back to the edge of the building. It wasn't long after that when Harry set her down at the very edge while keeping his hands on her shoulders. The Fitzherbert girl just stared down at the water below her while her thoughts ran rampant in her head, completely unaware of Gil keeping Morgan from helping her best friend.
"Take off what you don't want to get wet," the raven-haired boy whispered into the blonde girl's ear, sending chills up her spine before a small laugh passed over the pirate's lips, "I suggest taking off your jacket. It's not easy swimming in leather."
Rylee hesitated for a long moment before she felt Harry's grip around her shoulders tighten. When she finally realized there was no getting out of it, the Fitzherbert girl let out a shaky sigh then she took off her jacket, boots, and necklace and put them next to Harry's belongings. It wasn't long after that when Rylee went back to looking down at the water below before she looked up at Harry with pleading eyes. "Do I really have to?"
"Yes," the Hook boy answered with a hint of boredom in his voice while the Fitzherbert girl turned back to face the sea.
"We're really high up. Is there any way-"
Rylee's sentence was cut off when Harry pushed her off the edge of the building. The world seemed to slow down around her with nothing but her own scream filling her ears. The panic within the blonde girl continued to rise as she tightly shut her eyes before she fell into the water. A long moment passed before she was able to regain her bearings and swim up to get air. As soon as she broke through the surface, she heard a loud splash before she was hit by a small wave. Annoyance replaced the panic that was once running through her veins as she turned her direction toward the splash to find Harry staring at her with a large smirk on his face.
"I hate you."
"I hate you too," the pirate responded to the princess before he let out a small laugh, "but was it really that hard?"
The Fitzherbert girl just stared at him for a long moment before looking up at the top of the building. All the emotions she was previously feeling seemed to vanish after spotting the minuscule outlines of Morgan and Gil looking down at us.
"I jumped from up there?" Rylee asked, unable to fight the smile making its way onto her face.
"Technically, I pushed you...but yes."
Amazement filled every inch of Rylee's body then she went back to staring at the building. That only continued for a short moment before Gil dove into the water followed by Morgan. A small laugh escaped the Fitzherbert girl's lips as she turned around to face the raven-haired pirate, only to find Harry staring right back at her with a smirk on his face. "Well? Was it really that bad?"
"It was...pretty awesome," Rylee responded as the smile on her face grew before their attention was drawn to Gil when he began speaking.
"Now for..." the LeGume boy interrupted himself before he turned in a half-circle to face Morgan, "uh, what's your name? Your real name?"
The Macintosh girl somewhat hesitated as she glanced over at her blonde friend. The two of them just stared at each other for a long moment, contemplating if they should reveal their true identities. It wasn't long after that when Rylee sent her a small nod before they shared a smile. "Morgan."
"That's beautiful," the blonde boy told her, causing a blush to spread across the redheaded girl's cheeks.
"And yours?" Harry asked, making the blonde girl turn her attention away from her flustered friend to look at the raven-haired boy.
"Rylee," she answered, only to receive a nod in response from the boy before a question she should've asked a while ago popped into her head, "did you really want me to conquer my fear? Or did you just wanna push me off a roof?"
The Hook boy's immediate response was sending the princess another smirk. "Can't it be both?"
Rylee couldn't help but scoff before splashing water at the pirate without thinking, causing an irritated glare to replace his smirk. It wasn't long after that when a wicked grin reappeared on his face before he submerged underwater. The Fitzherbert girl instantly began looking around in the water to try to find the Hook boy, only to be greeted by the gloomy water. Her eyebrows soon scrunched together in confusion before she looked over at Morgan and Gil, only to find that the latter had a childish smile on his face.
Before the blonde girl could say anything to the LeGume boy, something grabbed her ankle and pulled her underwater. She was dragged deeper and deeper into the sea as she fought back the panic that began to course through her veins. Rylee barely lasted another moment before starting to thrash around in an attempt to free herself. It wasn't long after that when she got herself loose and managed to make out the blurry figure of Harry in front of her. Despite wanting nothing more than to slap the son of Captain Hook, Rylee gave into her panic and began swimming to the top of the sea.
Once she broke through the surface, the Fitzherbert girl took in enough air to fill her lungs. She did this a few times in order to slow her breathing before turning around to find Harry staring at her with a smirk on his face. Her fear instantly transformed into anger before she splashed water at him again and swam toward the shore. Rylee didn't hesitate to walk back to the entrance of the building after reaching the beach before she began her journey to the top. When Morgan finally caught up to her, the concerned redhead made her blonde girl turn around to face her.
"Are you okay?" the Macintosh girl questioned, only to receive a simple shrug from her usually vocal best friend, "let's get our stuff and get out of here before dumb and dumber catch up."
Rylee sent her a small nod before they the two of them turned around and raced up the stairs. When they finally reached the roof, the Fitzherbert girl went to grab her belongings that she put near the edge of the building while Morgan grabbed hers.
"I really wanna ditch them before we have to conquer my fear," Morgan said in an attempt to lighten the mood. And when she turned around, she found her efforts were successful when she saw a smile on Rylee's face.
"I definitely agree with you on that one," the Fitzherbert girl responded as she slipped her jacket over her shoulders before adjusting her hair, "I don't feel like fighting a bear today."
Once they finished collecting our stuff, the two princesses began to make their way back down the stairs. Just as they thought they finally escaped the two crazy pirates, Rylee and Morgan found Harry and Gil waiting for them at the only exit of the building. The princesses stopped in their tracks and stared at the pirates before letting out sighs and walking toward them.
"What's wrong, princess?" Harry asked with a smirk as soon as the two girls got close enough to them.
"You seriously have to ask?" Rylee responded, only for the Hook boy to quirk his eyebrow in response. That was all it took for the Fitzherbert girl to let out another annoyed sigh and continued speaking. "You pushed me off a building and dragged me underwater. You could've killed me! Twice!"
Silence surrounded them as Rylee and Harry began to have a glaring contest. Due to their distraction, both of them were completely unaware of Gil walking over to Morgan and whispering something into her ear. It wasn't long after that when they went back into the building.
"You're going to have many life-threatening situations on the Isle so you better get used to it," Harry declared, breaking the silence without taking his eyes off of Rylee
"I'm not staying here forever. You and I both know that," the Fitzherbert girl responded, adding to the tension that continued to surround them.
The two of them fell into silence again as Harry began to study the girl in front of him. Rylee did her best not to squirm as the boy's eyes scanned over every inch of her face before their eyes met once again.
"The question is do you really want to go back?" the Hook boy questioned, only to receive a confused look from the blonde girl as the former took a few steps forward to stand directly in front of her, "from what you and Morgan told us, the two of you were outcasts and didn't have many people who understood you."
"We have plenty of people who understand us," Rylee retaliated while fighting the urge to step away from the pirate.
"Like your precious King?" the pirate scoffed before the princess watched his smirk return to his face, "do you really think he understands you? He's a perfect rule-follower while you're a misfit...just like me."
"I am nothing like you," the Fitzherbert girl hissed, just for the grin on the Hook boy's face to grow before he let out a small chuckle.
"I doubt that. He probably expects you to be just like him."
"Ben knows Morgan and me better than almost everyone. He wouldn't try to change anything about us."
"Again, I doubt that," Harry responded before circling Rylee as if he was a predator stalking his prey, "how many times has he asked you to attend a ball? Or asked you to 'behave'? How many times have you had to not act like yourself to please him?"
The Fitzherbert girl did her best not to let the Hook boy's questions get to her, but she hopelessly failed. Her mind started replaying the times Ben asked her and Morgan to do things we would never do or pretend to be people we're not. It wasn't much but it was enough to stand out to Rylee. She just didn't know if it was the pirate's words or if the King's actions actually bothered her. When she finally broke free from her thoughts, Rylee found Harry standing a foot away from her with a wicked grin on his face while she continued to glare at him.
"I bet he would love for you to be a perfect little princess," he whispered as his eyes scanned over every inch of her face, "but just face it you were meant to be a villain."
"My parents aren't villains and neither am I."
"Just because your parents aren't villains doesn't mean you can't be one."
