Nikshant pov:

I opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was my wife, who was clinging to me like a koala, her head resting on my chest, her legs tangled with mine, and her hand entangled in my torso. An unknown feeling rushed through my veins, but I quickly shrugged off that strange feeling.

You can't feel anything for her.

You just hate her.

I moved her hands and legs aside and placed her head on the pillow. I got out of bed and went to the bathroom. After taking a shower, I came out of the bathroom and went to the closet. I put on a business suit and stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my tie. After adjusting my tie, I looked at her, who was still sleeping, and then left the room.

I moved towards the kitchen and made a black coffee for myself. After drinking the coffee, I left the house and sat in my car. The driver started the car and we headed towards my office. I switched on my phone and saw a message from Danish.

Danish:

'Sir, your meeting with Mr. Sachdeva is at 1 pm in his office.'

I saw his message and switched off my phone, keeping it in my pocket. There were many things roaming in my mind, but I didn't have any answers. The only person who can tell me is Karanveer Sachdeva.

Everyone says that curiosity kills people.

And this is happening to me.

I just wanted to meet Mr. Sachdeva and find out the reason for Aaravi's panic attacks.

"Sir, we have reached the office," Mukesh, my driver, said respectfully.

I snapped out of my thoughts, got out of the car, and moved towards my office. After entering the office, I went to my floor using the private elevator and entered my cabin, sitting down in my chair. But I couldn't stop thinking about Aaravi. I let out a deep sigh, trying to concentrate on my work, but I couldn't focus.

I know I'm fucked up.

Very fucked up.

I took out my phone and thought of calling Aaravi, but then I realized I didn't have her number.

Fuck  you, Nikshant Roy Kapoor.

You can't even get a number.

I dialed Danish's number, and he picked up after one ring.

"Good morning, sir. What do you need? Sir, you don't have any meetings today except with Mr. Sachdeva," That moron can't keep quiet.

"Shut up, Danish, and let me speak," I said in an irritated voice.

"Sorry, sir," Danish apologized.

"I need Aaravi's number in two minutes,"I ordered.

"Pati hone patni ka number nahi hai kya zamana aagya hai" Danish murmured.

(A husband doesn't even have his wife's number? What has the world come to)

He thinks I can't hear him.

"I heard what you said,"

"I'm sorry, sir. I'll get Aaravi ji's number for you right away,"

"Not Aaravi ji, say ma'am or Mrs. Kapoor,"

"Sorry, sir, I mean ma'am."

Exactly 2 minutes later, someone knocked on my cabin door. I knew who it was.

"Come in,"

"Hello sir, um, sir," I narrowed my eyes and looked at Danish, whose face was sweating.

"What happened, Danish? Did you get Aaravi's number?"I asked him, narrowing my brows.

"Actually sir, there's no information about Aaravi ma'am, just her name and nothing else. It seems Mr. Sachdeva has kept everything hidden about her," Frustration rushed through my veins and I closed my eyes before slamming the desk.

"I don't know how, but I need Aaravi's number. Do whatever it takes and get me the number, did you get that?"I roared.

"Y...e...s, sir," Danish stammered.

"Why are you still standing here? Get out of my cabin,"he quickly left the cabin.

You fucking bastard, Karanveer.

Author's pov:

Someone's phone rang, and a hand slowly moved towards the sound of the ringing phone, picked it up, and brought it to her ear.

"Alice," someone said on the other side of the phone.

"Yes," Alice said and sat on the bed.

"Alice, are you okay? I mean, nothing happened, right?" the guy asked concernedly.

"I'm fine, Alex. Did you do what I told you to do?" Alice asked, her voice cold as ice.

"Yeah, we've caught him and kept him in the basement. We were just waiting for your orders," Alex said.

"What orders? Kill him. And after killing him, take a photo of the body," Alice said mischievously.

"Are you sure, Alice? He is your-"

Alice stopped Alex.

"He is nothing to me. Do as I said," Alice said.

"Okay, Alice,"Alex said.

"And did you find that guy?" Alice asked Alex.

"No, there's no trace of him, like he doesn't exist," Alex said frustratedly.

"I left that house and came to this house so he wouldn't find out. And you haven't been able to find him in two years, Alex? Are there no experts left in the team, or do I need to find a new crew?" Alice yelled at Alex.

"We are trying, Alice, but he doesn't leave any hints, as if he doesn't want anyone to know who he is," Alex said sincerely.

"I don't care, Alex. I just want him, and I want to kill him with my own hands. Does he think I won't find out what's going on?" Alice said.

"We'll find him soon. Just take care of yourself, hmm? Don't stress yourself, Alice, it's not good for your health," Alex said, and Alice hummed in response.

"Okay, meet me after two days at Beacon Restaurant. We have many things to discuss," Alice said.

"Okay, text me the date and time," Alex said and ended the call.

Alice looked at her phone, and a painful smile appeared on her face.

Thinking this, an evil smile appeared on Alice's face.

"This is just the beginning of your destruction. Death is the price for what you did to us, and you will receive it very soon," Alice smiled devilishly.

Nikshant pov:

I'm waiting in Mr. Sachdeva's cabin, but there's no sign of him. I tapped my shoes on the marble floor, and then I heard the sound of a door opening. I turned to see who it was and saw Mr. Sachdeva's secretary coming in with a coffee in his hand.

"Mr. Kapoor, Mr. Sachdeva is on his way,"his secretary said and placed the coffee cup on the table before leaving.

Whenever I see a coffee cup, it reminds me of yesterday's incident, and I feel even more guilty. I shouldn't have done that to her.

"Oh, look whoโ€™s here in my office, Mr. Nikshant Roy Kapoor,"I snapped out of my thoughts upon hearing Mr. Sachdeva's mocking tone.

"I didn't come here for any arguments, Mr. Sachdeva," I rolled my eyes at him.

"Why did you come, then? Do you want to divorce my sister? If you want, I fully agree, and I can have the papers ready," Karanveer said, and I rolled my eyes again.

"I don't want a divorce, Mr. Sachdeva," I gritted my teeth.

"So why did you come?"Karanveer asked, and I liked it because I don't enjoy unnecessary chatter. I prefer to get straight to the point.

"Did something happen to Aaravi in the past that causes her to have these attacks?" I asked and looked at his face, which had turned stern.

"I don't know anything,"he said. I looked at him as if I would kill him right in his cabin.

"Karanveer, I'm your good damn friend. As a friend, you can tell me," I said, irritated.

Yes, Karanveer and I were friends since college.

"Were. I was your friend, but not after that incident," he said coldly.

"It wasn't my fault, Karanveer. It was all just a misunderstanding," I spoke.

"For you, everything is just a misunderstanding, Nik, but not for me," he said, and I closed my eyes out of frustration.

"Well, let's put our issues aside and talk about why I came here," I said.

"That's your problem; you always put things aside. For six years, it's been put aside," he yelled.

"Don't yell at me, Karan. I'm here to talk about your sister and my wife." He calmed down after hearing the word 'sister.'

"What happened? Is she alright? Did she have a panic attack again?" he said concernedly.

"Again? You mean this has happened to her before?" I asked.

"She's been having panic attacks for seven years," Karan said, his voice filled with guilt.

"But what happened to her?"

Karanveer got up from his chair and went to stand by the glass wall.

"Who am I to tell you this? Aaravi will tell you because it's her life," Karanveer said.

"Karan, if she had told me, why would I come here to ask you?" I said.

"She will tell you herself when the right time comes," Karanveer said.

"Okay, my meeting time is up. Iโ€™ll leave now," Karanveer said and left the cabin.

I sighed and left the cabin.

After leaving his cabin, my phone rang. I checked and saw that Mom was calling me.

"Good afternoon, Mom," I greeted her.

"Good afternoon, dear. Today, take Aaravi to her parents' place, and bring her to our house in the evening," Mom said.

"She can go by herself too, right?"

"Nikshant," Mom said firmly.

"Okay, I understand, Mom. Iโ€™ll drop her off."

"Thatโ€™s my good boy. Bye," she said and ended the call.

I returned home to pick up Aaravi. I stopped the car in front of the house, honked the horn, and saw Aaravi coming out in a red saree. My world stopped.

She looked like Goddess Durga Maa in that red saree.

I couldnโ€™t take my eyes off her.

I was mesmerized by her beauty.

She looked so elegant and classy.

I quickly shifted my gaze from her and looked at the road.

She came and sat in the passenger seat.

I noticed her hand, which no longer had a bandage.

"Tumhari chhot kaisi hai abh"

(How is your wound now)

"Zakham dene wale ko marhaam lagate huye sobha nahi deti "

(AN: I really don't know iska translation kya doon ๐Ÿ˜ญ)

She left me speechless.

I wanted to say sorry to her for what I did yesterday, but I couldn't bring myself to do it because I've never said sorry to anyone in my life.I chose to remain silent.

The entire ride was quiet and awkward after her words.

I dropped her off at her parents' house and then drove back to my own place.

I came home, lay on the couch, and closed my eyes. As soon as I did, her face appeared in my mind, wearing a red saree, vermillion, mangalsutra, a bindi, bangles, and anklets.

The sound of her anklets gave me a sense of peace.

I suddenly opened my eyes.

You can't think like that.

You hate her.

Yes, you hate her.

Nothing about her gives you peace.

Everything about her makes you angry.

Yes, it only makes you angry and nothing else.

I moved towards my study room to do some work.

I entered my study room, sat in a chair, opened a drawer, took out some documents, and started studying them.

After studying the documents, I looked at my wristwatch; it was 5 p.m. It was time to pick up Aaravi, so I left the study room and went out of the house.

I got into the car and drove to her place. Shortly after, I arrived in front of her house, got out of the car, and went inside.

As soon as I entered the house, I heard someone yelling. I followed the sound and saw Mr. Sachdeva shouting at Aaravi.

My eyes darkened, and I clenched my jaw.

"Damn it, it's been only two days since you left your husband here and went away. And what did I tell you? Not to step into this house again, but no, you had to listen to me. Why don't you just go and die?" I saw Aaravi flinch and clutch her saree tightly.

"Watch your tongue, Mrs. Sachdeva, when you're talking to my wife. Otherwise, it won't take me two minutes to cut it off,' I said, walking towards them and grabbing Aaraviโ€™s hand tightly,"
