The night in the dorms was as peaceful as it could get as you and Heeseung spread around the couch and tried to get some work done.

The first hour or so would be productive until one of you managed to blurt out something that had happened like Heeseung making you smile after informing you that he saw Sunghoon approached Jake on his way to your room in the afternoon.

But there must have been drought in interesting subjects to talk about as the two of you walked in relative silence with the occasional questions thrown if one is confused.

Except you should have known that it was too good to last.

You just had about reaching the end of Sunghoon's essay when someone entered and settled to sit near your feet before nudging it with their hand.

Placing a final full stop in the paper, you looked up in surprise at Jay who waited patiently for you to acknowledge him.

When your brows rose slightly, your pen stopped in the top of your notebook, he grinned and straightened in his space.

"What are you doing here?", you asked quietly, not unaware of how Heeseung leave the pretense of focusing into this work.

Like Sunoo, he was prepared to listen shamelessly.

"I promise that I would visit you here, right?", Jay explained with an easy grin, seemingly unaffected by the eyes of yours that were rooted to him.

He simply ran a hand through his hair as if him sitting near your feet and wanting to talk to you with Heeseung as an audience is a normal thing.

"Jay!", he glanced over his shoulder at the shout of his name and your eyes followed his, rising above his shoulder to find Leo and Jungwon entering the room with a joyful smiles in their faces.

They looked at their friend with mild surprise, eyes flickering curiously in your direction. All you could do was give in an awkward smile in return which only Jungwon returned with an even more awkward smile.

"I'll meet you back in your dorm room", Jay promised before turning his back on them and facing you once again.

He didn't see the way Leo and Jungwon shared a look before shrugging and walking towards the door as they shut it behind them as Heeseung requested.

"So, Y/N-"

You cut him off, "I'm not going to fool around with you, I have no time"

He frowned, asking, "Why do you keep thinking that I'll just be a bother?"

"Jay-"

"And besides, if I wanted to bother you, I know you'll only slap me or worse kick me down there", he rolled his eyes playfully, leaning back in his seat, "No offence, Y/N, but I nearly think I met a boxer with what you did to me"

You nodded, admitting with a teasing smile, "That's why you should know your place around me, okay?"

"Well, at least I can brag to the others of how strong you are", Jay pointed out.

"I don't know", you denied with a shake of your head, eyes drifting towards Heeseung.

Your shameless roommate who was trying his best to pretend that he wasn't secretly planning the lists of questions he was going to use to interrogate you later.

"But you know what? There's something about this Leo", you said, not understanding why you were pulling this move on him as well.

Jay scoffed, knowing that you were teasing, "Oh please, if I tried to be my decent self, you'd be mine in a heartbeat"

The words were so shocking - probably true though, but shocking nonetheless, that you couldn't help but laugh and Heeseung tried not to react in how comfortable you were getting now with any of them.

"It's true. The only reason I'm not continuing our bet is because I like being able to talk to you like this", Jay insisted.

The smile in your lips shifted, growing gentler as you looked at the boy who tried to play off the truth behind his words.

"That's actually sweet, Jay", you can't stop being honest for a while.

He shrugged off the words, growing a little awkward under your eyes. You take notice of his increasing discomfort, so you cleared your throat and decided it was probably better to tease him again.

"You just like talking to me and here I was thinking I was not that special especially with what Giselle said to me", you began, though not letting him know that you were now a bit close to the girl.

Giselle is actually nice, if not somewhat over too friendly at times and you were planning to meet her for the promised pizza at Saturday before Junho.

Jay chuckled in disbelief, "What are the people was saying now about me?"

"I can't be sure", you said with an easy shrug, "All I know is that the boys here can get creative and I mostly believe what only comes from Sunoo"

"So you don't care that your good name is being tainted by a play boy next door?", Jay phrased the question as if it was offhand, but it was clearly anything but that.

Growing serious under his eyes, you spoke firmly, "I don't believe in the rumors too easily. Besides, it can also be sometimes exaggerated or fabricated"

Rumors, if you only can you be honest about it to him, it had been following you as well all your life in your neighborhood. It all had something to do with who your dad really is.

You never thought about it so much, thinking it was a part of your life you should just forget.

"I'm glad you were like that", Jay said, grinning wide enough for you to be surprise.

"And well, who am I to judge you, Jay? Friends were not supposed to judge each other"

"You've just admitted we're friends", he leaned across your sprawled body, grinning happily as he reached to take your hand, "I can take it another level by saying we're friends with benefits?"

You scoffed, kicking him slightly in the chest for the remark. Jay did nothing more than wince and the grin didn't leave his face either.

He seemed relieved by your words and you were glad for it. Who'd have thoughts that you liked to be friends with Park Jay of all people?

After seeing you and Heeseung were actually busy, Jay took his leave, saying Jungwon would be whining by now at the long wait for him, and it made you smile a bit at the thought.

Only for it to stop from hearing the comment of Heeseung.

"It's good to see you're getting along with all of them now", he stated, not looking up from his paper.

"Is that a bad thing?", you asked, eyes on him who looked back at you in return.

"Not really because of this one thing that may happen and it'll be beneficial for you", Heeseung said seriously, but happy to see you listening nonetheless.

Because you knew everybody tells you that he's one to go for advises for, you asked, "What is it?"

"It'll be easier for them to make way for the lucky guy you will choose in the end"

When he said it like that, it was just a simple logic. Now that you think of it, Jay, Sunghoon and Jake had been friends longer than you think they are. With them being all born in the same year, it made them all the more closer.

They can't possibly be dumping all the years of knowing each other just because of a girl they've only known for months.

With that being said, a third plan is forming in your mind. It doesn't have something to do with hearts, but the main point is saving a long time friendship.

"Heeseung?", you called out to your roommate who was focus again in this work.

"Yes?", he just answered without looking up.

"Can you tell me more about how this boys met each other?", you asked and he did not hesitate to answer, knowing you have a plan in mind.

To make the long story short, the two of you have forgotten the work at hand in exchange to talking about the three friends with the addition of Kai in their circle.

In the way you get it, Sunghoon and Jay met each other first in this school before Jake entered the story. Sunghoon and Jake might be the instant bestfriends, but the ice skater secretly cares about the playboy.

They were practically brothers in your eyes.

And the night ends with you going down to bed, your mind full of them in particular and is questioning why.

Why can they all like you at the same time? There have to be a reason.

I'm portraying them in the best I can through what we see in their contents.
