Juniper was in her room skipping dinner when she was pulled from it, saying there was a need for her in the Command room. She rolled out of bed and followed a guard, going her usual way up the elevator and into the room. She didn't even have time to put on any shoes. Juniper hoped the floors were clean.

She walked into the room and saw Katniss already standing there, her hand covering her mouth. Juniper ran up to her quickly. Katniss saw it was Juniper and held onto her arm tightly.

Juniper had assumed that they were going to be watching the propos they had filmed in District 12. She knew Beetee had already showed them to the districts, but she had yet to see them. Instead, Peeta was on the broadcast.

"There was a savage attack on the hydroelectric dam in District 5." Peeta voiced. His eyes looked glassy and red. He looked much skinnier than he did just a few days ago. His skin looked very pale, but the makeup covered some purple marks Juniper saw.

"I'm begging for restraint and decency."

"What did they do to him?" Katniss whispered, her voice was shaking, her hands were shaking. Juniper held onto her as if she was going to collapse any second.

"That's our footage!" Coin said, pointing to the broadcast. Peeta seemed to look off into another direction for a moment, he blinked a few times. He was probably thinking it was his imagination. Katniss appeared on the screen. The audio of her singing filled the room. The image of her on the pile of what was left of Twelve appeared.

"Katniss?" Peeta's voice broke, it seemed so much softer than it did before when he was speaking.

"He sees our propo." Coin said.

"Katniss are you there?" Peeta asked. Katniss nodded her head a few times, though she knew Peeta couldn't see her. But she was there.

"Peeta." Caesar's voice cut in. Katniss and Juniper walked forward a bit, closer to the screen. "Please continue, you were telling us about these savage attacks."

Peeta nodded once, but he had to take a moment to himself. His eyes were full of tears. He took a deep breath, his chest was puffed out and he looked back at the camera.

"The attack on the dam was a callous and inhuman act of destructio-" Peeta's voice cut in and out as another image of Katniss walking through District 12 appeared. Her voice once again filled the room, this time Peeta leaned forward towards the camera.

"Think about it. How will this end? What will be left? No one can survive this, nobody is safe now. Not in the Capitol, not in the Districts." Peeta seemed freaked out about something, Katniss backed up slightly. He hesitated.

"They're coming Katniss. They're gonna kill everyone, and everyone in District Thirteen will be dead by morning!" A bunch of people appeared behind Peeta and grabbed him and the broadcast shut off.

"A warning." Haymitch said. "That was a warning." Juniper looked over and rolled her eyes at Haymitch, giving him a 'no duh' look.

"How can we even trust him?" Gale said. The room was in panic, he had to yell.

"How would he have that information?" Coin turned in her chair, facing the rest of the room. Juniper laughed.

"He's in the mansion, he must've overheard something." Juniper said, standing up and going over to where Plutarch and Beetee sat. "Why would he be lying?"

"We are going to be attacked, they know we are here. They're beating him as we speak!" Haymitch yelled, pointing to where the broadcast was. Katniss stood still, frozen. "Katniss, help us out here!"

"Haymitch and Juniper are right." Katniss nodded, her voice cracky. "Peeta believes it is true, he couldn't have been lying."

"Get your people ready." Juniper said to Coin, who hesitantly nodded. She turned back to her control panel ad hit a few buttons.

"We've prepared for this. We're overdue for a Level Five security drill, anyway." Coin continues typing on the panel and she stands up, the alarm starts blaring throughout the room. Juniper remembered she wasn't wearing any shoes, as soon as the alarm started, the amount of vibrations she felt through the ground was crazy. It was people running.

Juniper didn't have time to follow Katniss when she ran out of the room and into the hallway.

Cashmere was with Abraham and Nila- Juniper was sure about that. But where was Finnick?

Juniper followed the crowd and made her way down flights of stairs.

Blast doors will be sealed in six minutes. A robotic voice blared over the sirens. This is a code red alert.

Juniper continued down the steps, hoping and praying that her friends were alright and already down there waiting for her to walk through the doors. Her ears had started popping, they were deep underground already. She looked over the railing and noticed she had a lot more to go.

Suddenly, the lights flickered and a huge explosion went off. The sprinklers above had turned on and started raining down on everybody. People were screaming, but they kept moving downward.

They made it to the doors.

Juniper ran through and found Katniss waiting there. The two girls hugged one another shortly and waited.

"Cashmere came through with Abraham, Nila, and Mags already." Katniss said. Juniper nodded.

"What about Finnick?" Juniper asked. Katniss looked at Juniper, not answering. "Katniss, where's Finnick!"

Katniss shook her head, she had no idea where Finnick was. They watched as a giant crowd of people kept making their way through the doors.

The blast doors will close in one minute.

"Prim must've went back for the cat." When Katniss saw clearly, she ran through the doors. Juniper followed her, making their way past all of the guards and back into the staircase.

"Prim!" Katniss yelled. The alarm was too loud to hear much, though. She tried yelling again, but heard nothing back. Katniss continued making her way up the stairs while Juniper stayed at the bottom, watching the doors.

Prim and Finnick were no where to be found.

The blast doors will close in 30 seconds.

What if he didn't make it? Juniper didn't know how many waves of bombing were going to come and how Thirteen would be able to handle it. What if he got lost?

What if she had lost him?

Juniper's mind started racing. She looked at the doors and where Katniss was on the steps, both of them were being rained on. She felt her eyes stinging, Juniper was unsure if it was from oncoming tears or the sprinklers drenching water on her face.

Three figures appeared, none of them were Katniss. They were running down the stairs with something in their head. Their hair was drenched. It was Finnick, Prim, and Gale. Finnick.

"Finnick!" Juniper yelled, walking towards the end of the stairs. He made it to the bottom and Juniper hugged him tightly. He was taken a bit off guard, but before he could do anything else, she grabbed his arm and dragged him to the blast doors, which were already shutting.

Five.

Four.

Three.

Katniss, Gale, and Prim were right behind them. They were all screaming to hold the doors. Finnick and Juniper had already made it through.

Two. One.

The three of them had just barely made it through. They were out of breath from the amount of running. Prim held a cat in her arms.

Blast doors are now sealed.

"You went back for the cat!" Katniss yelled, putting her hands on her sisters shoulders. "Are you crazy?"

"I wasn't gonna leave him behind!" Prim answered. Katniss had no response and just hugged her sister.

Finnick and Juniper watched the scene. Juniper looked at Finnick, who's chest was rising and falling very quickly, but it was slowing down. She looked at the thing in his hand.

"You brought my guitar?" Juniper asked. He seemed to be caught out of whatever daze he was in and nodded, handing the case to her.

"I went in your room... and I couldn't find you anywhere. I was hoping you were already down here." Juniper looked up at Finnick who wiped all of the water of his face, but the water from his hair dripped back onto his forehead. "...I know your music calms you, and I thought you might want it."

Juniper wrapped her arms around Finnick's torso, dropping the guitar case. She held onto him tightly. If he didn't make it, she wouldn't be able to live with herself. Juniper felt the vibrations of the bombs through the ground, but it didn't bother her. He was with her, and that was all she needed right now.

Finnick laid his chin on top of her head and held her closely. The two took in one another's presence, but they realized what they were doing and backed away from each other. Juniper cleared her throat and picked up her guitar.

Another bomb hit, the entire area around them shook and the lights flickered.

"We should get to our rooms." Juniper said. Finnick nodded awkwardly.

The bombing continued all night long. Juniper found a bed all the way in the corner of their own sector and kept to herself. She hugged her knees to her chest and rocked herself lightly back and forth.

Cashmere walked over to the girl and sat down with her on the bed.

"Are you doing okay?" Cashmere asked softly. When Juniper went to answer, another round of bombing hit, making them all flinch. Juniper nodded.

"Could be better, but at least we are all safe." Cashmere nodded, looking at the guitar case that peaked out from underneath the bunk bed.

"Bring your guitar to sooth everyone?" Cashmere asked, nodding to the instrument. Juniper looked at it.

"Finnick brought it for me." Juniper admitted. Cashmere smirked, earning a disapproving look from Juniper. "He said he knows it calms me."

"You two need to make up." Cashmere laid back on the bed slightly, holding herself up with her elbows.

"Is this really the time? We're being bombed." Juniper rolled her eyes. "We can't stand each other most of the time."

"Just saying, you two are miserable with out each other. Maybe you just can't stand each other because you don't want to admit something else?" Cashmere questioned. Juniper looked at her and narrowed her eyes. Cashmere shrugged, getting off the bed and climbing onto the top bunk.

Cashmere reminded Juniper of Nina sometimes, especially when she brought up Finnick.

Juniper couldn't deny it, though. She'd always repeat in her mind over and over, kill him before he makes you love him. But she was already too far gone. Juniper had lost that chance a while ago. Now, she was just delaying the inevitable.

Juniper buried her head in her knees. Nobody could ever love her after everything she's done, no matter how many times she tries to make up for it or prove people otherwise. She'll always be looked at for her flaws, it was a joke to think otherwise.
