There are devilish thoughts even in the most angelic minds...
Freyja invited the kids for lunch before the ball. They would get ready there and then attend all together. It was Tom's first dance so he was extremely nervous.
Almost none of them had visited the manor before. The previous years, they were considered too young to go to balls. The chรขteau was huge. It was an all-black, two floored manor with a lot windows. Abraxas knocked on the double door and after a while, a short, grumpy house elf answered. The kids moved forwards.
The inside of the castle was even more glamourous. All black walls and furniture with golden details. A lot mirrors and paintings were decorating each wall. The place was very familiar to Tom, even thought it was the first time he went there. The living room was huge with four black, leather sofas, a fireplace and a massive painting hanging above it. It was Freyja and her mother. Freyja was sitting on an armchair, while her mom was standing next to her, both wearing formal clothes. Seeing these two together you could easily see the similarities between them. Like mother, like daughter, they say.
Tom moved to the kitchen. As he was observing the room, he realized where he had seen it before. From Freyja's flashback, the night he killed her. He didn't think they would keep the house.
The kids heard footsteps coming from the big, golden staircase. Freyja walked to her friends and greeted them. "Let's go. Lunch is served."
They got in the dinning room. A big, brown, wooded table with fourteen sits in each side was in the middle of the room and Lilith was sitting in one end. Soon enough, their plates were empty and dessert time approached. Lilith took a sip from her wine. "I assume you all know how to dance" She said when she placed her glass in the table.
The kids nodded quietly, some of them even murmured a silent 'yes'. Abraxas spent his week teaching Tom how to dance. Tom didn't want to make a fool of himself to the high society. He also needed to impress Lilith and even Freyja.

Tom knocked on Freyja's door. He wanted to give her a Christmas present. 'Come in' Tom opened the door. Her bedroom was even bigger than the Slytherin common room. All black and golden, of course. Big bookcases and a lot of books, a wooden desk and a black king size bed, some armchairs, a gold rug, a fireplace, three mirrors and the same painting as in the living room.
Freyja got out from one of the other doors, probably the bathroom. A white towel was all that was covering her body. "Oh, it's you. I was expecting my mother."
"I apologize if this is an inappropriate time. I can come later."
"It's okay, just wait for me to get dressed."
After a while, Freyja got out of the bathroom, wearing her sleepwear. She sat on the bed besides Tom. He took a small box out of his pocket and passed it to her. She opened it and came across a necklace. "What is that?"
"That, my dear, is my Christmas present to you. This is Salazar Slytherin's locket."
"I thought this was one of your horcruxes."
"It is. And I want you to have it."
"Wow, Tom. I don't know what to say!"
"A thank you would be nice"
"Thank you so much!" Tom took the locket from her hands and pulled it over her neck. "It looks so good on you"
"I also got you a gift." Freyja got up and moved to her bedside table. She took the black back sitting on top of it and gave it to Tom. He opened it quickly and picked the object from the bag. He smiled at the sight of a brand-new watch. The only one he owned was broken and worn out but he couldn't afford to get a new one. The watch seemed really expensive. Black with dark red and golden details. Black with gold was officially the colour of the O'Lone family.
"Thank you so much!" It was the first genuine gift he ever received. Of course, his followers made him a lot gifts but they didn't truly wanted to. "I have to go get dressed up. See you at the ball, Freyja"
"See you"

The clock ticked seven o'clock, meaning it was time for the ball. Ms. O'lone had already finished decorating the dance room. The big, white, marble room was filled with minimalistic, white, Christmas decoration. White garlands were hanging from the chandeliers. Exactly at the middle of the room, there was a marble fountain. The musicians were standing in the at the back, left corner. White roses were standing by every exit. A massive, very well decorated Christmas tree was placed in the front right corner and colourful, fake presents were placed underneath.
Despite of being a huge dark arts lover, Lilith's favourite colour was white. She believed white was such a pure and innocent colour. Unlike her dark, dirty soul.
The guests have arrived, and the feast was about to begin. The kids were waiting, in the hallway, just before the big entrance, for Freyja, who was -as always- late. Everyone was wearing their most elegant piece of clothing. The O'Lone annual ball was, indeed, a big deal.
The boys were all wearing the traditional dance robes. All except Tom. He didn't know what to wear at events like that so he bought a suit. An all-black one. Black really was his colour. And black suits made him feel powerful. He was also wearing Freyja's gift, that suited him perfectly. Not by appearance. By character. It was a watch someone like him deserved. Expensive and classy.
Bella was wearing a black dress, still grieving for her sister's death. The dress was tight around the waist but loose in the legs. She was wearing a black lipstick and dark eyeshadow, with the combination of mascara. Her hair was tied in a beautiful braid, falling in one of her shoulders.
The sound of heels clicking on the floor filled the place. Freyja was walking down the stairs. She was stunning. Tom's eyes were stuck at her, examining every little detail. He knew she was beautiful before, but tonight she was alluring, magnificent, delightful.
Freyja was wearing a long, black, off-shoulder dress with golden details. Her black hair was tied in a loose bun, with curls falling in front of her face. A golden headband was decorating her head, matching her dress. Her neck was decorated by Tom's gift. Her eyes were simply coloured, just mascara and silver eyeshadow. Crimson red paint on her lips and a little blush on her cheeks. She was also wearing black high heels, with fake, golden snakes, making her seem taller.
She approached her friends. "Let's go, shall we?"
Bella held Abraxas' hand, while each boy had their own partner. Except Tom and Freyja. "How come a lady like you, don't have a partner?"
"Well, a lady like me needs someone special to accompanying her."
"Would she mind if that someone special was me?"
"Not at all!" Tom holds her hand with his right arm and her waist with the other. Freyja placed her palm on his shoulder, and just like that they started dancing to the music.
Everything was perfect. The music, the place, the clothes. But Freyja suddenly let go of Tom's hands, looked him in the eye and run away. Tom followed her upstairs, to her bedroom. Everything happened so quickly. At one moment, they were dancing harmonically and the other, they were in Freyja's bedroom.
"Freyja, what the hell happened?" Freyja opened the French door and got out to her balcony. She put her hands on the stony railings. She took some big breaths. "Freyja! Answer me! Did I do anything wrong?"
"No, you didn't"
"You have been avoiding me for a month, suddenly we dance together and now you just dumped me in the middle of the dance floor?!"
"I'm sorry, it's just..."
"Just what?"
Freyja turned around and looked at him. "My amortentia was you. I smelled your perfume! And I don't know how to handle it."
Tom moved closer. "Do you want to know what I smelled?"
"You told me you smelled nothing"
"Bullshit. I smelled caramel, rose, perfume Chanel No5. Do you know to who that smell belongs to?" Freyja crossed her arms. "You. And I don't know how to handle it, either. Because you make me feel...Well, you make me feel." He took a step closer with every sentence he said. "I don't know if it is good or bad." Their bodies touched. He put his palm on her cheek and caressed her lips with his thumb. "But I know it is right."
Their lips touched. A kiss passionate but sweet. His lips were surprisingly soft and warm. She didn't felt butterflies in her stomach. She felt her heart fulfill again. She placed her hand on his cheekbone. For the first time in his life, he was overwhelmed with joy. His eyes were half-open in desire, while hers were fully closed in pleasure.
Unfortunately, they had to stop their kiss, due to the need of fresh air. They held each other in a close embrace. "It felt right" Freyja whispered in his ear.
Thefuture king and queen of the wizarding world were kissing under the stars. Theydidn't even knew each other a year ago. If anyone told Tom that he would meether, he wouldn't believe them. The only person that isn't afraid of him. The onlyperson he can be himself with. The only person that isn't with him just becauseof lust or fear. When he was looking in her eyes, he knew that she wouldn't betrayhim and that together they can rule the world. But who knows what will happenin the future? She might die. He might die.
