Angelica's POV
"What are you doing," Jonathan asked again.
"Oh, right. I was looking for a scab if there's any. But, I found it," I lied. I don't want to get myself in trouble if he is an alien and maybe that's why he can punch the wall without breaking his knuckles and maybe he's the one who stopped the car a few weeks ago.
My mouth starts to hang ajar as I think deeper about it and he snaps his finger at me, making me go back to reality.
"Yes, yes, I am fine. Doing fine," I picked the plates and bowls before leaving the room with my expression still, wide eyes and blinking rapidly. I snapped back to reality and put the dishes in their fancy sink.
"You look quite surprised, Ms. Park." Jonathan's mother said in a serious tone, a man beside her shows up and kisses her cheek before he says goodbye and I just bowed at him again. When he left, we both sighed in relief and she chuckled.
"I apologize if I ever got so surprised, Vice Chairman Young," I said and opened the tap.
"It's okay, but, why aren't you leaving yet?" she asks, this time, she's deadpan serious.
"He told me to stay..." I trailed off.
"Is that so? Then go sleep with him," she smiled and walked out. What's wrong with these people? Do they even know that they had an alien son? Or what if...? I gasped at my sudden thought, it caught some maid's attention and I faked my sneezing so that I won't be checked out.
"Goodnight," someone tapped my shoulder. It was Nicholas who winked at me before fetching some water and leaving. I continued washing the dishes and tried not to get bothered by it. When I'm done washing it, I slowly and carefully went back to his room. Only to notice that he was not here, I looked around, and no sign of his shadow.
"I wonder where he is..." I found a couch, and I searched for his closet where, I guess, hides his extra pillow and blankets. As soon as I found it, the door swung open and Nathan barged in.
"Hello," he says, I hurriedly picked him up to hug him. He hugged me back and purred, "I missed you." I whispered in his ear and kissed his cheeks, he smiled.
"I guess, I am too," Nathan said, whose tail was wagging in excitement.
"Have you eaten anything lately?" I asked him, he shook his head and smiled, "Then I guess, I'll cook you some." He pants happily at my ear and never lets go of hugging me.
"Sorry if I never showed up..." he whined.
"It's okay, you're here now." I opened the door to see a maid holding a rolling pin in fear and her voice became curious when she saw me carrying him around.
"Ma'am, what are you doing with him?"
"I'll just bring him along, don't worry. He won't bite if I don't tell him to." he barks happily and the maid sets herself aside as I go again to the kitchen, I put him down on the ground and he wags his tail endlessly.
"What are you cooking?" he asks and follows me around as I gather ingredients in the kitchen.
"Something meaningful, so, sit back and relax." I pinched Nathan's cheeks and proceeded to cook, after a while, I finished it and he sniffs it hungrily. A beefsteak, it's not that special, but I make it for the people who are important to me. I sound childish...
"You cook so deliciously," he complimented me.
"So, where were you when I was away for a week? I don't even see you here," I said and he didn't answer me, instead, he ate it happily and I just gently brushed his fur. It took him minutes to gulp it down before drinking a lot of water.
"What's this meaningful food you said earlier, huh?" Nathan asked, avoiding questions of mine. I didn't reply, I just picked David's bowl and washed it off. He waited for my answer but I didn't talk even after I finished washing it. I picked him up and went back to his owner's room, he was still not there. Strange, I plopped down on his bed since he might be out doing some business matters. He looked at me seriously right now, "Fine, I'll answer your question and you'll answer mine."
"Deal."
"I was outside, I was told to start a family. But I don't want to," he says and plops his head down on the bed, I cooed to Nathan.
"It's okay, the right time will come, so don't worry." I kissed his forehead and I turned myself away when I replied to his question, "When I started to cook, back when I was ten, my mom taught me that. And whenever I make it, it means they're important to me. Pretty childish, don't you think?" he shakes his head and he turns to look at me to reply.
"Back when I was a pup, I used to bring bones to my mom and she was happy whenever I did that. But..." he trails off.
"I know that feeling, but you can bring me a bone too." I smiled, "But not human bones, that might scare me off," I laughed and Nathan just snorted.
"You're always so sweet to me, what if I became a bad wolf?" he suddenly asked, my laugh was quickly cut off and I turned to face him seriously.
"You never will, I know that. You have a heart for you to not be a bad wolf, so..." I suddenly yawned and he did too, "I guess we're both sleepyheads." I hugged him and nuzzled under his chest.
"Goodnight," Nathan says and licks my cheek, I chuckled at it.
"Goodnight too," I said and kissed his chin, "You do smell like my boss, no wonder..."
"Just sleep now, we're gonna go take a walk tomorrow morning," he says sleepily and we both fall asleep, my eyes were a little bit open, and I saw a figure of a woman when she opened them. She approached us quietly and she puts the blanket on us
"I guess he likes you, and so do you.." my eyes shut, and I slept soundly.
