-HER-

KAWAKI WOKE UP WITH A POUNDING HEADACHE. He wasn't sure what caused it entirely, but he sure as hell knew that it was a pain in the ass.

The boy couldn't remember the last time he felt this crappy when waking up. Everything was sore, and his body seemed to lean in an odd way. Perhaps after a rough training session he'd feel equally as light-headed, but not quite so. The aching pain he'd usually feel in his bones was replaced to be in his head- making everything feel distorted.

'Ugh...where am I...' He groaned. His surrounding were different from his usual ones. Instead of his room or a medical ward, he was trapped in a tight container. The walls were padded with white leather, and to his right small ventilators provided air for him to breathe. If he spread his arms out, he would only be able to reach until his elbows; it was cramped.

With tired eyes, Kawaki pried himself from the cold metal ground; If he was going to find answers then it surely wasn't here in this...metal box thing. As well as feeling this way, Kawaki couldn't remember getting inside the container in the first place. It was normal at this point to be fair, he was used to being moved around the second he fell asleep or took his medical pills- damn thing was always tampered with. But usually that would leave him bed ridden in yet another hospital ward; The usual checkups and stuff taking place there, not this.

Eventually Kawakis pupils adjusted to the dark, allowing for him to see the slither of light that poured from an open gap in the box. It was open? What was the purpose of this?

Kawaki chalked it up to that 'top secret trip' he caught Jigen talking about a couple weeks back. But this...this didn't seem so top secret to him. Something smelt like it was burning, and the container looked damaged beyond repair. This was incredibly unprofessional, and the Kara didn't do unprofessional.

Suddenly, Kawaki was met with yet another surprise upon his awakening. Below his abdomen, he felt something heavy pressing against him. And as his gaze locked onto the mysterious weight, that was when Kawaki realised that the 'weight' was infact an unconscious girl.

There was a girl on his lap.

...Why is there a girl on his lap?

"What the..." Kawaki shifted uncomfortably. There was a girl on his lap- a girl he had never seen before. Her messy (H/C) hair was sprawled all over his waist, and her hands tugged loosely at the brim of his top. He couldn't see her face becuase it was buried into him, something he couldn't help but notice as small, tamed breaths gently brushed against his exposed stomach, making the hairs at the end of his arms rise. She was alive.

Kawakis upbringing never taught him how to deal with this kind of situation. I mean, he's never had anyone so bashfully touch him before; the only contact he's received being the swift strikes of Jigen or the painful blows of his opponents. Contact to him was associated with negative connotations, so he did what his natural instinct told him to. He shoved them off him.

By the small bang the girl made as she hit the wall, and the lack of a response after, Kawaki could tell that mystery girl was unconscious. Long strands of her dirty (H/C) hair sprawled along her face, as her body slowly slumped to the side. From there Kawaki could make out a white logo that was embedded into the breast-pocket of her gown. It was the shape of a black diamond.

She had to be part of the Kara in order to even come in contact with him, so it didn't come to Kawakis surprise when comparing the karma mark on his palm to the logo on her gown- they were identical.

'So she is part of Kara...but that doesn't explain who she is and why the hell she's in here with me.' By how cramped the container was, it was obviously not designed for two people. If Jigen truly wanted this girl to accompany him, then another box would be issued- so why is she here?

Kawakis mind started swirling with thoughts. Could she be an escapee? Is that why everything has gone to hell? Has the transportation mission failed?

'If she was one...then she must have the right connections to get this far.' A spark of hope hummed in Kawakis chest. If she was the reason why the mission stopped, then he could use this chance to escape!

But before Kawaki got to his feet, he wanted to see something. Every Kara member had a form of identification- the Roman numerals if you were one of the main Kara inners, or a wrist band stating your name and purpose if you played minor role as a member. And something told Kawaki that this girl was different. Not only had he never seen her before, but she had something off about her that Kawaki couldn't place his finger on.

Kawaki grabbed the girls left arm and pulled it closer towards him. Ignoring the fact that her skin was surprisingly smooth, her wrist band was there. It was a plain white sheet of plastic that on it, were scribbled her initials. Kawakis eyes widened as he learnt the girls name- his heart beating faster. His grey smouldering eyes fell onto her, bewildered.

'This is...(Y/N)?'

The boy fell silent. Lost in thought, he once again didn't know what to do. She was (Y/N), the girl he had always wondered about as a kid- the girl Jigen said was just as empty and hollow like him. She was here, right in front of his very eyes. And Kawakis body stiffened.

'I promise that one day, I'll escape this hell hole but not before I destroy it!'

He remembered saying that as a child. He promised that he'd destroy the organisation out of spite; and he was keen on keeping that promise. So instead of ogling at the girl he had always wanted to meet, he kicked the lid of the container down and climbed outside. It took a lot in him to break free, but he eventually did. And once he did, he soaked in his new surroundings.

Heavy smoke hung in the air. It burned the boys lungs as he coughed in retaliation. From what he could see, he was in an airship of sorts- one that had crashed and set ablaze. Rows of Android-like machines flocked the area serving as his make-shift guards. And to his concern, a few of them began to hum to life once locking gaze with him. He wasn't supposed to be awake, was he?

Just before the machines could truly reboot, Kawaki quickly went back to the box. With the lid now gone, he gazed at the sleeping girl below.

She looked peaceful asleep. Her nose was slightly scrunched out of what looked to be pain, and small patterned breaths left her slowly. Kawaki grimaced.

'I promised to rid of this organisation, and the best way to do that is to take away one of their most valued medics' He reached down and scooped the girl up by the arms and legs. She was notably smaller than him, and all the lighter. He probably felt this way because of the muscle he gained from Jigens trainingβ€” or because of the fact that she was visibly malnourished. Either way, he threw her over his shouler.

He was going to take her with him. He didn't know exactly where he was going, but once he found a decent place to hide in, he was going to get all the information he needed out of her. From then on, Kawaki imagined himself training for a good few yearsβ€” he needed to truly master Karma if he could go up against someone like Jigen. And as for (Y/N)...

He spared a glance at her, she was completely limp in his arms.

Well, he wasn't too sure. Maybe if she was complaint and not a total pain in the ass he'd consider having her stick around. She was good with healing right? That might be useful.

Suddenly, the sound of a chakra blast snapped Kawaki out of his thoughts. A large hole was carved into the wall nexto him, and he turned to find the source of it. Behind him was the row of Androids- they were now fully awake, and with one of them having their metal arms pointed directly at him. Kawaki sighed at this and watched as his free hand morphed into a barrier. It looked to be made of molten earth, an ability the Karma granted him.

He was ready to fight.
