"Hey A-Bao, don't terrorize Wen Ning! And A-Mei, put down Māma's flute!"

2 full months had passed for Wei WuHui and the Wen remnants. 2 months where they eventually got used to their new additions to the family. The little twins, Lan Bao and Lan Mei.

And quite frankly, it was...difficult for the new mother to get used, especially when her twins are...exact carbon copies of her mischievous twin, Wei WuXian.

Wei WuHui sighed tiredly, rubbing her temples as she listened to the laughters of mischief from her little boy's and her self-proclaimed disciple, Xue Yang, as they both fooled around Poor Wen Ning. While her daughter sat idly nearby with the infamous Chénqíng in her drooling mouth.

"Although they have their father's features, they definitely have Wei blood in them." Wen Qing commented in amusement as she came over with Wen Yuan in her arms.

"Ugh!" Wei WuHui groaned, facepalming.

"Also, isn't it time for you and A-Ning to leave for the celebration? Wei WuXian should be coming soon." Wen Qing inquired.

Wei WuHui perked up. "You're right! Boys, time's up! Leave Wen Ning alone." She called out, strolling over to the children as she plucked Lan Bao and dragged Xue Yang off of Wen Ning. "Honestly, it's like I'm surrounded by gremlins."

"Māma! Māma!" Lan Mei called out as she waddled over to her mother, ending up holding onto her robe as she held up the saliva-covered Chénqíng. "Here!"

Wei WuHui gasped in exaggeration. "Oh good job, A-Mei! So nice of you to give this back to Māma, what a good girl." The maiden knelt down to her daughter's level as she smiled warmly, giving her a gentle pat on the head before grabbing the flute.

Last month, Jiang YanLi also gave birth to her and Jin ZiXuan's son, Jin Ling, which prompted the one-month celebration for the boy at Golden Carp Tower.

"Now, be good for Wen Qing, ok?" Wei WuHui stated as she gave kisses to her children' and Wen Yuan's foreheads. "And don't mess around too much, brat." Then ruffling Xue Yang's hair, which earned her a scowl from the latter.

"Yeah, whatever Old Hag."

"What a powerful silver bell." Wen Ning spoke in awe as he looked at the small bell in Wei WuHui's hand, the bell having an identical appearance to the Jiang Sect's Clarity Bell.

Wei WuHui giggled. "You bet! You can tell who made it. Not even you are immune to it, so make sure not to touch it," she then placed it back inside her inner robes. "I gave them to Xiao-Yang, A-Yuan, A-Bao and A-Mei as well, for their protections."

"I didn't expect that Jin-Gongzi would invite you over for his son's full month banquet," Wen Ning stated worriedly. "Please refrain from getting into an argument with him."

"Heh, don't you worry about it. Since he invited me, I won't speak ill of him for the next year." Wei WuHui chuckled, winking over to her friend but then she suddenly paused in her track when an uneasy presence hits her.

"What's wrong, Wei Gu-Niang?" Wen Ning asked.

"Something's odd about this place." Wei WuHui frowned.

With that said, Wen Ning's eyes turned into white as he looked around. Noticing how even the birds are not singing their melodies. "It's too quiet."

Wei WuHui narrowed her eyes cautiously. "Let's go." She said, turning around as she resumed walking toward the banquet when out of nowhere, an arrow soar through the sky and headed toward her head. Thankfully, Wen Ning caught it before it can hit its mark.

Suddenly, a large number of cultivators in all yellow of the Lanling Jin Sect and even some in the white of the Gusu Lan Sect shot up from their hiding spots on the mountains. They all holding bows and arrows, and all aiming directly at the pair below them.

The maiden narrowed her eyes at the Lan cultivators, pretending to not feel the slight break in her heart.

"Wei WuHui!" A blade pointed at the maiden's back as she glanced at the wielder with a cold expression.

"Who are you?" The latter questioned.

This caused the blade wielder's, who turned out to be Jin ZiXun, face to reddened in rage. "You dare to ask who I am? I am Jin ZiXun!"

Realisation finally came to Wei WuHui as she slowly remembered the cousin of Jin ZiXuan, who she thinks she encountered him before. She then felt her heart sinking further as the joy and happiness that she had felt for her invitation to her marital nephew's celebration, dissipating. However, she still felt hopeful as she refused to think about it too much, not willing to take a guess at why these people decided to made an ambush here.

"I'm warning you, lift your heinous curse at once!" Jin ZiXun demanded.

Wei WuHui rose a brow. "Oh? What heinous curse are you speaking of?"

Jin ZiXun sneered as he pulled down his collar, revealing the disgusting sight of countless holes on his chest. All of them having different sizes from one another.

The small holes being at a size of sesame seeds while the larger ones are as large as soybeans and they are all spread out on his body evenly.

Wei WuHui's eyes widened slightly. "Hundred Holes?"

"That's right! Hundred Holes indeed!"

The Hundred Holes was a curse of utmost brutality.

Effects of the curse consisted of the victim feeling nothing at first with them thinking that their pores had became rougher. However, as time goes bye, the holes would continue to grow. It will proceed until the victim's entire body are covered in holes of all sizes, almost like a grotesque human sieve.

On top of that, after the surface of the skin being covered in holes, the curse would then begin to extend toward their internal organs which could either be ceaseless stomachache, or the rotting of all the organs.

Seeing Jin ZiXun, a prominent master, being a victim of the curse just made Wei WuHui feel only pity toward the man. "And you think I did it?" She asked.

"Only a heretic like you would resort to such an unscrupulous trick!" Jin ZiXun.

That only prompt the maiden to laugh lightly. "If I really wanted to kill you, your death would be a lot worse than the Hundred Holes."

"You—! Fine, if you don't dare to admit what you did, then I won't hold back either! Shoot them!" Jin ZiXun commanded and with that, a large wave of arrows were fired at Wei WuHui and Wen Ning.

Wei WuHui huffed before waving her hand that held Chenqing, sending a wave of resentful energy that knocked the arrows away. She then spotted a couple of Jin cultivators rushing toward her on their swords.

Wei WuHui smirked, bringing her flute to her lip as she began to play.

Seeing that, Jin ZiXun had the guts to smirk arrogantly. "Don't waste your energy. We've cleared the entire Qiongqi Road. There's not a single corpse left! Today, this place shall become your burial ground!

Wei WuHui just continued playing as she played a shrill note that ripped throughout the valley, which caused Wen Ning to go into attacking mode as with a mighty leap, he took down all the flying cultivators in one go.

Motionless bodies dropped like flies as Wen Ning effortlessly landed back down.

Jin ZiXun and the rest of his followers stared in fear.

But, with a final note played, Wei WuHui paused and pulled her flute away with a cold smile on her face. "Today is Jin Ling's one-month birthday so I'm in a good mood today and don't want to hurt anyone." She then glared toward Jin ZiXun. "But then again, my patience is limited, so if you refuse to back off—."

The woman then gasped and stopped her sentence as she looked behind her, seeing a sudden rise in the resentful energy.

Jin ZiXun then chuckled smugly. "Did you really believe that you could attend A-Ling's full-month banquet?"

Wei WuHui scowled. "What do you mean?"

"Did you think our Lanling Jin Sect would simply forget about what you and that Wen Dog did here a year ago?" Jin ZiXun continued, not noticing the alarming increase in resentful energy that are now swirling at Wei WuHui's feet. "Wei WuHui! Nowadays, anyone who associates with you would be dragged through the mud. Did you really think Jin ZiXuan's invitation was sincere?"

The resentful energy then crawled through Wei WuHui's robes and circulated around the Stygian Tiger Amulet as she gasped in slight discomfort.

Wei WuHui grunted, holding her head as dark voices erupted in her head and veins appearing on her face as her eyes snap opened, revealing them to be blazing crimson.

"As for your good Shijie, she should feel beyond honoured to be allowed into our Lanling Jin Sect, yet she's still consorting with you! Same goes for your Gēge who arrogantly demanded for your appearance in the banquet!" Jin ZiXun stated haughtily before his confidence quickly dissolved when seeing the big mass of darkness engulfing the maiden as his smug smile faded away.

Suddenly, Jin ZiXun was sent flying into the mountain's wall with no mercy from a single strike of the resentful energy as all the other cultivators stared at their fallen leader and turned to the maiden in horror.

Wei WuHui stood in the resentful cloud with her head in her hand as her crimson eyes glared angrily at them.

Jin ZiXun groaned as he pulled himself from the rubbles. "Go! Kill her now!"

Some of the cultivators were about to charge forward with their swords out but was intercepted by Wen Ning, who let out an animalistic growl before he charged in.

Meanwhile, the other cultivators that remained on the mountaintops, readied their bows and fired arrows at Wei WuHui.

Unfortunately, the cloud of resentful energy wiggled its tendrils wildly before sending a powerful burst of power that reflected the arrows back, some of the cultivators getting hit by their own arrows in the process.

'Stop it! Enough of this!' Wei WuHui tried to maintained her control over the resentful energy but with the ominous influence from the Amulet, her control began to wane.

More tendrils of dark energy than headed for Jin ZiXun who attempted to run away in fear. The tips of the tendrils about to pierced the man if it wasn't for a shiny glint cut through them effortlessly.

Standing between Jin ZiXun and the dark energy was Jin ZiXuan with his spiritual sword, Suihua, out.

"ZiXuan-Xiong, save me!" Jin ZiXun cried out.

"I'll settle this matter with you later." Jin ZiXuan chided at him before turning to the maiden ahead of him. "Wei WuHui! Please put down Chenqing down! Let's discuss this out!"

However, all he got in response was an empty chuckle.

"I thought you was smarter than that, Jin ZiXuan. Why don't you ask them to put their swords down first?" Wei WuHui remarked.

"Can't you calm down? Look at the state you're in!" Jin ZiXuan retorted.

"Calm down? Jin ZiXuan, do you really not know that they planned to kill me?" Wei WuHui snapped as she glared at Jin ZiXuan.

"Wei WuHui! Are you crazy?!" Jin ZiXuan shouted as he began walking toward her. Not noticing that Wen Ning turned to him.

"Jin ZiXuan, get out of my way! I don't want to hurt you, but don't provoke me!" Wei WuHui yelled.

However, the Jin Heir continued with determination. "Why can't you yield for once?" He asked as he reached his hand out when nearing to the maiden. "A-Li—!" But then...the sound of flesh interrupted his words.

Wei WuHui glanced over to him when she heard his words got cut off but the moment she did that, she felt her whole heart dropping and her body froze entirely as her vision went grey from there.

Why?

Splatters of blood stained the ground as Jin ZiXuan stopped moving, him looking down to found Wen Ning's hand through his chest.

Nobody realised that Wen Ning had even move toward the man as his expressionless face had drops of blood.

Why does this have to happen?

"No..." Wei WuHui gasped shakily as she backed away just as Wen Ning pulled his arm out of Jin ZiXuan's chest, causing the latter to fall onto his knees. She felt her breathing began to escalate and her emotions going haywire. "Jin ZiXuan..."

Jin ZiXuan gasped breathlessly as he managed to continue his sentence. "...is still waiting for you...to go to Koi Tower...and attend...A-Ling's full month celebration." And with his final breath gone, Jin ZiXuan's lifeless body fell over in a dull thud that rang through Wei WuHui's ears.

The woman can feel herself hyperventilating as she gasped for breath, tears falling from her eyes and covering her mouth in despair as whatever happened just now finally resonated to her mind.

"Ah...ah...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
