The residents could only wait for Hyunsoo to woke up. Jisu was sitting on the floor, embracing her legs, hiding her face in knees as she was shaking and sobbing. Eunyoo let go her brother's arm, and on wobbling legs, she walked to Soojin's body. She sat on her knees, taking her cold hand in hers. Her lips were trembling when she was taking off the gold bracelet on the girl's wrist. Eunyoo put Soojin's hand to her cheek, and sobbed, sniffing her nose. Eunhyuk walked to her, embracing her shoulder. The girl stood up and hid the bracelet in the pocket of her sweatshirt. They wanted to walk away, but then Hyunsoo moved. They turned to him, when the boy slowly straightened up.
Hyunsoo looked around confused, noticing Han Dusik sitting under the column with his head tilted on the side.
"Who is he?" murmured the boy. Residents looked at him surprised. Eunyoo's mouth opened a little. The tears strolled down Hyunsoo's cheek, "Why am I crying? My... my heart is breaking"
No one answered him, having no idea what to say. Jisu raised her head, and with Yikyung's help, she got up from the floor.
Hyunsoo twisted his head, seeing Soojin's body laying not far away from him. His face didn't change the dull expression. The boy slowly moved to her, as Eunhyuk and Eunyoo took a step back.
"Who is she?" Hyunsoo pulled his hand, brushing off the strains of short hair that sticked to the girl's wet face. He felt that her skin was cold, "She's pretty. What's her name?"
He raised his head to look at the Lee sibling who stood next to him. Eunyoo's lips trembed as she couldn't say anything.
"It's Soojin," said quietly Eunhyuk
"Soojin," repeated amazed Hyunsoo, looking back at the dead girl, "It's a pretty name"
Tears escaped his eyes as he blinked. He knew that the girl is someone important. He felt the need of protecting her. But he had no idea who she was.
The boy fixed the burned sweater on his shoulder, and got up from the floor. He walked pass the Lee sibling, leaving the residents in the lobby.

Hyunsoo sat on the bench on the corridor, and took out his phone. The first thing he saw, when he turned it on, was the picture of him and the girl on the wallpaper. It was the same girl that was laying in the lobby. He was looking at this picture, until he noticed an old notification at the bottom of the screen. He clicked on it, opening messages.
Soojin:
How are you?
It was almost two weeks ago, and the boy didn't answer to that. He swiped upwards, reading the earlier conversations from three weeks ago.
Soojin:
Hello neighbour! How this beautiful day going for you?
me:
It's okay
Soojin:
Are you maybe interested in my company today? I feel like hanging out with someone, but my friend is busy
me:
Okay
Soojin:
Great. I finish my shift at 6 pm. I can take with me some sweets, maybe you would like them. And also I could bring bibibamp, so you finally would eat some normal dish, and not those chemical food
me:
Okay
Soojin:
"Okay" ๐ Next time, think about something more to write, cause it feels like I'm talking to herself. But never mind. I'll see you after six. Bye!
me:
Hyunsoo scrolled through different conversations. There were many of them. Mostly it was the girl writing long paragraphs, and he was answering shortly. The first text was from 26th July, from her.
Hyunsoo scrolled back down, clicking on the keyboard. He wrote the answer for last massage.
me:
I'm okay. How are you?
Hyunsoo closed the messages, looking again at the picture of him and the girl. She was the one who held the phone in the air, smiling widely to the camera, and pointing two fingers up. Behind her was Hyunsoo, but his smile was very slight. He didn't remember when this photo was taken.
Eunyoo walked out behind the corner, coming closer to the boy. She stood in front him, when Hyunsoo raised his head.
"Hello," he greeted the girl
Eunyoo looked down at the phone which he was holding, seeing the picture on it. The girl pursed her lips, trying not to cry again. She put her hand in the pocket, and took from it the gold bracelet. Hyunsoo looked at her confused, as she wasn't saying anything. Eunyoo grabbed his hand, and pulled it to herself. The boy patiently wait for her, as she put the bracelet on his wrist, trying to lock it, but her hands were shaking.
"What is that?" he asked, watching the bracelet on his hand interested
Eunyoo wiped her cheeks, and took a deep breath, "It's... it's something that you should have"
Hyunsoo looked at her and smiled, "Thank you"
Eunyoo nodded her head, and walked away from him, rubbing her eyes. Hyunsoo started watching the jewellery on his wrist, touching it gently with his fingers. One tear strolled down his cheek, but he didn't know why.

Another stretcher with mr. Ahn body on it was brought to the cemetery, and put next to Soojin. On her other side was laying Byeongil. Mr. Ahn died in his sleep, peacefully. Sangwook's and Yuri's bodies didn't get brought from the outside.
The residents gathered around. Hyunsoo stood in the back, without being noticed. He watched how the girl being put inside one of the holes, when Eunhyuk grabbed the shovel, ready to cover her body. He was stopped by Eunyoo, who walked to her grave. She took out from her sweatshirt a pack of cigarettes, and threw in to the hole.
"You can smoke all of this," she said as she walked back to Jisu. The girls held each other by the arms
Yikyung walked to the cemetery, carrying with her Soojin's machete. As Eunhyuk was throwing the sand on the girl's body, she sticked it in the ground, next to the wooden cross with her name on it. Jisu sniffed her nose, twisting her head to Eunyoo.
"She said that we should live for Nayeon," she cried, "Both of us. Why she didn't do that?"
Eunyoo hugged the girl, who put her head on the younger girl's shoulder.
Yikyung took another shovel, and started digging the third hole, after Byeongil was put in second one. She hit on something. The metal sounded.
Hyunsoo looked down at the bracelet on his hand. He remembered. He remembered how she found it in someone's room, and how he gave it to Soojin. He remembered her smile, when he locked the bracelet on her hand. The tears came to his eyes, as he turned around and walked away from the room.
He found the place, where no one could find him. The boy slid down the wall, hiding his face in the dirty hands. He started sobbing, slowly remembering everything about Soojin. Her laugh, smile, her shining eyes. The way she was always touching her brown hair, tucking them behind ears, or just letting them cover her face. He remembered how she was always ready to protect others, even if she was vulnerable. The way she cared about Kim sibling, treating them like their own kids. Hyunsoo remembered when she stood in the doors of his apartment holding in her hands a box with food from the restaurant she worked in. He remembered how she was visiting him while he was locked in the quarantine room, the only person who was treating him then as a human and not a weapon.
"Why did you left me?" cried loudly the boy, "You broke the promise..."
He rubbed his forehead, trying to catch the breath. Hyunsoo laid on the ground, tears were falling on the cold tiles, as he closed his eyes. He felt empty. He was tired of crying, his throat was sore, and all he wanted is to have Soojin next to him, hug her, and so she could say that everything is going to be okay.
"Pinky promise," said Hyunsoo, holding the girl by the smallest finger on her hand, "Now none of us can't break the promise"
"I'm fine with that," she said smirking, "But you're probably gonna lose, moron"
Well, the girl was wrong. She was the one who lost.

"You're all surrounded. Surrender the infected immediately. Survivors will be transferred to a safety camp. You are completely surrounded"
Hyunsoo raised his head, hearing the man's voice. He slowly got up from the cold floor. It was his time.
The survivors that gathered in one room looked at each other. Jisu felt anger. Only few hours and Soojin could survive. She clenched her fingers on the handle of the half broken katana. Eunhyuk and Yikyung exchanged looks, knowing that none of them pressed the button. They left the room, quickly walking to the electrical room.
Hyunsoo walked slowly through corridors. Stomping on cold tiles with his bare feet. He wasn't nervous about what he was gonna do. He just hoped that it will finally end, when he's gonna give up. That he finally could find peace that he want.
The boy walked to the room. All the residents inside turned their heads to him. He walked pass them, without looking at anyone. But someone grabbed his hand.
"Where are you going?" Hyunsoo looked down at Yeongsu, "Your hands are cold. Are you cold?"
Hyunsoo didn't answer him. He looked at his sister, who was hugging the plushy panda to her chest. Her cheeks were shining from tears. Yeongsu took off the scarf that he was wearing, and started wrapping it around Hyunsoo's hand.
"I have to go," murmured the older boy
Yeongsu finished wrapping the scarf, "It's not cold if we're together"
"Stay here," said Eunyoo, making the boy look at her, "Stay with us"
"She would want you to stay with us," he turned his head to Jisu
But it didn't matter what Soojin would want, because she wasn't there anymore.
Hyunsoo looked back at Yeongsu who held his hand. The little boy hugged his hyung, when he put his hand on his arm.
He can't stay here.

The residents started running behind Yikyung when gunshots and big explosion sounded. They needed to go to the bunker, that they found earlier, under the cemetery. But Hyunsoo didn't follow them. He turned around, walking back to the lobby.
But before he left the building, he met Eunhyuk standing on the side. The boy stopped. His eyes were black when he looked at the scarf wrapped around his hand.
"I should've given this back," he said
Eunhyuk took out the earphone that was ringing loudly in his head, "It's not too late for that"
But Hyunsoo shook his head.
He continued his walk, leaving the other boy behind. The snow was snowing outside. Hyunsok heard a helicopter flying around the building when he walked out.
He stopped, standing with his bare feet in the snow, when winter took from him Yeongsu's scarf. The boy looked down at his hand. The gold bracelet was still there.
Hyunsoo was walking forward, fighting the strong wind, when the first bullet hit him. The blood splashed on the snow, but the boy was still walking. With every bullet, he remembered the life that he has lived for the past weeks.
"I'm Mae Soojin, I live in 1406. If you gonna need anything, don't be shy, I don't bite" the brown haired girl smiled to him, pulling out her hand
"You've met your match. She's also a loner"
"I don't think you should hide from the camera, you're really photogenic"
Hyunsoo put his hand on Soojin's mouth, when she almost gasped again while the blind monster walked pass them. They looked at each other with their eyes wide open as they were terrified. The boy felt girl's warm breath on his hand.
"Your boyfriend is a little shy, isn't he?" asked Han Dusik, when both teenagers blushed terribly
"You are the type of person, that when I'm spending time with you, I feel like I can say anything, and you won't judge me. That's a really good feeling, having someone like that," said Soojin, looking at Hyunsoo with a slight smile
"You wouldn't hurt anyone. Don't let them convince you, that it's otherwise. Have some faith in yourself"
Hyunsoo was watching her hands, when she started tapping on the knee with her pointing finger. Strands of brown hair fell on her face again, but she didn't do anything about that. The boy looked at her pink lips, which were moving, mouthing the lyrics of the song. She looked beautiful.
"We are the team, Hyunsoo"
"It was not your father anymore," said the boy and the girl sobbed in his chest, as he held her tighter, "It's okay Soo. It's okay"
"You are normal. You are as normal as me or anyone else. You are the bravest person I know"
"We gonna go through this, I promise you. Whatever happens, I'll stay by your side. I'll stay till death do us part.
"Hyunsoo, play with us," asked him Yeongsu
"Maybe later, we could try to learn how to shoot from the crossbow, what do you think?" Hyunsoo smiled softly, and so did Suyeong
"Stop asking stupid questions, Hyun"
"I like you Soojin"
The boy was washing off the blood that was coming out from girl's fresh cuts, trying to be gentle. She was sobbing quietly, looking at him gratefully.
"She's bullshiting," murmured Hyunsoo, turning his head to Soojin, "You are not pathetic"
"Thank you for understanding me"
Hyunsoo walked to her, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind. He put his chin on her shoulder, as she tilted her head.
"I think you are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen"
Hyunsoo held her body closer to his, starting to swing the same way as she was doing it. He looked in her brown eyes, as Soojin raised her head a little, smiling slightly. They were dancing to the music that played from the earphones, when their lips met each other.
"I'm trying to help you"
"Soojin, do you trust me?"
Hyunsoo brushed off the hair from Soojin's face, watching her features. He put a finger on her nose, feeling a little bump. He saw the girl smiling slightly under his touch.
"Just so you know, you can always come back to me. I'll wait for you"
"I love you Hyunsoo"
The boy yelled frustrated when the bullets didn't stop piercing his body. He felt that he was loosing all his energy. His eyes were slowly closing, as the tears were escaping his eyes, frizzing on his cheeks. The black appeared in front him when he closed his eyes. The boy fell on the ground, as cold snow embraced his body.
