min wanted the intro to feel like you're entering a different, mystical world. at the end of it, a door is heard slamming shut, signaling that we've entered this world; the world that was min's mind during quarantine.

about insecurity and the anxiety of relying on others for validation. fittingly, min wrote it at 3am at the beginning of quarantine, when she'd just begun feeling the affects of constantly being alone. she wanted a song that would the best to perform live once concerts in-person came back, so she wrote 3am.

03. haPPiness

min encourages listeners to keep their courage and faith, and that this time was more important than ever to stay hopeful and keep in contact with loved ones.

04. restless
(originally by bibi)

โ please, take me away with you.
wherever you are, i want to be by your side. โž

current streams  โ”โ” 122M
language  โ”โ” korean
song length  โ”โ”  4:27
being restless about not being with the people you love for long periods of time, which she very much felt during quarantine.

05. clementine
(originally by halsey)

โ i don't need anyone.
i just need everyone and then some. โž

current streams โ”โ” 138M
language โ”โ” english
song length โ”โ”  3:54
having a longing and desire to be reassured. min sings that she "doesn't need anyone" over and over again as if convincing herself, singing with defiance that she's happy to be alone and that having herself is enough.

06. intentions
(originally by leehi)

โ your intentions are a labyrinth of thoughts.
my mind is exhausted, they're a map i can't read. โž

current streams โ”โ”  115M
language โ”โ”  korean
song length โ”โ” 3:24
this wasn't really written about quarantine, but during it, and was just included in the album. about being tired of people using her and trying to figure out what their intentions are. just wanting to be with someone who wants to be with her because they love her, not having any hidden intentions.

07. ๋™๊ทธ๋ผ๋ฏธ์˜ ๊ฟˆ (Circle's Dream)
(originally by dalsooobin)

โ i wish i was angular. i want to
hurt you, too. โž

current streams  โ”โ” 191M
language  โ”โ” korean
song length  โ”โ” 2:54
this song was the result of one of many of min's 3am thoughts. she started thinking way too hard about circles personified and turned them into metaphors, which there are too many of in the song. this song is an entire metaphor for wishing you were someone different than who you are.

08.  springtime
(originally by wheein)

โ when you laugh like a child,
i'm melting down, down, down. โž

current streams  โ”โ” 103M
language  โ”โ” korean
song length  โ”โ”  2:40
although she feels the same way towards her fans & this is for them, too, springtime was written for jimin, which he himself confirmed on a livestream where he reacted to the album for the first time. the title & references to spring in the song refer to an interview where he referred to min as "being like the springtime"/"his springtime". she expresses her longing, yet excitement to see him again.

09.  jazz bar

(originally by dreamcatcher)

โ i think i love you, ooh, i love you.
oh, i like you. do i know you? โž

current streams  โ”โ”  136.1M
language  โ”โ” korean
song length  โ”โ”  3:34
this is another song that was written not necessarily about quarantine itself, but was one that was written during it that min just wanted to include. the singer expresses their interest and infatuation in someone rather mysterious they met singing at a jazz bar. min got the idea for this song after a conversation with rm, resulting them in writing it together over the phone for an hour.

010.  and there was no one left
(originally by dreamcatcher)

โ following the stars in the sky, following
this light, through this fog and towards myself. โž

current streams  โ”โ”  112M
language  โ”โ”  korean
song length  โ”โ”  2:52
wanting, desperately needing someone by your side while you try to figure out who you are, and feeling like there is no one left to be with you, which is how min felt with being alone over quarantine.

012.  ?
(originally by dodie)

current streams  โ”โ”  98M
language  โ”โ”  n/a
song length  โ”โ”  1:12
the outro does a good job at creating this weird feeling of suspense and dread. it sort of does a good job at encapsulating how quarantine made us feel. it can also feel like you're in a suspenseful part of a movie.

๐—ง๐—ฅ๐—œ๐—ฉ๐—œ๐—”

๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿญ. the man speaking in the voicemail at the end of 3am was one of her staff members, who was pretty drunk. the song he was referring to was hip.

๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ. this album kind of brought min back to her pre into you roots, when min was more of a vocalist and not so much as pop as her music is now.

๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฏ. min posted a tiktok of her dancing to circle's dream. that tiktok went viral, even among the locals, and many people, including idols, did what was coined as the 'circle dance' (for reference to the dance move, watch the original music video by dalsooobin & watch what she does in the chorus <3).

๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฐ.  although min wrote every song on this album, she co-wrote jazz bar and restless with rm and and there was no one left with nayeon and chaeyoung. the intro and ? were co-composed by her and zico.

๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฑ.  half of this album was home recorded, she had just sent the vocals to producers.
