Tails was pacing back and forth, his mind buzzing with excitement. He had this crazy idea that he just couldn't let go of, so he called Sonic over to tell him about it.

"Sonic!" Tails said, practically bouncing on his feet. "I have this amazing idea! I'm gonna make a robot!"

Sonic raised an eyebrow. "Uh, Tails, you remember how Metal Sonic went?"

"No, no! This is different!" Tails waved his hands around. "She's gonna be a good robot. Like, a helper robot! She's not gonna be like Metal Sonic. She'll be just like us!"

Sonic crossed his arms, not looking convinced. "Like us? Tails, that doesn't sound like a great idea. You sure you wanna mess with this?"

Tails nodded confidently. "Trust me, Sonic. I've got it all figured out. I'll make her look like one of us! She'll be a fox, like me. But she's not gonna be evil or anything. I'll program her to help us, not hurt us. I'll be back!"

Before Sonic could say anything else, Tails bolted back into his workshop and slammed the door shut. The sound of tools clanking and machines whirring could be heard from inside.

For the next few days, Tails barely came out of his workshop. He worked nonstop, his mind focused on his project. Every now and then, he would sneak out to grab what he needed from his friends.

First, he found Sonic relaxing under a tree. Tails casually plucked a quill from Sonic's back without him noticing.

"Hey, Tails, what's up?" Sonic asked, turning to look at him.

"Nothing! Just... uh... testing something" Tails said quickly before running off.

Then he spotted Amy sitting on a bench, fixing her hair. Tails walked up to her, pretending to chat, and grabbed a tiny piece of her hair accessory when she wasn't looking.

"Thanks, Amy!" he said, dashing away before she could even respond.

Next, he went to Knuckles, who was lifting weights near Angel Island.

"Hey, Knuckles, can I borrow this for a sec?" Tails asked, grabbing one of Knuckles' lighter weights.

Knuckles frowned. "Why do you need that?"

"Uh... science!" Tails said with a nervous smile before flying off.

Finally, Tails grabbed a bit of his own fur, wincing slightly as he plucked it out. He knew it was all worth it for his creation.

After days of nonstop work, Tails finally finished. He stepped back, wiping the sweat off his forehead, and looked at what he had created.

In front of him stood Y/n, a robot, but she didn't look like a robot at all. She looked like one of them a fox just like Tails, with soft fur being f/c and expressive eyes.

Tails smiled proudly. "I did it. I really did it."

Y/n opened her eyes for the first time, tilting her head as she looked at Tails.

"Hello!" she said softly.

Tails couldn't help but grin.

"Welcome to the team, Y/n!"
