CHAPTER 04ΛŽΛŠΛ—
SPARKS FLY

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

ΰ³ƒβ€βž· NOTES *ΰ©ˆβœ©β€§β‚ŠΛš

The weekend passed by terribly slow and she hadn't seen Ponyboy since Friday night because Rebecca wanted to have a sleepover. Though Juliette wanted to protest she really couldn't or she would feel bad.

Soon enough Monday rolled around and that meant school, but atleast she could see Ponyboy. Rebecca insisted on what was going on between the two but she refused to open up.

"Come on Julie tell me" she pleaded as the two girls walked to school Juliette rolled her eyes her eyes at the question she heard so frequently, "nothing is going on! He was asking me a question about our English homework" She made up a quick lie as Rebecca sighed. "If you say so" she replied condescending as Juliette sent her a glare.

"Im just looking out for you, i dated a greaser last year and he was a asshole, i just dont want it to happen to you" Rebecca defended and looked to Juliette who was very obviously annoyed. "I understand but were not going to date!" She protested as Rebecca looks to her unwillingly but soon nodded her head slowly.

The two girls soon made it to school which was relieving, to get away from Rebeccas constant pestering. The first few classes went okay it pained her though that Ponyboy was in most of her classes but she couldn't talk to him or even really look at him.

It was english and a note flew on her desk she looked around and saw Ponyboy who sat diagonally from her seat, she smiled a little and quietly opened the paper.

She smiled as the note and checked yes and secretly passed it it back to him as he opened it and turned around to give her a thumbs up. She tapped her pencil on her desk already zoning out what the teacher was lecturing about.

It felt odd to Juliette because she felt around ponyboy she didnt have to pretend to be someone shes not, she could be herself and so could he. She knew Ponyboy was a quiet boy because she never saw him talk to anyone besides Johnny, and thats even if he decided to come to school which was a rare occasion, after what events happened last year.

And besides Ponyboy skipped freshman year so even then if he did have friends they were younger than him and he rarely ever saw them anyways. Which made her feel better because she knew Ponyboy trusted her and felt safe around her, which shocked her nonetheless. But it also made her stomach feel tingly and her cheeks blush whenever he smiled or laughed at her jokes.

Which nobody ever did, Ponyboy made her feel seen and not just her brothers younger sister that everybody painted her as, and ponyboy was the first person to make her feel like this. She never thought she would ever think or say these words but she was falling for Ponboy Curtis, and she didnt feel ashamed like she should be.

The end of the school day rolled around and that meant hanging out with Ponyboy which made her nerves increase and the butterfly's to fly faster in her stomach, even thinking about Ponyboy made her nervous.

"Hey Julie!" The familiar voice greeted her as she turned around to see Ponyboy running up to her, "hey ponyboy" she greeted him as she picked her cuticles which he picked up on but didnt say anything.

"You ready to go to our spot?" He asked while smiling as she nodded her head eagerly, "lead the way" she joked as he let out a small chuckle. "So hows life?" He asked out of the blue after moments of silence, "its um decent i guess what about you?" She asked as he put his hands in his jean pockets.

"You know the same" he replied as Juliette nodded her head as they walked in silence again on the broken down sidewalk, "you know a few greasers told my older brother darry about ya" he swallowed the lump in his throat as she raised her eyebrows.

"Oh really?" She responded as he shuffled his feet looking down to the eroded concrete, "yeah he and the gang wants to meet ya, but i dunno i dont want the gang to scare ya off" he explained as she nodded her head with her cheeks growing more and more red by the minute.

"I dunno but its up to ya if you wanna meet them" he told her as she nodded her head slowly looking at him, "oh, just let me know whenever" she replied as her stomach fluttered again, god she hated that feeling sometimes.

"It's totally up to ya im not pressuring you or nothin" he assured her as she nodded her head, "ill think about it" she smiled a little bit as he nodded his head and looked down to the ground and smiled. Her cheeks reddened at his invitation to meet the other greasers which scared her to meet them. Especially meeting Darry and even Dally, the only greasers she found the least intimidating were Johnny and Ponboy.

The two made it up to the hill as they sat down looking over part of town, chatting occasionally but mostly sitting in a comfortable silence. The nerved were building up in both Ponyboy and Juliette because neither of them had been in a relationship nor ever hung out with someone they found attractive.

"Just so ya know, when you meet the gang. Once you get to know them their not as intimidating as they look" Ponyboy explained as she nodded her head looking over into his greenish eyes, "ill see when my parents will be out of town" she promised as he nodded his head and cracked his knuckles out of nerves. The two sat in a semi awkward but also somewhat comfortable silence until Juliette had to head home.
