never judge a book by its cover, never judge a person by their smile
The wind chattered through the streets, the rain danced upon the rooftops and the sunlight contrived with the moonlight to keep the town in ever-glow. hyunjin had just moved to Levanter Street not long ago, deciding to take things his pace and pursue dance and music as an occupation. however, he had to find a way to make ends meet. such lessons and training weren't the very least affordable and he didn't want to depend on his parents too much. therefore, he decided to get a job at the nearby cafΓ©, " BIN'S BLUEPRINT".
the ambiance of the cafe, its homey aroma, draws the souls of people into its cocoon for a few blessed moments. the cafe was crowded as usual, with minho and changbin playfully growling at each other, fighting over who gets to be the cashier for the day. he was more than happy to have been able to land such an amazing job! surrounded by friends he made and he had such nice employers and a fairly good pay that would do more than suffice.
people came rushing though the door, eagerly anticipating for their desired beverage to reach their hands. minho and changbin decided to hand the job of the cashier over to hyunjin since he had never tried it before. oh how disappointing! he was too naive in his thinking to assume that he would meet someone cute or a boy that caught his eyes. however, he was only met with faces that didn't stand out to him, taking their orders with a practiced smile forcefully plastered on his face.
and so it went on this way. people coming in and going out with a drink in hand, or clusters of people situated at tables, chattering away. before they knew it, it was already 9pm! it was time to close up. the customer's excited conversations soon simmered and came to a complete stop, replacing the cafe with the sound of brewing machines being washed under harsh streams of water and the sound of shoes against the tiled floor. hyunjin was in charge of cleaning the cafe that day, swooshing his mop back and forth, cleaning away at the floor. his gaze was empty as his mind ran elsewhere.
" oh my goodness! can i still order? "
hyunjin was startled by the voice that snapped his mmm out of his reverie. his eyes hesitatingly travelled to the source of the voice. his heart instantly stopped when he was met with the most beautiful boy he had ever seen in his life. his heart was already pounding against his chest when he saw the boy smile, wiping away the sweat that trickled down his forehead.
" i'll make an exception for you young man! what would you like to order? "
hyunjin asked in a sickly sweet voice that didn't go unnoticed by the elder, earning a small chuckle and a shy smile back.
" i would like a cup of ice americano please! "
the man chirped happily, feeling the awkwardness drain away from his body at the sight of the barista/ cashier smiling widely at him.
" he's just like chris.. "
hyunjin thought to himself, smiling sickly at the thought of the close resemblance between the boy and his ex.
im not sure if you'll consider this " Chris " guy to be hyunjin's ex, considering that hyunjin did stab him a total of 10 times when he tried to escape. from the exact words of hyunjin, " i was already being very nice.. "
he managed to hide his maniacal personality behind his innocent appearance. at first glance, he was nothing but a cute barista who enjoyed wearing hoodies and loved pastel colours. anything but a psychopath. the dead bodies buried in his backyard would beg to differ.
hyunjin started to grind away at the coffee beans with much fervour. the sound of the coffee beans crushing against each other, watching them turn into brown ashes. he imagined their screams and their begs for mercy. how it brought pure joy to his ears! after which, he added hot water to the brew, some milk and sloshed the mixture around before adding ice. his favourite part! they sounded too much like bones clashing against one another.
the mixture was gently poured into a clear cup, and handed to Chan with both hands.
" thank you for coming! "
hyunjin exclaimed, trying to fight his invasive thoughts that clouded his mind. he couldn't help but think that Chan would look oh so extremely pretty covered in blood.
" o-oh heh.. may.. i have your number? "
" of course! "
hyunjin typed away at Chan's phone, making sure to add hearts beside his name. it was a trick that was sure to make many flustered honestly. nothing new.
warm coffee, foam art, soothing music; the coffee shop was finally done for the night. hyunjin made sure to lock the door before heading for home. he had waved Chan goodbye after the latter had exchanged numbers. he was sure that the boy would visit again tomorrow.
AUSSIE.CHAN

it's okay to deny haha
HEY.HWANG
of course, i would love to

AUSSIE.CHAN
oop-
and it's pancake papi hyung okay? im obviously older >:(
anyways , see you tomorrow β¨sexi sausage β¨
hyunjin smirked at the text messages, chuckling a little at the nickname Chan called him. " so he's hyung? "
hyunjin kicked his legs, chin in hands as he laughed to himself. another prey!
as agreed, both of them met at the movies for their date. hyunjin didn't have to work today since han was covering his shift for him.
he styled his hair messily, making sure the set of jet black hair was fluffier than usual. he even applied a faint layer of blush around his cheeks to appear even cuter than usual. his tall frame was hidden by the oversized white hoodie that hid his hands slightly.
" hey! umm you look so cute! "
Chan smiled sweetly at him, cocking his head to his side due to habit. Chan looked like he wore the night sky on his shoulders. every single clothing item was all black! he was drenched in the dark colour, every single apparel from head to toe was all on the same shade, black.
" you don't look too bad yourself! hmm why do you only wear black? "
hyunjin's mouth was in an " o " shape, his voice laced with genuine curiosity.
" well.. it's a great colour! there are so many great things in the world... like you! "
hyunjin felt himself blush at the elder's words , shuffling his feet nervously as he struggled to free the words that bubbled at his throat.
" o-oh! umm.. t-thanks.. go.. um.. movie.. now! "
hyunjin couldn't help but choke on his words helplessly, more than flustered at the elder's bold choice of words.
" okay cutie.. "
chan smiled warmly at hyunjin, following the younger's lead to the movie theatre.
unknown to the elder, hyunjin had selected quite the movie.. a horror movie to begin with. for starters, the main character started to smash the victim's head in half with a hammer, his brains pouring out from his half-broken skull.
" just like an egg hahah! "
Chan whipped his head to the left, not knowing what to say to hyunjin. unlike the elder, the taller was laughing with his jaw unhinged. he kept giggling about the man's skull resembling a hard boil egg, with all his contents spilled out of him.
" i would use a chain saw if i were him... "
hyunjin yawned, unamused at the violent scene that unfolded before him. blood was spilling out of the little girl's stomach and chest. the main character was hovering over he injured frame, using a scalpel to tear away at her skin. he knew from experience that a chain saw was a much better alternative to destroy a victim straight way. undeniably, the blood could get everywhere.. but the anticipation made the messy blood splatters worthwhile.
" u-umm what? i am s-scared.. "
Chan whimpered lowly, growing more and more unsettled at the boy's comments. he visibly shook like a leaf, trying his best to not cry. after all, he was hyunjin's hyung.. and how could he put away his pride so easily?
" oh! i was just reciting lines from another movie hahaha, don't be afraid hyung! "
hyunjin slung his arm lazily around chan's broad shoulders, a little bit taken aback at the astounding length. the shorter managed to rest his head in the crook of the other's shoulder, head peeking out just the slightest to watch the gruesome scene.
" don't be afraid! because that would happen to you too ~ "
hyunjin's voice came out as a whisper, going unnoticed by Chan who was too fixated on the movie to notice anything else.
the movie credits started to roll as hyunjin stretched his limbs. he gently shook Chan, signalling him to wake up.he smirked sickly at the elder, before leaving the theatre hand in hand.
by then, it was already 7pm!
" do you want to eat dinner with me? "
" oh! i actually cooked today! would you like to come to my house? "
hyunjin smiled so widely his lips hurt from such a stretch. he excitedly shuffled his feet in anticipation. his plan was working so well, just one more step..
" o-oh sure! "
oh my goodness, hyunjin wanted to squish that stupid smile off chan's face by crushing his head into the nearest wall. it made him feel so warm and flustered, something he didn't feel in a very long time.
when they reached hyunjin's house, the night had already fallen. faint outlines of misty clouds could be seen in the vast abyss. the two of them entered hyunjin's house, smiling at each other the whole time.
" make yourself at home, hyung! " hyunjin announced to Chan, before muttering " it'll be your only home for a very long time.."
hyunjin reheated the pot of miso soup that minho had generously shared with him. "oops! i didn't see you there! " hyunjin half-whispered. he accidentally bumped his elbow against a ziplock back that contained the head of Mr Tanzuki which he murder not so long ago. he kept him in there because he simply wanted to.
" there you go! "
hyunjin set out the food on the table, not missing the way chan's eyes widened at the spread of food that was presented before him.
their talk was littered with smiles, the real communication, not the words. it told them of the love that lay there, unspoken, forbidden. it was as obvious as the morning sun, as real as the grass. the feeling flowed through them as the conversation filled the air. both of them enjoying each other's presence. however, only one of them were aware of what was going to happen next.
they had both finished their dinner, with hyunjin putting away the dirty dishes into the sink.
" thank you for today hyunjin-ah! hope to see you again... "
chan was one step away from the door, an arm's length away from the doorknob. he was ready to leave in all honesty.
however, hyunjin was way faster. he grabbed onto chan's arm with much strength, doubting his strength just the slightest but hardening his grip instead.
" where do you think you're going, hyung? "
hyunjin knew that violence wasn't the answer, yet his body had a mind of its own. he held a sharp, polished knife against chan's Adam Apple, feeling it bob down due to chan's nervous gulping.
" u-umm... "
chan swallowed dryly and managed to choke out a low whimper, uncertainty filled his body. he was paralysed with fear, his feet rooted to the ground.
" well.. i knew you were the right one! ever since you ordered ice americano.. would you like to meet chris? "
without waiting for chan's reply, hyunjin dragged Chan to the backyard by the hair, before roughly shoving him down onto the ground.
" aha! there's chris... i couldn't really see him in the mass of dead bodies.. i can almost see the resemblance.. "
hyunjin's face was littered with soil particles and sweat clung his clothes onto his back. he panted from digging up the corpse, but still regained his composure. he held up the beheaded man in his hand, lifting it up so Chan could see the ghostly grey skin and the dried blood blotches on his bashed in face.
" hmm.. yea.. you're right! i can't really see the resemblance right now.. but he looked a lot like you when you smile! would you like to be mine? "
chan was pushed to the edge, the harsh bite on his bottom lip only caused blood to spill from the pressure. yet, tears gradually started to fall from the corner of his eyes, streams of tears messily fell onto his face. in his whooping 25 years of his life, he had never seen anything as gruesome and horrifying!
why did he have to order ice americano on that very day?
luckily, hyunjin did the thinking for Chan.
before he knew it, a black cloth was wrapped around his eyes and a handkerchief soon found its way onto the crook of his nose. he took in a whiff of the soaked material, eyes closing involuntarily at the pungent scent.
a wave of oblivion washed over him, sending him into the unknown abyss. whatever had happened was soon forgotten and were all in the hands of hyunjin.
!! THIS DOES NOT DESCRIBE THEM IN REAL LIFE. PURE FICTION !!
