-- Y/N POV --

I did not appreciate the air of secrecy and disdain. I felt ultimately disgusted at myself, feeling these ugly things that had not been of virtue. I could feel my composure slipping graciously by each little second, and I had felt embarrassed to lose myself in front of Lucifer this way.

Should I make my proposal now ?

"Say, I heard of Adam complaining about your dear daughter, Morningstar... A hotel? For redemption? It's endearing, really." I cast my gaze down, hearing him shift on his feet as he moved slightly closer. He had cleared his throat slightly,

"Yes? What are you getting at, Eveningstar?"

"Charlie has a very compelling idea, Morningstar. But, there's a problem. She strikes me as a dreamer, much as you are."

"... You have no right to imply such things, Eveningstar. Charlie and I are not the same--"

"You misunderstand, Sam-- Lucifer! I want to support it... I want to ... I've talked to my sisters! I have curated an idea, I'd like to monitor it..."

"Monitor, Eveningstar? Whatever do you mean? You mean you'd... You'd actively be in Hell?" I felt myself sigh at his words, indirectly that was what I had implied ... I moved to touch my face with my palm,

"If it is well monitored, seeing and helping the cause, it might work ... I mean, not many angels believe in redemption, ofcourse. Which, to me, is utterly impossible to not believe in. Anyone and everyone deserves a second chance, you can't fix people ... but you can give them a chance to change."

Lucifer's eyes seem to sparkle at my words, becoming soft as he frowned deeply, he shook his head. He now had a slightly unreadable expression, but he seemed slightly agitated.

"You're a dreamer yourself, Y/N. Whether you chose to never realize or admit it, you're hypocritical." I furrowed my brows, biting the inside of my cheek. I moved to manifest a piece of paper before myself, taking it as I began to write some topics we had discussed prior for my sisters to oversee.

Silently I could feel my eye twitch ... No one up here called me Y/N much more. Him saying it had felt like a bad omen, threatening to rip me apart.

"Do not suggest such nonsense, Morningstar. I will be helping your Charlie. My sisters had already conversed and they had agreed. I'll arrive there shortly. I'm only telling you this so you are aware that an angel will be entering your territory.

No other reason."

He continued to frown, shaking his head. He moved to take a hold of his hat, taking it off as he lowered it.

"That's fine. I wasn't thinking that. But I ... I haven't seen you ... in eons, Y/N." I grimaced, looking away completely as I placed the piece of paper down on my desk.

Finally.

Unfortunately, but finally.

"You haven't, that's true. But, it was for the better of things. I don't think Heaven would've accepted an occurrence in meeting, anyway."

"Don't act so nonchalant... You can't be-"

"Lucifer. We're both entirely different entities by this day, I am not the same from then as you are not. Regarding... everything." I held onto my hands, now standing idly as I watched his form with a steady sorrowful look. He hadn't looked angelic anymore, his appearance had changed drastically into much more demonic flare.

"I don't believe that, Y/N. Really, I don't. You're still the same... You're acting the way you did at the trial, aren't you?" he sneered lowly, I had frowned. Looking downwards with shame.

"I'm not ... rueful." I had felt my voice strain and shake slightly as I had looked around at the floor, "You did something wrong, n-not I. You were to fall... You had acted ruthlessly... You... You chose ... her."

He had stayed silent for a moment. I had peered up to him in an attempt to read his expression but he had looked away himself. I sighed softly.

He moved to place his hat back onto his head, adjusting it slightly. He rubbed his hands together,

"... I was tricked... naive."

"Tricked? You? You must be joking, Morningstar." I softly scoffed, watching him intensely as my expression contorted into slight anger.

"... Ofcourse I never loved you, Y/N! Just because God had created us to be bound together does not mean I ever loved you that way! I have my own mind, you were never what I had pictured to be with."

"You're reaching, Samuel! You're so high in the clouds of your mind... Please, come down.. I know you do not mean these words. I forgive you! I always will, I'll always follow you!"

"No."

"You always had a mind of your own, Lucifer. It had always been you, not everything or anything else. Just you! You chose to want to drive your destiny in another direction, your idea of choice brought us here."

"... But do you forgive me?"

- scrapped dialog for this chapter before I changed the notion, haha :

"Dearest Morningstar. Heed my proposal, say I take the place of Adam? He is the inevitable leader of these ... profound exterminations, but I, as a Seraphim, may replace the archangel easily to your benefit. Unless you'd prefer another angel to host these meetings with you?"

I felt slightly enraged within myself, exceeding to such dire lengths for a wretched failed-being as himself. I felt it necessary, though... And secretly, I had manifested it within my mind, longing to see him more often...

"Eveningstar... You'd... abuse your position to benefit me? Make me more comfortable? The most hated being of all creation?"

I clicked my tongue in reply, looking sideways as I had continued to smile. Quickly I had peered at him once more,

"Do you reject? Do you require a variant of my hypothesis?"

"No, no... no. Your proposal is perfectly welcomed... And I would ... prefer you." his eyes lidded, grinning teasingly. I softly scoffed, lifting my hand with a swift movement as if to dismiss him.
"Old-time flatterer." I had then moved backwards slightly, sitting upon my desk slightly as I continued to eye him. My lips had parted once more,
