Kageyama Ritsu's POV

The tournament lasted for about an hour, and I gotta say, seeing (Y/n)-senpai flawlessly defeat five enemies all by herself is really satisfying. Who knew that a hard-working student like her has a secret life like this? She's the least person you'll suspect playing this game.

"Wow, she's really good," Sho beside me said as he kept his gaze on the large TV screen in front.

I looked over to Teru-san to see him chatting with someone on his phone. I raised a brow but didn't bother to ask. Hmm, must be one of his girlfriends.

10 minutes have passed and the crowd started yelling and cheering, it seemed like the fight between two teams has been getting intense.

The standing for the two teams were currently at 12-12. And i've heard that whoever gets the first 13 will win the tournament, meaning they'll be getting the prize money individually.

And the prize money for every five contestant is 5,000Β₯.

(I converted 5000 yen to Philippine pero and it's 1900+.)

Wow.

Suddenly, I felt a tap on my shoulder as I look over to see who did it. It was Teru-san.

"What?" I asked as I raised an eyebrow at him.

"I'm going to meet someone outside, be right back," He said as he stood up from his seat as I nodded.

I watch him got out of the gaming cafe.

"Where's he going?" Sho asked as he also looked over to Teruki who made his way out of the door.

"He said he's gonna meet someone outside," I replied to him as he nodded.

"(Y/n)-san is so good at the game, damn," He said.

I nodded and chuckled, "She's actually the least person that I expect being a god in this game. She always looked so strict and hardworking," I said to him with a smile.

"In short, your senpai is amazing," Sho said as he laughed afterwards. Sho then suddenly stopped laughing as he looked at me with those big eyes of his, I sweat dropped.

"What?" I asked.

"She's not an esper, right?" He asked with a serious.

I scoff, "No, she's not." I said in which made him sigh in relief.

"Woah! Finally a normal friend!" Sho said with a big grin.

I rolled my eyes and decided to go back to paying attention at (Y/n)-senpai's gameplay. She's really impressive, and her gaming skills to this game surely oppose some of the elite pro-players, she's amazing.

"I'm back~" I heard Teru said behind the two of us.

I looked back at him to see who he just brought in here. And my eyes widened in shock.

"Nii-san?!" I said in surprise as I stood up from my seat.

"Hello, Ritsu. What are you doing here?" He asked.

My eyes were wide as I don't know what I should say. I looked over to Teru-san who's just giving me a innocent smile.

"Oh, is that (Y/n)-san over there?" My brother asked as he looked over up front to see (Y/n) playing.

"Shige, what are you doing here?" I asked as I sat beside him.

"Hanazawa-san texted me that I should go here. He didn't told me that you're here too, what are you doing here?" He asked.

"I-I'm with (Y/n)-senpai. Mizuki asked me to come with her here because he's worried about her safety," I replied.

Third Person's view

The whole crowd cheered and shouted which made Shigeo flinch as he looked around to see them standing up and jumping. Must be from the excitement.

"CLUTCH THIS (Y/N)-CHAN!!"

Someone cheered in the crowd. Shigeo's attention was caught by that shout. Was it from a stranger? If so, then why does Shigeo felt weird about it?

If only he had the confidence to also cheer for you. He may not understand what this game is, but he knows that you're doing good with it.

But why does it feel weird that someone is cheering for you?

"YOU CAN CLUTCH THIS (Y/N)!!"

Shigeo was once again startled when he heard Ritsu. He was also joining in the cheer of the whole crowd. His little brother was smiling, so does Sho and Teruki.

Is he being out of place again?

He looked down at the ground as he balled his hand into a fist. Is he not reading the room? Was there a need to join with the crowd?

Shigeo felt that there's a need to join and cheer for you.

But he doesn't have the guts to shout how much he supports you in this game.

Now he knows the weird feeling.

It was envy.

He envy those people who can shout, be confident at cheering their friend. Of course, he felt bad for not being able to cheer for you, but you already have a lot of supporters, is he even needed?

Shigeo took a deep breath as he looked up to your direction to see you with a smile as you place on what ever is on your screen.

He gulped as he opened his mouth.

"Go (Y/n)!"

.

.

.

Your eyes widened as you were beginning to get out of focus from your game. You can't look at the crowd, you're in the middle of the crossfire in the game.

Was that Shigeo's voice?

It made your heart race inside your chest as your cheeks heat up.

"Last Player Standing!"

The game announced. You're the only one that's alive to clutch the whole round, it was the last round, and if you clutch this you win the prize money of 5000Β₯.

"You can do this, (Y/n)," Your team mate spoke beside you. His name is Ken Yoong, a Korean exchange student and is currently in highschool.

"Last two enemies were seen in B Long, and in Elbow," Another one of your team mate spoke as you nodded. It was Sio, he's also in middle school but older than you by 1 year.

You took a deep breath as you composed yourself. The crow began to get quiet as the announcer requested.

Alright, one thing to do about this is to stay calm and don't panic. Don't lose your aim, that's much more important. You didn't look back at the crowd, you know you're going to see Ritsu and his friends, worse you might see Shigeo and lose your focus.

Everyone's eyes were glued on the big screen that displays your gameplay.

They were quiet.

"Spike carrier killed."

The game announce.

It was intense. You were playing the hiding game for the last enemy to get the spike, you were starting to get nervous.

.

.

.

"Woah, this is intense, everyone's quiet," Sho said beside Ritsu as he nodded.

Shigeo looked over to Sho. He doesn't really understand the mechanics of this game, so it kind of worries him that what if they see him trying to fit in?

"(Y/n)-chan's gameplay is nothing compared to the last enemy, I'm sure she clutch this really easy," Teruki said as Shigeo looked over to him.

Teru's calling (Y/n) by her first name. Are they already closed friends? If so, then why did Shigeo bother to think that through? Something's definitely bothering him when it comes to (Y/n), but whenever that time always comes, he always shrugs it off or just plainly ignore it.

"(Y/n) better treat us food after she won," Sho said.

Even Sho calls her by her first name...

Shigeo feels very weird and odd.

"You're way too quiet, Kageyama-kun. Not liking the crowd, I suppose?" Teruki asked as he placed a hand on his shoulder.

Shigeo snapped out of his thoughts as he give Teru a small smile and nodded, "I'm alright," He paused, he was about to say something about him feeling weird but he took it back immediately. He doesn't want to ruin their fun by being worried about him.

"SIO'S TEAM WON!"

The announcer shouted with a lot of excitement as he coughed afterwards.

The whole crowd began to scream and shout once again.

Ritsu and the others also joined in, leaving Shigeo to just stand there without doing anything, he just stand there with a blank look on his face.

But on the inside, he feel very conflicted about what he suppose to feel towards (Y/n).

Poor Shigeo.

✧

"I WON! I WON! I WON! I WON!" You jump up and down in front of your team as they just laughed at your behavior. After all, you are the youngest out of all of them.

Shigeo watched your action in a distance. It's been a while that he's seen you with that type of behavior, and he wondered why you never show it at the school.

Maybe because of the title that you're holding.

Shigeo's eyes widened as his cheeks suddenly flushed pink when your eyes met with him. Though, he didn't looked away as he watch you approach him.

"Shige-chan! What are you doing here?" You said with a smile as you stand next to him.

Shigeo was about to say something when Sho beats him to it.

"You won! You better treat us!" He said with a huge grin.

You laughed as you nodded, "Of course! All snack are on me! Let's go!" You said as you look back at Shigeo who's just staring at you.

Realizing what he's been doing, he quickly looked away. You chuckled, "Come on, Shige-chan!" You said as he grab his arm as you pulled him as the two of you catch up to the three, who are already making their way out of the gaming cafe.

"(Y/n)-san?" Shigeo called out.

You looked back at him as you quickly let go of his shoulder, "Oh! Sorry..." You apologized as you give him a nervous smile, "I just got really excited. It won't happen again, Shigeo," You said as you slightly bowed, giving him a apologetic look.

'No, that's not it...'

He thought. He held this blank look so you couldn't really tell if he's fine with it or not.

Shigeo decided to drive away the awkwardness in the air, "Can you treat me some milk mochi?" He said.

Your eyes widened in surprise, but eventually you give him a grin as you laugh, "Of course!" You said.
