"so you really got rejected?" hiyyih snickered while eating her fries.

the three freshmen are sitting on the table located on the corner of the cafeteria, almost near the exit.

"how many times do i have to say it for you to believe me?" riki shot her a glare, making hiyyih raise her hands up.

"sheesh, okay! calm your broken heart down."

jungwon rolled his eyes as he watch the two. he stared at his iced coffee, trying to absorb the whole situation his friend just got into.

riki's out here having love problems, while i can't even get a wink of sleep because someone's been piling works on me. he sighed. life is so unfair.

"why the fuck did you even do that?" jungwon finally speaks. "if i was sunoo hyung, i would've been weirded out and i'll definitely avoid you for life."

ni-ki groaned. "honestly, i'd do the same. thank goodness he's so nice."

"of course he is. he's a literal angel and you're...well, a dumb human. you two dating? not possible." jungwon glanced at him before eating his food again.

hiyyih frowned. "we've only been freshmen for a month,but you two already look so dead inside." she opened her backpack and handed each of them a small bottle of sunscreen.

"there, use that well and stop going around with that face." she gets up and grabs her things. "i still have a class, see you later!"

the two boys waved goodbye to her and continued eating their lunch. after a while, jungwon noticed riki staring at something behind his back.

"hey, earth to nishimura."

"it's sunoo hyung."

jungwon took a glance behind him, noticing the pink-haired boy amongst the crowd. he almost let out a groan when he also caught a glimpse of their strict editor-in-chief.

riki shifts on his seat. "won, can we invite them to our table?"

fucking hell. "you want me to get indigestion?"

inviting sunoo hyung is okay, but also his friends? yeah, no thanks.

but before he can even complain more, riki was already waving his hand enthusiastically in the air. "sunoo hyung, here!"

since their table consists of six chairs— three on each side, jungwon almost froze when one of sunoo's friends sat beside him.

i remember this guy, it's the talkative one. oh no, somebody please get me out of here.

jay cleared his throat, putting his chopsticks aside before speaking. "how's the college life so far? you two enjoying it?"

the boy beside him— i think his name's jungwon— gave him a small smile. "yeah, all's good so far. a lot of works to do but i'm great."

jay raised an eyebrow. is he pertaining to someone? or am i mistaken? he gives him a nod and proceeds to observe the three people who are quietly eating.

"hey riki, did jake tell you already?"

riki turned his head to look at him. "about what, hyung?"

"we still have a slot on the team. wanna join us?"

the younger shakes his head. "nope, i'm all right. i don't think i can handle another extra curricular activity."

jay pouted. "aw, you really wanna focus on being sunoo's photojournalist huh?"

at the sudden mention of his own name, sunoo coughs. heeseung quickly hands him a glass of water while rubbing his back.

sunghoon chuckles. "were you that hungry?" he opens his backpack and gives him a pack of tissue.

sunoo gets one and wipes it on his mouth. "sorry, i was eating too fast because i have a class after this."

heeseung stares at him. "wait here, i'll get you more water." the older stands up and walks towards the counter.

"get me one too!" jay yelled before heeseung could get further away.

riki also wanted to help, but it seems like there's nothing else he could do. why are they so fast in helping sunoo hyung? i wish i could do that too.

in the midst of all that, jungwon was observing each of their behavior. he can't help but notice something strange.
