I sulked as I pant from jogging around the house. I probably looked dumb when I rushed my jumping jacks in the living room..

I'm one to exercise to blow off steam but exercising for tomorrow and having to make time for reviewing magical history and etc? This is just like cramming for final exams except there's something physical included...

I've already done push-ups, sit-ups, and squats so I'm probably good to go now. I'm a bit fit for someone who plays games all day if you ask me.

Puzzles are easy, I already know the gist of them.. And I'm pretty educated about magic and history so this should be easy.

I sat down on my bed and sigh, glancing at the table to see the snacks that my mom brought in a few hours ago.

I picked up the glass of water and drank it all, stretching my limbs as I think about what I could use for tomorrow.

While munching on some biscuits, an idea suddenly pops up in my head.

" Hold on a minute... Aren't relics useful for these kind of situations? It could really help me tomorrow─ Mom!! "

I mumbled to myself before I excitedly call for my mom and rush out of my room to my mother's lab.

The lab was filled with shelves lined with ancient times, magical artifacts, and glowing crystals.

My mother was a renowned relic researcher, she wasn't that popular but she was known for her excellent work.

I knock on the door, before slowly opening it and walking in. I saw her engrossed in her work, but she looked up and smiled warmly at me.

" Hey, mom. I need your help with something. "

I spoke up sheepishly with an awkward smile. She hummed, tilting her head slitghtly to the side.

" Of course, dear. What do you need? "

She replied brushing off the non-existent dust off of her, and walk towards me.

" Well, I'm pretty sure that you already know about the entrance exam tomorrow, right? So, I was thinking, it would be really helpful if I had a relic to assist me. Considering my lack of abilities right now.. "

She paused, considering my request before replying with a hum.

" Hmm, I see. You want something to give you an edge. "

" That's right! Something that can help me stand out, even though I have no magical abilities. "

I replied nodding with imaginary sparkles around me. My mom chuckled before turning and signalling me to follow.

" I think I have just the thing. "

She lead me to a secluded corner of the lab, where glass cases display an array of dazzling relics. She carefully selected a brooch that was in a shape of a stylized cupcake.

It had a polished broze surface adorned with intricate frosting-like patterns, while the central gemstone radiates a warm, inviting glow.

She handed me the brooch with a knowing smile.

" Here, take this. This is called the Sweet Seraph Brooch. It'll be your source of inspiration and strength at the academy. "

She handed it to me, the warm glow of the gemstone drawing me in. It felt like it was somehow related to me, like it was a piece of my soul.

" This brooch embodies your passion for baking and poetry. " She explained. " it will infuse your surroundings with positivity and creativity, guiding your journey with its gentle influence. "

" Pretty cool, huh? "

She added as she walked away to grab a file from a drawer before walking back to hand it to me.

" This is the file containing what the brooch does and it's stats, it would be useful considering you still don't have the tool to just magically know what the stats of a relic is. "

She explained as she smiled and cross her arms.

" I used to go to the Arcane Academy of Lumina, so basically, I also used to go to the school that you were invited to when I was your age. "

She added proudly as she sighs, reminiscing the memories she had there.

" Anyways, be sure to make use of it. You still have much more to learn. "

I nodded in astonishment as I thank her for the relic and information before leaving the lab to go back to my room.

I mumbled to myself as I inspect the relic before glancing down at the file that was previously handed to me by my mother.

" I should check the stats.. "

I put down the brooch before picking up the file and opening it to see the information about the brooch.

Okay.. What the hell? Is this a joke?

I stared at the information in pure shock before glancing back at the brooch after reading its description.

" Why are the abilities so stacked?.. IT'S AN S-RANK RELIC???? "

I looked at the information with bulging eyes with my jaw dropped.

Though I had no magic, I still had mana. I was unable to use them directly due to the lack of training and the inability to cast spells.

The abilities of the brooch could greatly benefit me because I could use my latent mana. I'm saved!!

' No wonder mom was so sly about it.. She really gave it some thought, she's a literal lifesaver!! ' I thought to myself as I comically cried happily.

It was getting dark so I should go and rest for tomorrow. I sighed and lay down on my bed, putting the brooch and the file on the table near my bed.

I then grab a book about basic mechanics of magic, maybe reading some books before I sleep would help me for tomorrow's exam.

I hum, opening the book in content as I read. Tomorrow is gonna be a big day.
