" they are closing in!" The voice echoed through the hall, sound waves making the audience roar in anticipation

You huff, preparing your arms for another set. They ached from playing for hours on end and it didn't help your team had a ratio of 2 against 4 points

" [y/n]!!! Watch out!" Sasha snapped you out of your focus, you look at her and see the ball fly pass you

You slide down trying to revive the ball but to no avail

You ended up on the floor as the whistle was heard. It was extremely taunting for you to hear

" they win!" The announcer yelled to your opposing team. The crowd roared with all their might, much to your annoyance

You wince on the ground, sitting upwards as your teammates kneeled to you in a hurry

" hey are you okay?" Mikasa was visibly concerned, touching your knee as it slowly began to bleed out

" I'm fine. Just strained myself." You try not to make a pained face, trying to stand up properly without support

" let's help her" Annie placed your hand over her neck and Mikasa understood the order, whilst walking out the hall, you felt extreme disappointment as the crowds cheered behind you

Maybe if you weren't distracted you would've won. If only.

" injury?" A nurse on standby noted down the condition of your leg as you were guided to her

" yeah, I strained my leg " your lips curled into a smile. The nurse gave a look of sympathy, her hands drifting across the paper

" please wait in the room over there" the nurse pointed, you give a smile, strong enough to walk on your own

" sorry guys, excuse me" you look at Annie and Mikasa, giving a wave before limping to the room

Annie and Mikasa both gave each other a glance of concern, wondering if you would be okay as you limped over to the nurses room

You arrive at last, making your way to the bed. You feed your boredom by whistling while you looked around the makeshift area

" [y/n]." you hear a sudden voice at the door. You avert your gaze, seeing Levi awkwardly stand there in the doorway

" what are you doing here?" You chuckled upon seeing the stoic man in all his glory arrive to your aid

" I saw the whole thing" Levi talked about the competition, making his way in the room

" really? It was bad wasn't it" you sigh harshly, feeling nothing more but embarrassment

" it ....was okay to say the least" Levi noticed your leg, trying not to aggravate the mood that was already spoiled

" I totally messed it up!" You yell your frustrations, covering your face in your hands

" you did okay" Levi softly murmured, kneeling down to observe your leg

" what happened here" Levi pointed at your leg. You hopelessly sigh

" I strained it, i fell down in front of a crowd....it was so embarrassing" you stress out

You hear a light chuckle from beneath you. To your amusement, you try to peak downwards to see if Levi was smiling but when you saw his expression, it was a poker face

" I think I will need new shoes though...this one is pretty worn out, maybe that's why I fell" you stare at your broken shoes, seeing the peeling colours

Levi gave no response, getting a box from behind his back. It was only now that you had noticed the black box behind him

" what's this?" You quizzed, fingers pointing to the box

" it's a coincidence" Levi opened the black box in front of you

You stare down at it, the box revealing sport shoes that seemed to be your size

" is that...for me?" You couldn't believe your eyes, that Levi had shoes just randomly

" yeah." Levi looked away, your hands picking up the shoe

" how did you know this was my size?" You were in awe upon seeing your shoe size in the shoe

" I...guessed."

" we are here" Levi parked the car, glancing over to your side

You seemed quiet the whole ride and now he knew why. You were sleeping

Levi observed your sleeping figure and smiled to himself. He quickly frowned and looked away, pondering why he let out a cheesy reaction

Quickly glancing back, Levi stared at your shoes. It seemed worn out and he felt sympathy after learning you work and spend money on your sick mother. In short, you never had the luxury of buying things for yourself

Levi used his fingers to determine your shoe size, he did this by angling his fingers until it alined with your shoe.

Levi seemed focused, memorising the proportions before finally deciding to tap your shoulder

" huh?" You stir awake, eyes landing back on Levi,
" we are here"

" I...I can't take this" you give Levi back the box, averting his gaze

" please...take it" Levi used his words sincerely, pushing the gift back to you

You stare back at him, feeling guilt. " thank you!" You jump and land on Levi, feeling happy.

" er..it's alright" Levi looked away, feeling his cheeks heat up

" you don't know what this means to me" you sigh, wiping your tears. Admiring the shoes you had in your lap

" don't worry...you deserve it" Levi mumbled the last part. You were amazed by the man's sincerity and kindness towards you, in public he seemed cold and harsh but behind closed doors, it was as if he actually cared for you

" uh anyways, I have to go before the nurse gets here" Levi coughed, standing up immediately

" are you going?" You seemed confused, not wanting him to leave you alone

" yes." Levi dusted his clothes before looking back at you, hands on the door handle

" do you want to hang out?" You blurted out to stop the man

Levi turned back around. " my time is precious you know" he commented grimly

" oh okay, it's fine" you smile, hiding your disappointment

Levi frowned. It wasn't the response he wanted from you. " ...but I could spare a few minutes" Levi nodded, before opening the door

" I'll text you!" You yell so he could hear

" rest first" Levi calls, closing the door

Your lips curled into a smile as your eyes drifted to the shoe box in your hands

" is your leg okay?" You saw Levi awaiting you, his back leaning on the wall

" yeah, it hurts just a little" you wince, dragging your leg to Levi

" what did the nurse say?" Levi was merely curious, hoping everything was just a strain

" oh it's nothing, don't worry...shall we go?" You awkwardly exchange, pointing in the direction in front of you 

" okay" Levi agreed, glancing down at your shoes, he noticed you were wearing the shoes he had bought you, and that brought a light smile to his face

" where do you want to go?" You continue to walk with Levi, the silence being deafening to you

" let's see...you said you wanted to try a restaurant near here?" Levi looked around for any eye catching signs

" I did?" You reply, having no recollection of telling him

" you did" Levi nodded. You stare downwards, it must of been a long time ago

" well maybe it's that place?" You point, pretending to be oblivious

Levi takes a deep breath and stares back at you, " sure" Levi nods

You observe his reaction, usually he would be dismissive and insult your taste but somehow he has gotten use to you

" oh my god I'm so full" you cup your stomach, being full was an understatement, walking around the restaurant

" it was...good" Levi whispered, not having the courage to tell you how delicious it was

" well, in that case, we can try a another place next time! " you smile widely, taking Levi's hand

Levi only complies, admiring your bright smiles

" the fresh air!" You admire, staring back at Levi, " you know I've always admired the night sky...it's calming" you rejoice, finding a fence to lean on

Levi was hesitant, leaning on the fence next to you as the view was the dark ocean and city lights

" do you like the view" you admire, Levi showing no reaction as he glances at you

" it's pretty" he murmurs, not referring to the view at all, " yes" you weren't paying attention, enjoying the moment

" anyway...if you don't mind me asking. Why did you call me here?" You realise, eyes returning back to Levi's

Levi took a deep breath at the mention. He had totally forgot his mission

" what are we?" Levi murmurs, quiet enough to bypass your ears

" what?" You murmur back, making sure what you heard was your imagination

" what are we?" Levi says more loudly then before, confirming your suspicions

You gulped. You didn't even know yourself, it didn't help he was staring into your soul

" I take that back. What am I to you?" Levi stare your frozen figure, the tension in atmosphere rising the more you stood

" Levi...you are" you manage to say firstly, trying to think of the next word. The next word that would affect your relationship forever

Levi took your silence as rejection, turning away from you, " maybe we should go-"

" wait- as cheesy as it is...to me, you are the reason I look forward to waking up and going to school. And I think... I want to be with you" you halt Levi with your speech, taking his hand in yours

You observed his expression, preparing for rejection or acceptance

There was silence until you heard a chuckle. Your eyes were wide as you realised the chuckle came from Levi

" really..? I've been waiting for you to say that" Levi smiled. For the first time, he actually showed a smile to you.

" are you joking or is this real?" You thought everything was a dream. Was this stoic man really smiling to you?

" no it isn't. I...like you too" Levi mumbled, his cheeks flushing red, as his fingers slightly touch yours. You notice this and laugh after feeling relief wash over you, jumping into a embrace with Levi

" I wanted to hear that too"
