" one, two, three"

Was what you recited under your breath, closing your eyes slowly while stretching

" what are you doing [y/n]?"  The words ringing out to you, causing you to avert your actions immediately

" nothing. Nothing at all" you dismissed, dusting off your uniform, it was Armin

" were those ballet stretches?" Armin walks up to you, books in his hands

" how...how do you know ?" You asked confused, puzzled even

" well those stances look familiar, I saw it in a book that I found in a fallen house before, I must say your stance is very...professional" Armin explained

You chuckled lightly, staring at the ground, " I use to be a ballet dancer" you say softly

"What?" Armin replied, your sentence to soft to hear

" before this hell, I was a ballet dancer, I loved dancing" you reminisced, the old memories hitting you in a instinct

" really? That's amazing! No wonder your flexibility gets you around everywhere!" Armin rejoiced, shocked but excited are the same time  

" yeah...it does" you smiled, it quickly turning into a frown

" why the long face...?" Armin catches on

" we have a expedition in a few days, I'm scared for it...how are you always so bright Armin?" You questioned, longing for a good answer

" hah, well... truth is, I'm terrified...but the one thing that drives my ambition is the thought of seeing outside the walls...maybe all you need to do is fight for your dreams" Armin explained, in the most beautiful way possible

" your right...I think everyone needs that advice to cheer up" you reply

" although I don't think my advice would work...maybe a performance would help lift their spirits?" Armin slyly suggested, with a grin on his face

You caught on, " you want be to make a performance...do you?" You chuckled

" well , yeah! I want to see your abilities as a former ballet dancer, I think you would be great!" Armin held your hands together in the moment

" I'll consider" was all you could reply

As much as you missed an audience, it was rather scary to perform again

" if you do I'll organise it, I think it would be great profit for the expedition" Armin smiled, meaning he didn't want the performance to be limited to soldiers

You nodded and he replied, " anyways I have to get going, training is soon, you coming?" Armin gestured, his hands waving for you to come

" I will soon, i just need time to think" You manage to say

" oh okay don't be late! You know Levi would hate that" Armin said, spine shivering at the thought

You nodded, just a few more minutes right??

You were wrong, so wrong

You were late, so late for training, your mind slipped and you danced for more than you anticipated

" I'm sorry! Captain " was all you said bowing when you reached trained grounds

" looks like you will have to stay overtime" Levi said in a firm tone

You gulped silently and obeyed, quickly sitting next to Armin as Levi rambled on

" Armin I wanna do the ballet show" you whispered, finally ready

" okay! I'll organise it and it will be tomorrow, sound good?" Armin whispered back quietly

You nod and pay your attention back to the captain

" put your back into it" Levi lectured as you had to do push ups

You were trying to save energy for the show tonight, so that meant being the worse right now

" what happened? You use to do so much..?" Levi says a bit frustrated

" I'm sorry I'm just...soo tired" you huff, adjusting yourself to sit

" you know the expedition is the day after tomorrow?"

" precisely, meaning I'll try my hardest tomorrow, I'm sorry but I just have somewhere I have to be tonight"
You tried to explain

" oh? What would that be, enlighten me" Levi rose a brow at your bold actions

" it's. not of your concern" you mumbled quietly to which Levi sighs 

" it's getting late and I have somewhere to go as well, training dismissed" Levi said helping you up

" okay" was all you said, " good work" was all you heard

You stare at Levi, did you hear that correctly? This man saying good work? You must be dreaming

" thank...you? That means a lot" you said breathless before Levi walked away, not even responding to your words

you frown at the lack of response but either way you sprint to get your clothes for the nights show, apparently Armin somehow organised the show where rich nobles and special guests, ( soldiers) would be invited, this made you a bit nervous but you spent all the recent nights perfecting the performance with the chosen song

" I can't believe you invited me to this place" Levi said, his stance being his arms crossed

" oh come on, Levi! Live a little, this is the only time you get to wear overly fancy stuff" Hanji gestured

" good riddance" Levi mumbled at the comment

" also, I think they have meat as the food in there, it being a special occasion of course" Hanji grew in excitement

" I wonder who organised this when we have a expedition soon" Levi explained like it was a burden to attend

" well you know Levi, maybe this will lift everyone's spirits? Don't you have someone you wanna see in a  dress...?" Hanji said teasingly

Levi death stared her and without  a response left her in her spot

The stage was set, everyone was scattering to their assigned seats while Levi calmly sat down

The lights dimmed as the announcer, Armin explained everything, Levi was shocked at seeing the man but nevertheless, he couldn't hide the excitement of watching the 'surprise' performance

After Armin left, the giant red curations opened, revealing, you

Levi was shocked, mouth gaped opened as well as everyone that was a solider

" they can dance???" Hanji exclaimed, nearly out of her seat

Levi didn't respond, he was astonished and silent as you elegantly danced on the stage, the lights playing tag with you

He had ever seen this side of you before and it was only then that the realisation that he loved you resurfaced

You were beautiful, the way the music danced with you, the way you never fell or made a mistake, it was perfect, like you, where did these skills come from? Levi thought, his mind in wonder

Everyone cheered as you continued to dance and when the dance came to the end, the crowd roared in excitement, this dance really did lift everyone spirits

You bowed, breathing heavily after the intense dance and after waving goodbye you cheered and celebrated the success with Armin

On the other hand, Hanji's nonstop teasing continues to Levi, it was hard for him not to sustain her

But either way after some convincing from Hanji, Levi had no choice but to run after you, Hanji knew Levi fell in love with you and the first hint was the tint of stars in his eyes watching you.

" [y/n]..." Levi softly spoke out to you on the balcony where you were catching your breath

" oh hi captain!!" You waved with a bright smile

Something in Levi's chest fluttered at your smile, it was always your smile

" I didn't know you could dance..." Levi awkwardly said

" I danced before the walls fell apart and then I joined the survey corps" You explained

" that would explain why you are flexible...and how you are my favourite cadet" Levi confessed without realising

Your eyes widen slightly, " what...?" You softly replied, you were surprised, really, was this the real Levi

" [y/n], watching you perform...I think I fell in love with you" Levi confessed, averting your gaze in fear of rejection as he walked closer to you

" oh Levi...I love you too" you rejoiced, smiling and hugging him as he came in reach

" just stay safe alright? I don't wanna lose you on this expedition" Levi hugged you tighter

" alive or dead we will always be reunited "
