The sun's rays started to peek over the horizon, and Kibutsuji became more panicky by the second. He made one final attempt to escape, blasting everyone away.
I shot into a building, vomiting blood from the impact. I fought to stay awake, losing the grip on the hilt of my sword. A crash was heard right next to me, and I whipped my head over to see the mist pillar.
"Ah!! Muichiro!!" I mustered up all the strength to pull myself towards him.
Weak coughs left his lips, blood staining his chin "Are.. are you.. at least okay..?"
He started to wheeze, not being able to take another breath. Soft tears left my eyes seeing him in this state. I tightly held onto his hand, frantically looking around for kakushi to come and aid him.
"FIRST AID!!! PLEASE!!" I shouted out to the Kakushi
They heard my plea, and two of them ran toward us. Taking away Muichiro and me, I tried to get out of their grasp to follow him, but I was too exhausted.
They laid me down, starting to rewrap my wounds. There were yelling something about not closing my eyes but.. I couldn't help it.
"Y/n?" I heard a voice call out. It was cherry blossom season, my favorite time.
The petals danced around me, I twirled around with them, laughing as I remembered how my parents used to dance with me as well. That voice called out to me once again.
I slowly turned my head, being met with two figures, "Mother..? ..Father?" They were standing right there.
"Come, my daughter." She reached out,
I bolted towards them, crashing into their arms. My father stroked my hair, wiping away the tears that were falling down my cheeks.
"It's not your time, dear. You have your whole life ahead of you.." My father's eyes only swirled with love
"But I want to go with you.." I held onto them tighter
"That boy, he'll be waiting for you." My mother gently let me go, "You're going to do just fine with him."
The pile of Sakura petals beneath me disappeared; it felt like I was falling into nothingness. As I opened my eyes once more, my eyes were met with a beautiful blue sky. I adjusted to the sudden light.
"SHE'S AWAKE! SHE'S GAINED CONSCIOUSNESS!" a kakushi yelled out
"L/n!! you're okay!" Kokoro and Haru were at my side, and their cheeks were tear-stained.
"Mui.." I tried to speak, but my dry throat didn't allow me to.
"If you are talking about the mist pillar, he's okay," Haru eased my worries,
"Thank.. god.." I muttered.
I couldn't feel much, but my muscles were aching. A bunch of muffled shouting was surrounding me, I was lifted up onto a stretcher and taken farther away to who knows where.
Had we not.. defeated Kibutsuji? Was that demon king still alive..? Even after all our effort, after all the lives we've given, he just won't give it up.
The exhaustion hugged my body, and I was in need of sleep, so I let my eyelids give up. I felt so lonely in the darkness; not even a dream had blessed me.
A sweet sound rang in my ears, an all too familiar one. I fought to open my eyes once more. I wanted to escape whatever this was, and I wanted to be with.. with him.
"Y/n... ake.. p.."
"../n.. plea.. wak.. u.."
I could hear his voice getting louder, and a light shone through the darkness. I didn't think twice about running towards it; maybe this would let me out, let me escape.
"Mui..chiro..?" I whispered
"Are you awake?!" He suddenly shouted
My body felt like crumbling at this point, "I think.. so..??"
"AOII!! KIYOO! NAHOO! SUMIII!!!" He ran to the door, "Y/N'S AWAKE!!"
The four girls rushed in, and Aoi began checking my vitals. The trio of butterfly girls started to weep, gifting me tons of rice crackers and caramel candy.
"Y/n, could you try sitting up?" Aoi asked me while tears escaped her eyes
"Uh.. ye.. yeah.." I pestered all the strength I could to sit up.
"You've been asleep for about three months now.." Tears started to fall from her cheeks
"Is.. that right..?" I turned my gaze to Muichiro
"I'm glad you're awake. I was worried." He spoke gently, grabbing my hand.
"Are.. you okay?" I asked him
"Yeah, just a lot of scars." He smiled
The four girls had left the room. Apparently, Yushiro had fiddled with some medicine, and my arm that was lost began to regrow as I was sleeping. Muichiro had said once all the remaining hashira were awake and able to walk, there would be a final hashira meeting. It had been a week, and I could finally stand alone.
"Thank you for coming. This is the final hashira meeting." The young master spoke,
"Giyuu, Sanemi, Y/n, Muichiro. You are the only surviving hashira, many corps members have died, but we have eradicated the demons. Thus, the demon slayer corps disbands today."
"Understood." We all spoke together.
They began to bow, the master and his young sisters.
"Please raise your head!"
"We don't need any thanks!"
"Don't bow, please!"
"Kiriya, you were amazing at guiding us all through the war. Your father and your ancestors must be very proud." I spoke with a smile
All of them started to cry, and I had the biggest smile on my face. Muichiro held me close as we both sobbed tears of joy. Finally, the demons were banished from this world. I'm so glad!!
"Tanjiro!! Inosuke!! Zenitsu!! AHHH IT'S NEZUKO TOO!!" I called out while waving to the group
Muichiro and I had decided to visit them before they went off to their home, Inosuke and Zenitsu went to live with them as well since, they have no family.
"Y/n!! Muichiro!!" Tanjiro called out with his bright signature smile
Nezuko ran up to me, giving me a huge hug, "You're human! I'm so happy for youuu!!"
"I heard you are going home tomorrow, we wish you a safe journey," Muichiro smiled
"Thanks! You should visit sometime. I would be happy to see you!" Tanjiro's smile just got brighter.
"Of course!"
Two years passed, and Muichiro and I were now sixteen. He grew out his hair quite a bit, and I would help him put it in a ponytail every morning since it was hard to deal with.
I had cut mine since it was chopped off during the final battle and didn't look good. We moved to my estate together, Ginko and Hoshi mostly stayed with us, but we got maybe too many cats.
I would wear Kyojuro's haori often, as it matched with my kimono, but it also felt like he was still with me, no doubt I missed Kanroji as well but we would see each other again, I'm sure of it.
It was cherry blossom season again, and we were underneath the Sakura tree in the middle of our garden. I was feeding the koi fish, smiling as the former mist pillar took the bag of fish food away from me.
"It's so peaceful now, I love it." I muttered while staring at the beautiful kaneshon that Muichiro gifted me, along with the stone being right next to it
He smiled at me, "I love you,"
Muichiro had planned something he wasn't telling me about, which made me nervous. I started to collect the falling petals, admiring how the wind blew them away.
"Y/n.." Muichiro suddely grabbed my hands, making the petals fall out.
"Yes, Muichiro? Is something wrong?" I questioned while furrowing my brows,
"No, everything is perfect. I just want one thing to change.." He started to get down on one knee, keeping my left hand in his own palm
"Muichiro.." I covered my mouth at the ring he was holding.
"I promised that I would love you for the rest of my life; I never want you to leave my side. Y/n L/n, will you be my bride?" He spoke nervously, a pink dusting his cheeks as we waited for my response
"..Yes! YES! A MILLION TIMES, YES!" I hugged him, making us topple over into the pile of sakura petals.
"Let me put the ring on, at least!" He laughed, grabbing my left hand and sliding the ring onto my ring finger.
I kissed him, holding him close to me. I couldn't be happier. Everything turned out great, and well as the years went by..
"Yoshiki, please hold onto your brother's hand. And Mizuki, stop running off!" I shouted to the two young boys who started running off into the festival
Muichiro only slipped a laugh, "Let them, they're having fun darling." He left a kiss on my forehead,
"Won't be fun when your son skins his knee," I scoffed
Yoshiki and Mizuki were twins, our sons, both of them having way too much energy. We all loved the festivals, especially the part when we get to take goldfish home. But they end up dying within a month because of someone forgetting to feed them.
Muichiro usually had to help out Mizuki as he couldn't get a small fish in his net, Yoshiki only making fun of him. I smiled at the sight of the twins blabbering before they ran back to us.
"Yoshiki won't stop bullying me!!"
"It's not bullying if it's true dumbo!"
A sigh escaped my lips, "Yoshiki at least be a little nice, you're older, now let's go get some uiro!"
Smiles spread across both the twins faces before they ran off to the rice cake stand, Muichiro taking my hand in his before we both followed them.
I hope the pillars aren't lonely up there, maybe they've already been reborn, I hope they can live good lives. I'm happy Yoshiki and Mizuki get to live without the fear of demons. I would see all my friends in another life,
Promise.

And they lived happily ever after, is this better than them both dying because I THINK NOT! I liked my sad ending more than this
both Muichiro and Y/n are under twenty five, so THEY NOT DEAD YET OK.
