"Who is this father?"

The young girl asked curiously with her head tilted to the side a bit as she stared at the girl her father just brought in although her brothers didn't look as curious as her and more upset

It only turned worse when their father explained that her name was Penelope and how she would be living here from now on..

You looked at your brother reynold as he suddenly glared at the girl with disdain and hatred

"Why would you bring some nasty commoner in our house? And right after Yvonne went missing too! She's just a dumb replacement isn't she?!"

You watched as derrick stopped reynold from going any further but he also didn't look too happy..when you looked at the girl you noticed how she looked nervous and was fumbling with her dress you couldn't help but feel bad for her

Penelope was just staring silently at the ground it doesn't matter as long as she has food and is able to take a bath this is fine..

The girl herself looked young but you can tell she's probably older than you, ever since Yvonne went missing the house was quiet and you had nobody to have sister hangouts with..maybe that can change now. You smiled slightly at the thought

Penelope was escorted to her room and reynold and derrick both went different ways. You were currently outside her door nervously you wanted to talk to her but you really had no idea how..you never really interacted with many people other than your brothers, father, or some other kids..

You shakes your head a few times, no way! You have to make a good impression so you guys become close..you then knock on the door and shyly say

"Uhm excuse me..can I come in?.."

You wanted to introduce yourself to her face not behind the doors so you wait there until she finally opened the door your face brightened since you thought she rejected you
When she opens the door and lets you in.

You walk into the room and notice she looks confused but also a bit nervous but you really can't help but admire how adorable she is and she's really pretty too..you snapped out of your daze not wanting to freak her out as you suddenly smile brightly

"Hello! It's nice to meet you, you're Penelope right? I'm [name]!!"

You tried not to sound excited but you really wanted to get along with her

She stood there silently a bit startled but with her hands still fumbling with her dress she nervously says

"It's nice to meet you too.."

You didn't mind the awkward reply. You understand how she must feel right now

"My dad adopted you right? I think he said that..so does that mean we're sisters now??"

You said happily at the thought of having another sibling

"Sister how old are you? I thought you were older than me but now I'm not really sure!.."

You say smiling a bit if she was the same age as you that would be great..

She looked a bit surprised you weren't sure why but probably cause you called her sister..wait should you stop then? Did you make her uncomfortable?? You hope not..

She suddenly says
"I'm eleven.."

Your eyes brighten a bit as you excitedly say
"I'm ten!! You're a year older than me sister!"

The only person who was close to age with you was Yvonne..which was why it was easy to talk to her about things..now she's gone.

Of course you would never consider Penelope a replacement for Yvonne you're just really happy to have another sister

Penelope smiled slightly and you noticed it and let out a squeal
"Sister you're so adorable!! Can we please hang out more often??"

You said excitedly at the thought. You tried to stop another squeal from coming out when you saw her getting flustered by your words as she slightly nods accepting what you said

"Sure..we can hang out whenever you want..sister."

You froze.

You couldn't help a huge smile from forming on your lips at being called sister you wrapped your arms around her neck while laughing and talking about some random things

After that day. Yours and Penelope's relationship grew closer.

It was dinner time. Penelope never ate with the rest of your family and just stayed in your room which was upsetting to you but you never begged her not wanting to force her into it. Cause it does seem like Reynold and derrick don't like her that much..which you really hate since you wanted to all hang out together.

Your father and brothers were just talking normally but you pouted boredly wanting to talk to Penelope, until a light switch went off in your head

You looked up at your father since your chair was close to his and your brothers sat on the other side from you as you suddenly ask the duke

"Father! Can I go eat with Penelope in her room??"

All eyes instantly went to you and you couldn't help but be embarrassed since nobody was saying anything..so you said again this time more nervously

"Uhm well..I wanna eat with penelope for a change is that alright?..I'll eat here again tomorrow I just wanna eat with her today!.."

While waiting for your fathers response reynold says with annoyance evident in his tone

"Seriously? That stupid commoner? Why are you becoming so close with a damn commoner!!"

He said with a glare. You never understood why they hated her so much..it's not her fault on what happened to Yvonne.

The duke tells reynold to be quiet and not talk about his sister like that and before he can reply to your request derrick speaks up

"I hate to admit it but I agree with reynold. You shouldn't bother talking with that replacement [name]"

Jeez they were treating you like a child!..which you kinda are but still..you should be allowed to talk to whoever the hell you want to! You just stay silent knowing that arguing with them won't do anything as you ignore them and turn back to your father with a pleading expression

"Father please? I wanna talk with sister!"

You swear you felt your brothers glare at you when you called her sister but your father didn't seem to mind you eating with Penelope and nodded while saying

"I'm glad you both are getting along. I'll have a maid take your food to Penelope's room."

You smile happily as you thank your father and get out of your chair and go to Penelope's room excitedly while a maid follows behind with your food in hand you open the doors to her room to see her sitting there with her knees to her chest with her face on them and you instantly get worried

You go up to her and she was now staring at you after you opened the doors to her room

"Sister? Are you okay?"

She just looked at you silently before nodding and asking

"What are you doing here?"

You smile happily as you sit on your bed and the maid puts your food on the bed with a tray and leaves the room silently

"I asked father to let me eat with you! After all food tastes better when eating with others doesn't it?"

You say tilting your head slightly with a smile before realizing something and looking around her room confused

"Oh. Penelope where's your food? Did you eat it already?"

Her eyes went dark for a second before she looks down and says

"Yeah. I finished already."

You couldn't help but pout childishly at that
"Aw man! I wanted to eat together.."

Until you suddenly had an idea as you move your food towards her

"Are you still hungry? If you are wanna eat some more? We can share!"

She looks at the food before looking at you with surprise

"..are you sure?"

You just nod excitedly and both of you eat together it was too much food for you anyways
