It's fair to say you were shocked when Toji assured you that Shiu was no longer a problem. He promised you that Shiu was no longer a threat. That you and Misaki could come back home. You were hesitant. For the first couple of days you refused, yet, he kept insisting. Until you gave in.

Finally, after too much time, you're at the doorstep of your home. It's way too early in the morning, and Toji has no idea that you're back home. It's a surprise for both Megumi and Toji.

Misaki waits right behind you, excitedly. She wonders why it's taking so long for you to open a simple door. It doesn't take this long, usually. When the door finally opens, you step aside so Misaki can enter the place first. You're not sure whether to follow her or grab your suitcases.

Just in case, you leave the suitcases in the car. You enter the home, which is rather... You hold back any negative comments. It's clearly not as clean as you left it, but you can't blame Toji knowing that he's had so much on his plate. You close the door before taking off your shoes.

"Misaki, let's say hi to them. Come with me." You tell your daughter. You extend your hand and she holds it. You both walk upstairs. You walk to your bedroom and open the closed door. You smile at the sight of your husband and son asleep on the bed. You lean down a bit and whisper, "Let's wake them up, okay?"

You walk over to your side of the bed, where Megumi lays, and you caress the top of his head before you kiss his little head. Misaki climbs on the bed, while you fill the toddler's head with kisses. While you wake Megumi up, Misaki pokes Toji's arm.

Megumi's eyes finally open. He opens them slowly, before he makes out the figure before him. That makes his eyes open wide, and he quickly sits up. He smiles brightly before he tries to wrap his arms around your neck, "Mommy!"

"My sweet baby." The happiness radiates from your voice. You hug him back. You don't want to pull away so quickly, because it's been so long since you've hugged him. You take in his scent, and nearly want to cry at the feeling of his tiny arms.

When he pulls away he notices Misaki and calls her nickname to get her attention. She looks at him and hugs him before he can initiate a hug.

"Gumi, how are you?" She asks. She hadn't realized how much she missed her baby brother until now. Megumi doesn't really answer, still not fully awake.

With all the commotion, Toji finally awakens. For a minute he doesn't fully process what's happening. He believes that it's a dream. His wife and daughter are hours away in another town. He doesn't really believe what's happening until you walk to his side of the bed, take a seat, and kiss the temple of his forehead.

"Is this a dream?" He asks, and you're so tempted to hum in response to taunt him. But you end up kissing his cheek. Toji smiles. Toji sits up and kisses your lips. It's all he's been wanting to do for weeks, and so much weight lifts from his shoulders after he does so. He's had somewhat of a guilty conscience after killing a man, but now that you're in front of him, he reminds himself that it's worth it.

"Misaki!" Toji exclaims. He pulls her into a big hug, one that could nearly leave her breathless. She hugs him back. He kisses her forehead before he pulls away and smiles at her, "My princess. How are you?"

"I'm good." She responds. She starts to tell him about your little adventure, and he listens attentively. He's not really processing what she's saying, in disbelief that you're finally home. After turning him down so many times, you two are finally here.

"I'll go get our stuff from the car." You tell them and stand up.

"I wanna help!" Megumi is quick to say, knowing that the last time you walked out of the house, you left for a long time. You chuckle, looking at the toddler's messy hair and his dinosaur pajamas.

"C'mon, baby."

"Daddy, can we play with my dolls?" Misaki looks up at Toji who sits on the couch, watching some stupid movie with you and Megumi. Megumi's choice, of course. Misaki didn't want to watch the movie, saying it was too childish for her.

"Hmm... Yeah." Toji nods. He enjoys playing with his daughter but he's also looking for a way to get out of the movie. He loves his son, and of course he wants to watch a movie with him. One that's suitable for the toddler. But Toji finds himself bored with what plays on the TV. You're here to pay attention to Megumi, plus Toji really should spend some time with Misaki after being apart for so long.

He stands up and the both of them walk away. It's no fun playing downstairs because all of Misaki's doll stuff is upstairs in her bedroom. You're left alone to watch the movie with Megumi, and unlike your husband, you find yourself a bit entertained. It's the type of stuff you've grown to like since you've had to watch all these types of movies with Misaki and Megumi.

Toji follows behind his daughter, a couple of questions invading his mind as he watches her walk up the stairs. Guilt... No, it's not guilt. Although he doesn't necessarily feel too good about what he did. Toji isn't a murdererโ€“ Well, he is. He attempted to kill you, and he successfully killed your ex-boyfriend. But he still doesn't consider himself a murderer. He feels as if he was just serving justice.

He still has this question that bugs the back of his mind. He doesn't know if he should ask the child, in fears that he'll hurt his own feelings. In fear that he'll think for the many years to come of what he did to Misaki's biological father.

They get to the room and Misaki runs to one of the dollhouses that she missed so much. Toji follows, and he takes a seat on the floor. Misaki hands him the dolls that he has to play with.

"Misaki... Do you miss your daddy Shiu?" Toji asks, and Misaki comes to a stop. She blinks slowly, wondering what Toji means. Will Toji get offended if she says yes? She ends up shaking her head, lifting so much weight from his shoulders.

"Why?" She questions and Toji shakes his head, dismissing the question. He won't say anything else. When she's older he might tell her that Shiu loved her a lot, but for the moment he'll bite his tongue. He doesn't want any questions to arise.

"I just wanted to know, honey. For no reason." Toji gives her a weak smile and she puts her doll down. She wraps her arms around his neck and hugs him.

"I love you more than my daddy Shiu." She assures Toji, thinking that he's asking because he's jealous. Toji hugs her back, a smile coming onto his face. Of course her words make him proud.

"You don't have to love one of us more than the other, honey." He responds before he kisses her forehead. Although he is glad to know that he's Misaki's favorite. Misaki pulls away from the hug and picks her dolls back up.

They begin to play, and Toji is able to do so happily. For some reason he feels better about what he did.

After putting the kids to bed, you and Toji finally find yourselves alone for the first time in a long time. You have so much to say to each other. Neither of you knows how to start it off though.

You take a seat on your side of the bed, and Toji wonders what he should do. He awkwardly stands by the door before locking it. He watches you, and you watch him back for around a minute before you pat the empty space next to you. Toji is hesitant before walking over towards you.

You feel the bed dip when he takes a seat beside you. You rest your hands on top of his and just enjoy his presence for another minute. He does the same, although he's terrified of what you'll say next. You've been happy all day, but he's almost a hundred percent sure that you kept that mask for Misaki and Megumi. He also knows that you'll ask him about Shiu, and he doesn't want to lie to you.

He can't help as a tear streams down his face. So many emotions flow through his body, and he can't contain them. You wrap your arms around him and soothe him as he begins to sob. You feel as if you know. He confirms everything when he sobs into your arms. There's also that possibility that he just missed you so much, but you doubt that he sobs because of it.

"I-" He begins to talk through sobs, yet he can't bring himself to say anything else. His crying doesn't let him say another word. Maybe he doesn't regret what he did, but he certainly has a guilty conscience. Every time he sees Misaki, he'll think of Shiu.

"Toji, it's okay." You say, and he looks at you through teary eyes. You have no idea what he's done and you're reassuring him. "I know, Toji. It's okay. Everything will be okay."

He continues crying in your arms. You let him cry it out. It's been a really long time. He's had to stay strong for so long, all by himself. He felt that the only way of finally solving everything was doing what he did.

"No one will know. We'll be okay." You reassure him. "Misaki will forget about him. You did what you had to do to bring us back together."

Toji stands up and walks to the bathroom to wash his face. You stand up a minute later to follow after him. You wrap your arms around him and place a kiss on his shoulder, "I missed you so much, Toji. I was so mad at you but I still found myself wanting to be with you. I cried so much, and I tried not to because I didn't want Misaki to see me cry. I'm usually really good at controlling my emotions around her, but I couldn't."

"I love you so much, honey." Toji tells you when he finally calms down a bit. He turns around and cups your face. He manages to smile, the guilt going away because what he did was worth it. Seeing you and his daughter every day is worth it. He did it for you. "I missed you. You can't even begin to imagine."

"Toji, please don't ever think about that man again." You peck his lips. You can't deny that what Toji did was wrong, but at the same time it was the best and possible option. You have no idea how it went down or when he did it, you just have a gut feeling."We won't bring him up ever again, okay? If Misaki asks about him, we'll lie. Otherwise, we won't ever talk about him. He's a dead man."

"I'm sorry." He responds. You don't say anything because Toji does need to apologize for so many things. You do accept his apology but instead of accepting verbally, you peck his lips. You smile at him when you pull away.

"What do you want to do tonight?" You ask, so many possible activities going through your mind. He has a lot of ideas in mind, yet he's too tired to do the majority of them. He picks you up from the floor, a laugh leaving your lips as he lifts you from the ground and carries you to the bed. He puts you down on the bed, and lies down next to you.

He pecks your lips over and over again. Then he smothers your face with kisses. You laugh, and he can't help but smile as he hears your laugh. It fills him up with so much joy. He missed hearing it so much. But thankfully you're back here with him again.

"We have so many things to do." Toji says when he comes to a stop. You hum in agreement. "First we'll start with our little wedding, then we'llโ€“"

"Let's just enjoy the moment, Toji. We can talk about the future later." You cut him off. For a moment you're silent, the two of you just staring at each other until you say, "I love you."

"I love you too."
