The Family Curse'

NOT LONG AFTER NOREN had hesitantly introduced himself to the enhanced vampire, Jax cut into their small interaction to get to Marcel. Just before speaking, he cleared his voice before trying his best to spit out his words.
"Can I uh- can I speak to you.. in private, Marcel."
Marcel diverted his vision to the vampire who was towering over him as he was kneeling to speak to the boy, before nodding his head with an emotionless expression plastered on his face. Standing up he whispered to Josh, telling him to show Noren around while he and Jax spoke.
Making his way over, Marcel swung his arm over Jax's shoulder leading the way to a private area in the compound.
The vampire hesitantly followed while giving small glimpses behind him to Noren reassuring his safety who watched as the only person he knew in this city being dragged off somewhere while he was being left behind with some prude.
Rolling his eyes, before Josh could muster up a sentence the boy was already pushing past him to wander off somewhere.
"Hey!" Josh exclaimed. To say Josh's hands were full within their time spent was a pleasant way to word it.

Shutting the door behind them, Marcel sat down while releasing a puff of air. He could sense the nerves of the vampire who stood awkwardly just patting his hands on his legs like a toddler.
Marcel cleared his workspace before motioning the seat in front of him for Jax to sit.
"So what is it that was so urgent that you needed to rough up one of my guys?" Marcel started in an almost passive aggressive tone.
Jax cleared his throat for what felt like the hundredth time today, he was certain by the end of the night his throat was going to be scarred greatly.
His mouth felt dry but he went for it anyway while clicking his tongue the roof of his mouth.
"This uh, this is going to sound crazy. But please, Marcel I just need you to bare with me." His eyes were widened and as he continued to fumble over the words from left and right.
Marcel had never seen him like this, he'd known him for just over twenty years and just that alone enticed him even more as to what the vampire had to say.
Jax was never the type to display any sort of emotion, he was fine being seen as this cold hearted dick. He could care less about what people had to think about him. He liked the mystery, no one knowing who he truly was, his weaknesses, and what dwelled under his hard exterior.
Marcel's head bobbed in a motion that displayed his moment of realization that this might be serious before giving Jax a look to continue.
"W-when I went to go visit my witch, some stuff happened that i wasn't expecting. She told me to come meet her and how she had something that coul-"
Marcel was quick to cut him off growing vividly annoyed from all the build up. Without realizing he had snapped banging his fists on the table before telling at the Jax to get to the point.
"Goodness, Jax! I love you man, like a brother. but if you don't mind speeding this up, I have other things to do." Marcel gestured with his hands before seating himself back onto his chair.
Jax understood quickly, steadying his breathing before he carried on.
"That boy, the one you met. He is a twin to the to that tribrid, Klaus' kid." He said confidently using his hands to express.
He wanted to say more but quickly halted as soon as he saw Marcel's expression drop. But before Jax realized, Marcel was laughing.
"You mean to tell me that, that kid out there, is the son of that monster? That's impossible. " Marcel could have sworn he was in a daydream, because those words sounded downright insane.
There is honestly no other way to describe it.
Jax was afraid to continue but he knew that not speaking further wasn't an option, given the look Marcel had currently settled on his face.
"Y-yes. look, I know, it's crazy but my witch she explained everything to me and I can to-"
He was once again cut off abruptly, but this time he found himself pinned against a wall by his throat. The more Jax spoke of that outrageous claim Marcel became beyond aggravated and couldn't bare hearing anymore.
"No, Please Marcel!" His screams echoed throughout the building, almost enough for Noren to hear.
As Marcel held him down, he didn't hesitate plunging his hand into the vampires chest.
Jax's heart beat almost at the pace of a Mercedes horse in Marcel's hand and his eyes pierced into his once good friends eyes whimpering like a puppy.
"Please, Marcel don't do this. Trust me." He pleaded but Marcels grip became tighter around his heart and the pain refused to go away, until it did.
The pain and Marcel's hand disappeared suddenly around the mans heart causing him to open his eyes which he had previously shut in a moment where he'd excepted his fate.
"M-Marcel." His eyes widened to see Marcel standing by the desk licking the same hand that was not even a minute ago wrapped around his friends heart.
"Couldn't bite you, unless I wanted to kill you and... you wouldn't be exactly useful dead rather then alive." Marcel uttered beneath his breath while letting out a subtle laugh.
His face scrunched at the taste of his friends blood, vervain.
"What was the point of that?" Jax breathed out as his hand clenched the fabric that was now torn from Marcels hand and his body was still frantically shaking while his eyes drowned in redness.
Marcel glared up at him with a soft and pitiful facial expression before speaking.
"Well unfortunately for you my good friend, you didn't pass my little test otherwise, this would have been a whole lot easier for the both of us."
Jax stood there absorbing his words the best he could, but within those few short seconds given clearly weren't enough because before he could even process, his neck was being snapped.
Marcel stood over his friends body thinking about everything, and what the temporarily dead vampire on the ground didn't know was Marcel was going to kill him. But the minute the enhanced vampire looked into the eyes of his long time friend and his desperate cries for help, he gave Jax something that he rarely ever gives anyone.
A second chance.

Downstairs Noren was sat down with Josh as he read a magazine. And Noren who was swinging his feet back and forth in boredom while counting the pillars inside the compound groaned in annoyance.
"Hey Prude, when do you think Jax will be done because in case you cant tell, I'm hungry!"
Noren threw his head back in exasperation as the vampires ears were once again consumed with yet another complaint escaping the little boys mouth.
Just as he was about to reply, Marcel came walking towards them causing the little boy to practically leap out his seat in search of his friend who was nowhere in sight.
"Where is he, I'm so bored and hungry." Noren seethed while shooting a glare back at Josh as he looked around in frantic for Jax. Marcel grabbed the boy's shoulders as a way to relax him before speaking.
"Calm down, he's safe and a little busy at the moment doing something for me. I'm gonna look after you for a while until he's back, how's that sound?"
Marcel didn't believe what Jax had said until he got his own form of proof and answers to back up such an immense claim. But until then, he felt obligated to look after the boy considering his only caretaker was currently strung up being drained of vervain in his basement.
After a few seconds, Noren raised his brows at the vampires words before slowly nodding to the lingering question.
"Yeah thats fine. But I'm still hungry." Was all Noren said, waiting for a response, Marcel was snapped out of his haze.
"Of course you are, Josh is one of my best guys here, he'll get you whatever you want. Till then I have some work to tend to, I'll see you around, Noren." Was all Marcel said before walking away in an abrupt manner.
Josh was left there blinking away his shock at his new found responsibility.
"Well I guess it's just me and yo-"
He already lost the kid.
"Marcel is going to kill me." Was all Josh muttered to himself as he cursed beneath his breath before walking off to find Noren.
The boy couldn't help but stifle a laugh as he stood right beside the oblivious vampire in a little spell he learnt from one of the grimoires at his old family library.
He called the spell, "invisibility cloak."
As Marcel walked away, he didn't realize it but his mind was subconsciously trying to pin point similarities between the boy and his so called biological family.
He couldn't deny the small little things that screamed alikeness in which he picked up on after the short lasted minutes he spent talking with the kid, but he did in fact deny it.
It was one hundred precent a coincidence, his brain told him, it can't possibly be anything else.
Though, as Noren assured to keep the spell casted over him, he made his way around the compound in secret to search for the vampire he had arrived with.
He knew something was up with what Marcel had told him, just like he knew Gloria was lying at the lake.
Except that time was different, when he had hugged her a flash of an overwhelming sense of un genuineness and evil tingled throughout his body.
But as for Marcel, he just knew. Call it a gift but in reality, Marcel was a terrible liar.
Jax wouldn't leave him just like that.
Or so he hoped. Call it giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Noren walked around the compound cloaked, and when he came across a door that was heavily guarded with vampires, he couldn't help but become curious.
If Jax was being kept somewhere, it would most likely be wherever that door leads to, he thought to himself.
The vampires began picking up on the rather strange smell that paraded their nose even though there was nothing out of the ordinary in sight.
"Do you smell that?" One of the bloodsuckers spoke to the other while the other silently nodded before using their enhanced hearing to listen to any nearby traffic around the compound.
Norens face dropped the minute he realized what the vampire was doing, so he did something that was not thought over in any way. Complete impulse took over his nerves but it happened. The brain gushing sound of necks being snapped absorbed his tiny ears like a sponge resulting in him cringing in his shoes.
"Gross." He muttered, trying his best to remind himself that they are still alive but dead temporarily.
Hopping over their limp bodies, he pushed open the door that was led to an underground cellar.
It was dark and airy, and the vines that cascaded the walls reminded him of his old home.
Making his way down the stairs, his hands traced the walls before coming to sudden halt as he saw yet another door.
"Jax." He breathed aloud.
He didn't waste another second running towards the door before being stopped by the locks that were firmly placed upon the hinges.
But that didnt stop him.
Raising his hand, his face scrunched up as he focused his mind on the locks before suddenly the sound of bone-jittering metal clanging together was heard from the door.
He did it.
To say he felt proud of himself was an understatement, a wide smile was plastered on his face but as he was about to open the door, he decided to take a peak through the hole that was made from the now broken locks to see who might actually be resided in within these dark walls.
And it definitely was not Jax.
It was a man with dirty blonde hair who looked like he'd been it through hell, but definitely not back. In fact it looks like he was still there.
His tight blond curls hung lightly around his face and the chains thats coursed itself around his neck looked like it weighed tons. And his body, it was so weak and fragile, and his limbs were just there, it had no life. Just like the dead vampires he left limp on top of the stairs.
An overwhelming feeling of grief and sadness spread through him as he saw this unnamed man lay basically lifeless in front of him.
As crazy as it sounded, Noren wanted to give the poor homeless guy a hug.
He looked dehydrated, hungry and definitely unhinged. Just like the door he broke only a few minutes ago, pun indented. He wanted to help him for some odd reason.
Noren felt his legs taking small strides towards the stiff looking man before a familiar voice caught the attention of his ears along with heavy footsteps making their way toward him.
"Look I'm sorry Marcel, I don't know where he could have gone. But if you don't mind me asking, why is he such a big deal?" Josh asked, the voice echoed through the vent above him. The young vampire didn't mean for it to sound in any way disrespectful, he was just genuinely curious and oddly worried.
As Noren picked up on who it was coming right toward him, he panicked before running out of the cellar while shutting it as quietly as he possibly could.
"The locks, the locks. No!" He cried aloud, but quietly to himself.
He scrambled on his hands and knees trying his best to locate the piece that from the door. Luckily, he found it and didn't waste another precious second before pushing it into the hole.
It didn't fix the door locks at all but he convinced himself that it definitely didn't look like anyone just broke the lock with their magic.
The voices had gotten closer and Noren knew they were at the top of the stairs the minute they're words came to complete hault probably seeing the dead vampires left at their wake.
"Dammit." A voice yelled, it was Marcels he just knew it.
Noren used his magic to cloak himself along with trying to mask his heart beat from the vampires hearing.
The sound of footsteps raddled him as he walked backwards quietly while keeping up the spell as he made his way far from the cellar to a different area of the large basement.
The footsteps became louder and the sudden face of Marcel and Josh made him almost pee himself as they came around the corner.
About to speak, Marcel held his finger up towards his mouth to stop Josh so he could hear for anyone that lingered in the basement.
"I think we're good, if he was here he's gone now, but it doesn't explain the vampires upstairs." Was all he said in a quiet voice before turning towards Josh while disregarding the dead vampires upstairs.
"Look Josh, I trust you like a brother. Which is why I'm going to tell you something that no one else can know." Marcel said in a hush tone as he placed his hand upon the vampires shoulder.
His eyes widened a bit at Marcels words realizing how serious this must be.
"Oh okay, you're not like pregnant or anything righ-"
Josh tried to joke before Marcel shot him a glare.
The enhanced vampire moved towards the cellar that held the so called homeless guy inside and Norens stomach dropped.
They were definitely going to open the door to realize the lock was broken, the boy thought.
Peering in to see the man who raised him like a son, Josh looked with sad and confused eyes almost as Marcel went to speak.
"I still remember the day he took me in, raised me like I was blood.. it's not something you can forget of course." Marcel said quietly, in almost a whisper.
Josh didn't say anything but the feeling of pity drenched his insides.
"But that doesn't matter now. Everything I had he took from me. Everything." He seethed. His words were poisoness and he was filled so much suppressed rage that he didnt know what to do with it.
But thats what you get when your raised by a Mikaelson. It was a broken family name and a curse.
Clearing his throat, Marcel went to speak once again.
"I uh- Jax. He told me something. I keep telling myself that it isn't possible. But until I find my own evidence, I will decide whats real and what isn't." Marcel said. He started off quietly but the more he spoke his tone became more harsh.
Josh was beyond confused and so was the boy who was in the corner still disguised.
"Wha-Marcel what are you talking about right no-"
"That kid. Apparently, he's the long lost son to that monster in there." Marcel said in monotone as he licked his lips before looking at the vampire beside him whose expression was lifeless.
Josh's face dropped at those words. Impossible he thought. That isn't possible. Questions upon questions devoured his thought process.
But Noren, when Noren heard those words he believed he must have heard wrong. Like one hundred precent it was false hearing on his end. His heart skipped a beat and he felt like he hasn't even there.
This wasn't real.
"My father?" He didn't say it aloud of course, but he thought it and it was insane. He never met his father, but the thought of even having one excited him but pained him.
He couldn't describe it.
Emotions upon emotions crowded his insides. But before these feelings could go any further he reminded himself, that it couldn't possible.
He heard wrong.
But what he should be thinking about, is Jax and how painful his death is going to be when Noren gets his hands on him.
Josh was spurring words trying to understand how this was even possible before Marcel told him his plan to drain Jax of vervain and compel him, then get his own proof.
Marcel kept it dhort and sweet but that didnt answer the vampires questions nor did it answer the boy who was still hiding in the corner. Except for the whereabouts of Jax.
Marcel turned to leave the bewildered vampire who was still asking questions, before Josh stopped him.
"Marcel, whatever you need, I'm here. I got you, always." He said it sincerely, Marcel was one his best buddies and something that you find rarely in the supernatural world and Marcel valued his loyalty more then he could express.
"Thank you Josh. I appreciate it." Was all he said before walking upstairs, leaving not just a still very shocked and confused vampire, but a young tribrid as well.
