It was a new week for the new directions and a week since Jesse St.James joined the glee club.Nellie hated his guts.She thought she should've stayed in the preppy school he came from and leave Rachel alone.And Rachel was a huge liar who said she wasn't going to get back together with Jesse.

On the plus side,Kurt and Mercedes joined the Cheerios giving Nellie some new friends.Not that Santana and Brittany were bad,Nellie just thought Kurt and Mercedes were more fun and relatable.Puck and Nellie also made up,and most of the glee club was surprised,since Nellie practically wanted to throw him in front of a moving train a few weeks ago.

Finn was a little mad at first,claiming she betrayed him by talking to the one guy he hated the most.Nellie argued at the end of the day he was still family and at some point she was going to have to forgive.But she would never forget.

So now the glee club was gathered in the choir room as Mr.Shue was giving his final speech.

"Um,all right,I have one final announcement before we all leave.We can't use the auditorium for the next week" Mr.Shue explained."But that's garbage! How are we supposed to practice for regionals without the auditorium?" Finn exclaimed.

"The Cheerios need it to practice in" Every eye darted over to Santana,Brittany and Nellie."Hey,to be fair I had no idea any of this was going down" Nellie threw her hands up in surrender.

"I recommend a sit in" Rachel offered.

"I recommend we torch the place" The Puckerman siblings said at the same time.Matt fist bumped her and so did puck."No.Look,we've all faced adversity before,and we've come out stronger on the other end.I'm going to check out a few off-site locations for us to use,just for the week.I promise I'll find you a new home" Nellie and Kurt linked arms as they walked towards Finn.

"Oh,Finn I wanted your opinion on this.It's a swatch board.I'm redecorating my bedroom.Kind of going for a hunting lodge meets Tom fords place in Bel Air.I was hoping you could help me out with the hunting lodge part.Nel tried,but failed miserably" Nellie hit his shoulder,an offensive look on her face.

"I live in a closet.There's cowboy wallpaper on the walls."Finn dumbly said.But he pointed at one of them."But I guess this ones nice" Nellie zoned out for a little bit and didn't notice that Kurt was trying to get her attention.

"Nel? Are you ok Nel?" Kurt asked.Nellie slowly nodded.

"Sorry,zoned out for a bit there"

At lunch
Mercedes was trying to loose ten pounds,as Kurt reported to her,and Nellie was mad.Mercedes body was fine just the way it is,and it was really rude and wrong if sue to make Mercedes believe her body was bad,because it wasn't.

"Mercedes,your body is fine just the way it is" Nellie assured as she was getting her lunch."This is healthy! Chicken breast and a salad,with dressing on the side!"

"You have a week to loose ten pounds.That's like having to lose one of my butt cheeks.Look at what I'm eating.Peeled celery.And for breakfast I had Splenda.Look Mercedes,now that we're cheerleaders,we're finally part of the in crowd.We have a place at the table.We don't have to beg underneath for scraps of attention"

"So how about you go and get yourself an actual lunch,instead of eating this,which I know damn well you don't want to" Nellie said.Mercedes simply shook her head and walked over to Santana and Brittany.

"Hey,guys can I ask you something? How do you manage to stay so skinny?"

"The Sue Sylvester master cleanse" Santana and explained the ingredients and Nellie rolled her eyes."It's not healthy,'Cedes,I took it once and puked two seconds later." Nellie explained.

"Who cares? You can either fell terrible and look great,or get kicked off the team when that reporter gets here.Of course I care about you puking Nel.That's bad.That's why I tipped off to sue that you shouldn't drink it anymore" Nellie beamed and nodded.

Mercedes dropped her food and walked off,leaving Nellie there shocked.She saw Quinn looking just as upset.She slowly walked over.

"Mercedes is having a eating problem?" Quinn asked.Nel nodded."Santana was really rude for saying that.She should've said that her body was just as fine"

"Why are you talking to me? I thought you hated my guts" Quinn wondered."Nah.I was super immature about the whole situation,and I'm sorry.I take full accountability and promise you I'll try not to bitch about little things.I treated you like hell these past few weeks and I'm so sorry." Quinn hugged her immediately and Nellie took a second but hugged back.

"We need to help Mercedes.Remember when I told you about my eating problem,well I'm scared she's going through the same thing."

"I pray she's not"

Sue Sylvester has her Cheerios lined up outside her office as she checked their weight.Nellie walked inside.

"Step right up Mini Puckerman" Nellie stepped on the scale and looked down."Well Nellie you managed to keep the same weight as you did from the last time.I'm impressed" Nellie gave a small smile and stepped down from the scale,watching as Mercedes was going to step on."Hey,you still got your track suit on" Nellie rolled her eyes.If Mercedes felt comfortable in that outfit,sue should suck it up and call it a day.

"Yep.And I'm ready for my midweek weigh in.I've been eating very well,and walking everywhere,and..." Sue cut her off before she could finish.

"Okay,well,climb aboard" Nellie smiled as Mercedes climbed on."Well,look at that Mercedes,you gained two pounds" Nellies smile faded off.

"How the hell is that possible?" Nellie snapped looking at the scale."Look,I'm going to break it down for you.You have four days to lose the weight,get yourself in a uniform,or you're out" Nellies jaw dropped as she followed Mercedes out.

"What the hell am I supposed to do now Nel? I cant loose all that weight in such little time"

"'Cedes,you don't have to.I'm trying to tell you,your body is fine just the way it is.You're going to get super sick if you keep starving yourself.Now come on,we're going to get you some actual food" Nellie reached to grab her wrist but Mercedes pulled back.

"Didn't you hear what she said? If I don't lose the weight I'm out!"

"It doesn't matter! You're fine the way you are!" Mercedes ignored her and walked off.

Nellie and her mother were arguing yet again.It all started when Nellie told her she was going to take a nap and for no one to bother her when her mother came out yelling and screaming about how Nellie hardly did anything around the house.

"I hardly do anything? I literally cook and clean and that's not doing anything? You know what,I'm sick of you coming at my neck for little things? And so is puck!"

"Then why are you always sleeping,Nellie?"

"I have narcolepsy! I have to sleep,or else it gets worse.But you would know that if you actually paid attention! Instead you're being sad about a man who left us! He didn't care!"

"Don't you dare talk about your father that way!"

"I just d-" Nellie was cut off by a loud slap.She stumbled back and held her now red cheek.She let out a slight gasp and turned to her mom.

"I hate you!" She yelled running to her room,closing the door and making sure to lock it.She let out a few cries and just sat there,crying her eyes out.

Time Skip
"Nel? Nel open the door!" Puck yelled banging on the door.Nellie basically cried herself to sleep and woke up to her older brother banging on the door.She sighed and slowly walked over to the door,revealing a concerned Puck.

"What the hell happened? I've been knocking on the door for the past ten minutes? Are you ok?"

"I'm fine" She muttered."What happened to your face?" He snapped examining her cheek.

"Mom hit me.I'm fine" Pucks eyes widened."What? You're not fine! You can't be fine!"

That's when she lost it.She broke down,clinging onto her brothers shirt for dear life.

"Hey,it's ok,it's fine.I'm right here"

"I deserved it"

"No you didn't! No one deserves to have their parents hit them,especially you"

Puck really proved he was a good brother that day,by sticking with Nellie and making sure she was fine and ok.He fell asleep once Nellie was fully comfortable and asleep.

Nellie was by her locker when Finn walked up to her."Hey Nel-Woah,what happened to your face?" Finn asked.Nellie pulled out her mirror and examined her face.Sure enough there was a bruise growing.

"My mom got mad last night.It's cool.I probably deserved it?" Finn scoffed."Why would you even say that? You don't deserve it,but that bruise does look pretty bad though,do you want an ice pack? I can run to the nurse and get you one"

"Thanks Finn" Finn ran off and Nellie closed her locker,smiling to herself.

At glee club,Finn was a huge blabber mouth and told everyone what happened to Nellie.And they were furious.

"I'm going to go all Lima heights on her sorry ass!" Santana yelled,Brittany was rubbing her shoulders trying to calm her down.Mercedes and Kurt were doing their best to comfort her as their best friends.

Mr.Shue was just angry that someone was hurting one of his students."Do we need to call the police Nellie?" He asked.She shook her head."It was just a one time thing.I'll be fine" He slowly nodded.

Now Mr.Shue was explaining where they were going to practice for regionals.A roller rink.

"A roller rink?" Tina repeated.Mr.Shue nodded."Weren't those outlawed,in like,1981 for being totally lame?" Santana snarked."Come on guys,where's your sense of adventure? The space is great and April is giving it to us for practice in for free."

"Um,the same April that gave Kurt alcohol on school grounds? Real good plan Mr.Shue" Nellie dryly said.

"Mr.Shue if I may?" Kurt asked.He stepped down form his seat."The New Directions is clearly club with a dearth of direction.Rachel and Jesse refuse to accept that all of us would rather die before we allow them to become the next Beyoncé and Jay Z.And Finns mother romance with my father is sending him into a wholly unnecessary tailspin of despair.What we all need right now is to explore the idea of a sense of place how if we find that place within,we will get that happy ending" Nellie reached to whisperer in Finns ear.

"We're definitely going to talk after this" He nodded and squeezed her hand a little.

After the glee club meeting Nellie pulled Finn to the side."I was trying to tell you this morning,but then I saw the bruise and lost my train of thought," Finn explained."My mom is falling in love again.I don't know if I'm ready Nel"

"Finn,listen to me.Burt is a really good guy,I've met him before when I went over to Kurts house.Mrs.Hudson and him are perfect for each other" Nellie said grabbing his shoulders.Finn looked at her for a second before slowly nodding.

"I'm going to dinner with Kurt and his dad tonight.I need backup" Nellie shook her head."Finn,you need to take this next step yourself." Finn sighed.

"You're my best friend."

"I know Hudson River,but I won't be there to interrupt a perfect family opportunity.Love you,I'll call you later"

Mercedes still wasn't eating and it was worrying Nellie to a point where she pointed it out to Artie and Tina."'Cedes,come on eat something." Nellie urged.

"Do you want half of my peppermint patty?" Tina asked."Take it" Nellie demanded to Mercedes."No.I don't put junk in my body."

"Why are you doing this?" Artie wondered."Yeah,you don't have to prove yourself to Sue Sylvester.You're fine,Mercedes.Now take my chips" Nellie held out her chips but Mercedes looked away from her.

"And those shake diets are really unhealthy.Nel told me what they did to her body" Nellie nodded in agreement."They also don't really work.As soon as you go off them,you gain back the weight you lost" Artie explained.

"You know what? I don't wanna hear it! You have no idea how much I'm sacrificing become a cheerio! To look fantastic.To finally fit in at this school"

"You already look fantastic!" Nellie argued.

"We're just trying to look out for you"

"Yeah,we just want you to be healthy"

"Stop getting in my face telling me what I can and can't do! And I'm really hungry,so stop trying to get me to eat you!" Nellie furrowed her brows and turned towards Artie.

"You heard that too?" Tina asked.Mercedes was going to walk off when Nellie followed."Out of the way" She snapped shoving Jesse and Rachel out of the way.

"Mercedes!" Nellie yelled as she hit the ground."Someone help me get her up!" She called out.Quinn helped her and soon they both carried her to the nurses office.They both sat there while the nurse was checking out Mercedes.

"Your blood pressures low.Maybe that's why you fainted.Your mom will be here soon,I'll go get you some ginger ale" Nellie took out a bottle of water and handed it to Mercedes.Quinn also give her a granola bar.

"Mercedes,I told you this would happen.You messed your body up and look what happened" Nellie scolded.Quinn handed her to granola bar.

"Thanks.I'm not hungry" She muttered."Yes you are.You're starving.I know,I've been there.Did allthe other kids start looking like food right before you fainted?"

"Well that explains a lot" Nellie mumbled."Yeah.How'd you know?" Mercedes asked.

"Been there.Eat the granola bar" Mercedes took the granola bar."Why are you being so nice to me? I can't remember the last time you said two words to me that weren't you and suck." Mercedes wondered.

"Cause I was you,scared.Hating myself for eating a cookie.Nel went through the same thing" Mercedes turned towards Nellie."When I first joined the Cheerios,sue told me I had to loose five pounds.I thought my body was fine the way it was.Until I started starving myself,and then puck found me passed out and I stopped doing it." Mercedes eyes widened.

"I'm so sorry Nel" Nellie simply shrugged."It's ok."

"But I got over it" Quinn started."Of course you did.Miss Pretty Blonde with the white girls ass"

"When you start eating for somebody else,so that they can grow and be healthy,your relationship to food changes.What I realized is that if I'm so willing to eat right to take care of this baby,why am I not willing to do it for myself? You are so lucky.You've always been at home in your body.Don't let Ms.Sylvester take that away from you"

"I'm so embarrassed.This isn't me.How did I become this person?"

"You're gorgeous.You know that.We know that.We're going to stay with you until your mom comes,okay?" Mercedes nodded.Nellie felt terrible.She had felt just as bad about her body and it sucked.Your brain telling you to eat this,or your brain telling you to starve and that you're fat.

It was now the day of the pep rally and Mercedes had told Nellie her plan to sing a song to everyone about body positivity.Nellie was all for the idea,and told her she would of course be there to support her.

"Hey guys,I'm Mercedes Jones.So most of you know Cheerios is about perfection and winning,looking hot and being popular.Well,I think it should be about something different.How many of you feel fat?" A few kids raised their hands."How many of you feel you're not worth very much?" Mercedes pointed about more insecurities and kids were raising their hands.

Nellie even raised her hand."Well I felt all those things about myself at one time or another.Hell,I felt most of those things about myself today.And that just ain't right.And we've got something to say about it.And if you like what we have to say,come down here and sing it with us." Nellie smirked as the song started playing.
