It was a new week for glee club and they were gathered in the choir room as Mr.Shue wrote the topic for the week.

"Ballad.From Middle English,balade.Who knows what this word means?"

"A male duck" Brittany said straight up.Nellie furrowed her brows and turned back towards Mr.Shue."A ballad is a love song" Nellie smiled.She totally had this week in the bag.Her whole playlist consisted of ballads.

"Sometimes,but they don't always express love.Ballads are stories set to music which is why they're the perfect storm of self-expression.Stories and music are the way we express feelings that we can't get out any other way.Okay,now sectionals are in a few weeks and there's a new rule this year:we have to preform a ballad"

"Wait,seriously?" Nellie asked.Mr.Shue nodded."Looks like my letter to the Ohio show choir committee finally paid off!" Rachel laughed.Nellie rolled her eyes."Okay,here's our assignment for the week.I'm going to pair you off,and I want you to pick a ballad to sing to your partner.Look them Ricky in the eye,find the emotion you want to express,and make them feel it."

"I really hate most of you in here except for Kurt and Mercedes so I guess I'll pick them" Nellie said shrugging.Mike gave her a fake offended look."No,too easy.Your partners will be chosen by fate.I put all your names in this hat.Whoever you choose is your partner."

" Uh,there's an odd number of us" Santana said.Mr.Shue put his name in the hat.

As everyone chose it was just Matt and Nellie left."I guess you two are together" Mr.Shue said.They both grinned at each other and went to sit next to her.

"Looks like I got you Mr.Shue" Rachel grinned."Ew,this is awkward" Matt laughed causing Nellie to grin at him.

"Uh.....maybe we should just partner you up with someone else" Mr.Shue said."You can be with Matt and Nellie"

"No" Nellie said sternly."Yeah Mr.Shue,the fates have spoken" Finn joked."Erm,what songs are we supposed to sing exactly?" Artie asked.

"Why don't you let Mr.Shue and I demonstrate.Brad,endless love in B flat please" Nellies eyes widened.She was going to sing that to a middle aged man,even worse was that was her teacher.

"Uh,I really don't think that's an appropriate song,Rachel" Mr.Shue quickly shut down the idea."Why? It's a great song and it's a perfect ballad" Rachel said.

"Yeah,I really like that song,Mr.Shue" Finn egged on.Was he being salty because he got Kurt as a partner? She would love to have Kurt as a partner."Shut it Finn" Nellie snapped.

It was obvious Rachel had some sort of crush on Mr.Shue after the song.And it was creepy and disgusting.Mr.Shue was about 30,and Rachel was 15.

After glee club Matt and Nellie were walking down the hall."I'm thinking about us singing more then a feeling by Boston,you up for it?" Nellie asked."I don't sing,but for you I will" Nellie blushed and looked down.

"Cool.Lets head over to the auditorium" They both walked over hand and hand and saw Kurt and Finn in there."Oh,sorry we thought this was empty" Nellie said looking around.

"No Nel,I was just leaving" He brushed past her and Nellie turned towards Kurt."Give me a second please?" She asked Matt.He nodded and she walked over to Kurt.

"I don't get it,why doesn't he like me?" Kurt hissed."Kurt,you're my real genuine friend and I love you.But you cannot force it.Finn is straight,and I'm sorry but you have to accept them.He's pretty weirded out because the football morons told him being gay wasn't normal.You gotta make him feel comfortable" Kurt nodded and wrapped her in a hug.

"Thanks Nel" And with that he walked out of the auditorium.Matt walked over to her."I want to go all out.I have an idea" He grinned.He picked Nellie up and spun her around.

"Ahh!" She squealed grinning.He held his hand out and Nellie took it.

They got high fived and grinned."We're so going to win this" He smirked.

"Of course we are"

Later that night puck had still been acting weird and Nellie was getting sick of it."Whats your problem?" She asked."Me? Oh uh,nothing" He shrugged.

"Really? Because you've been getting real close to Quinn lately."

"Drop it Nel" He said through gritted teeth.Nellie scoffed.One way or another she was going to find out the truth.

The next day
"I'm telling you Kurt,he completely blew me off and ignored me.Stupid b-" Nellie was cut off by the sound of Quinn and Finn arguing.This morning Finn told Nellie he told his mom about Quinn being pregnant.She met Ms.Hudson before,and she was a sweet and kind woman.But Quinn argued that she would probably tell other moms.

"All this baby drama is making my rosacea act up" Tina said."It's kinda sad actually." Nellie muttered."They're all alone with this" Mercedes said sadly.

"Let me see what I can do.I'll report later" Kurt proudly said walking forward.Nellie face palmed.This wasn't going to end well.

After their conversation Nellie walked over to Kurt."I admit it.I'm madly in love with Finn" He whispered."Kurt,you're going to get your heart broken.And I don't want that to happen to you.You mean a lot to me" Kurt smiled at her.

"Thanks.You mean a lot to me too" Nellie grinned before walking off,and bumping into Rachel

"Oh no,go away Rachel" She said walking away.Her wrist was grabbed and she was thrown into the wall."Give this to Mr.Shue for me" She whispered in his ear.

"No-AH!" Nellie screamed,her body hitting the floor."DO IT!" Nellie took the gift with shaking hands.She stormed over to the choir room.

"Rachel is back.And shes creepy and disgusting,like Susie Peppers " Nellie gasped out.Mr.Shue took the gift."I thought I told her to leave me alone,"

"Oh well that didn't work out very well did it" She sarcastically asked."I got thrown into a wall for you.Take the damn gift or I'll slap you in the face" She then stormed out and bumped shoulders with Rachel.

This was garbage."Why do you hate me so much?" Rachel called out.Nellie slowly turned around."I don't hate you,just strongly dislike you" Nellie responded honestly.

"You're jealous because there's a chance I'm better and more successful then you and that you're just some loser that-"

"Shut up Rachel,I won't say it again" Nellie warned now backing her into the wall."You know what Rachel,you're just a hopeless romantic who has wet dreams about Mr.Shue and Finn Hudson despite the fact that there's a chance you're going to be alone,so so alone." Rachel slapped Nellie across the face.

It echoed across the hall and everyone turned to stare at them."YOU BITCH!" Nellie screamed slapping her back even harder.And now they were fighting,Nellie throwing punches all over the place.

"NELLIE STOP!" Finn yelled dragging her away from Rachel."Get away from me Finn!" Nellie yelled shoving him back.

"What the hell are you doing? Putting your hands on Rachel?" Finn asked walking over to Rachel who was holding her nose."She started it"

"And you ended it." Finn snapped."Whatever.I'm out of here!" Nellie yelled."Wait Nellie stop!" Finn yelled grabbing her wrist.

"Why did you hit Rachel?" He asked."You should be asking her why she put her hands on me first"

"I've never seen you hit anybody before"

"Surprise surprise Hudson River" Nellie sarcastically said."Nel,please stop.Is this because you didn't take your meds?"

"Maybe" She mumbled."Jesus Nel the last time you forgot to take your meds you passed out in the hallway.Please take them" Nellie sighed."Get me some water" Finn nodded and ran over to the fountain.

Once she took her meds she glared at Rachel who was being helped out by Mr.Shue."I'll apologize to her later.See you around Hudson River" Finn smirked at her as she walked off.

Time Skip
"Rachel come out of the stall and quit whining" Nellie snapped at Rachel who was in the stall."Why,come to punch me in the face too?" She sniffed."Oh shut up,you started the fight" She stepped out of the stall.

"I came to apologize.It was wrong for me to say those things about you and for that I'm sorry.But you need to take your accountability as well"

"I guess it was wrong for me to say those things too.You're actually really talented" Nellie sighed."When will we stop? We make up one day and fight the next."

"Then let's make this the last time we ever have to say sorry to each other" Rachel held out her hand and Nellie shook it."The glee club had something prepared for Finn and Quinn.You should come,since they're basically your best friends" Nellie nodded.

They both walked inside to see Quinn sitting there.Rachel grabbed her hand and led her over to next to Artie.Mercedes walked in with Finn and Kurt.
"Is there a cake?" He asked."No Finn,there's no cake" Mercedes answered.

"Your fellow glee clubbers,want to sing a song for you guys.To let them know how they feel about you."

"What are you going to sing?"

"Just listen.The song will say everything"
