"Wow, Togami. Is that your locker or a garbage dump?" Fuyuhiko's voice dripped with sarcasm.
Hannah rolled her eyes and slammed her locker shut, turning to face him. "What do you want, Kuzuryu? Shouldn't you be off plotting world domination or something?"
Beside Fuyuhiko stood a tall girl with striking grey hair, which was neatly tied back into a ponytail. She had a serious expression, her piercing eyes scanning the corridor with vigilance. She wore the school uniform impeccably, every button and fold in place, and her posture was rigid, almost military-like.
Fuyuhiko smirked, ignoring her comment. "Aren't Togamis supposed to be professional and orderly? Your locker looks like it belongs to a slob." Hannah narrowed her eyes, her temper flaring.
The grey haired girl remained silent, her gaze unwavering. Hannah glanced up at her and smirked. "Is that your girlfriend, Fuyuhiko?"
Fuyuhiko's smirk faltered for a split second before he shot her a glare. "She's my bodyguard and works for the Kuzuryu Clan. She's more capable than you could ever imagine."
Peko stepped forward, her voice calm and steady. "My name is Peko Pekoyama. I am Fuyuhiko's bodyguard and personal swordmaster. It is my duty to protect him at all times."
Hannah snorted, trying to contain a laugh. "Seriously? Fuyuhiko, you need a girl to protect you? That's just pathetic."
Fuyuhiko's eyes narrowed dangerously. "Watch your mouth, Togami. Peko could take you down in an instant."
Hannah crossed her arms defiantly. "Oh, I'm so scared. What's she going to do, lecture me to death?"
Peko's eyes flashed, but she remained silent, standing firm beside Fuyuhiko.
"Unlike you, Hannah, I have actual responsibilities and people who depend on me," Fuyuhiko shot back, his voice laced with anger. "You're just a spoiled brat who thinks the world revolves around her."
Hannah's cheeks flushed with anger. "You don't know anything about me, Kuzuryu. Just because you're a mafia heir doesn't mean you're better than everyone else."
"At least I know how to handle pressure and responsibility," Fuyuhiko retorted. "You wouldn't last a day in my world."
"Like I'd want to," Hannah snapped. "You can keep your shady dealings and violence. And I'll stick to something more meaningful."
Their argument grew louder, drawing the attention of passing students who began to watch the heated exchange.
"Meaningful?" Fuyuhiko laughed harshly. "What, like prancing around your fancy mansion pretending to be important?"
Hannah's eyes flashed with fury. "Better than living a life where you constantly have to watch your back because you don't know who might stab you next!"
"At least I can defend myself," Fuyuhiko shot back. "Can you say the same, little princess?"
Hannah clenched her fists, taking a step forward. "I don't need to fight to prove my worth. Unlike you, I have a future that doesn't involve bloodshed!"
As the argument between Hannah and Fuyuhiko escalated, the tension crackled in the air like static electricity, threatening to ignite at any moment. Their voices rose in a cacophony of anger and frustration, each word a dagger aimed at the other's pride.
Fuyuhiko's eyes blazed with anger, and for a moment, it looked like he might lash out. But before the situation could escalate further, Peko stepped forward, her presence commanding attention. "Young master, please allow me to handle this."
Fuyuhiko waved her off, irritation evident in his voice. "I don't need your damn help, Peko. Stay out of this."
But Peko remained resolute, her gaze unwavering. "I cannot stand idly by while you are in danger, young master."
Hannah couldn't help but smirk at the scene unfolding before her. The feared Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu, being protected by his own bodyguard. A girl no less. It was almost too comical to bear.
Fuyuhiko's anger flared at Hannah's amusement, his jaw clenched in frustration. In a swift motion, he closed the distance between them, pinning her against the lockers with his body, his voice dripping with menace. "You think this is funny, Togami? You think you can laugh at me?"
But Hannah couldn't contain her laughter, her amusement bubbling up despite the danger she was in. "Oh, come on Kuzuryu-!" she managed between giggles. "You're really gonna let your bodyguard fight your battles for you? What kind of yakuza leader are you?"
Fuyuhiko's grip tightened on her shoulders, his frustration reaching a boiling point. "I'm warning you, Togami! You don't want to push me."
But Hannah continued to laugh, the sound ringing through the empty hallway like a challenge. "Oh. I think I do, Fuyuhiko~. I think I really do."
Despite Peko's attempts to diffuse the tension, Hannah and Fuyuhiko remained locked in their standoff, oblivious to her warnings.
Fuyuhiko's anger reached its boiling point as Hannah continued to laugh in the face of his threats. With a growl of frustration, he raised his hand as if to strike her, his eyes blazing with fury.
But Hannah didn't flinch. Instead, she met his gaze with a defiant glare, her laughter still bubbling up from deep within her. "Go ahead, Fuyuhiko. Hit me if it makes you feel better. But it won't change the fact that you're just a scared little boy hiding behind his daddy's name." She then gestured over to Peko who was getting ready to interfere at any moment. "And, this chick over here!" she snickered.
Fuyuhiko's hand hung in the air for a moment, his rage battling with his pride. He knew that hitting her would only make things worse, but the urge to assert his dominance was too strong to resist.
Peko stepped forward once again, her voice firm but calm. "Young master, please. This isn't the way to handle things. Let's just calm down and talk this out like rational adults."
But Hannah and Fuyuhiko paid her no mind, their focus consumed by their own personal vendetta. They were like two bulls locking horns, each refusing to back down until the other submitted.
The argument between Hannah and Fuyuhiko raged on, their voices echoing down the empty corridor. Neither of them noticed the sound of loud approaching footsteps until it was too late.
"You're so path-!" Hannah stopped
mid-sentence, her eyes widening as she looked up. Fuyuhiko's gaze followed hers, and both of them froze. The principal stood there, his face a mask of fury.
"What do you two think you're doing?" His voice was a thunderous boom, reverberating through the hallway. "Not only are you not in class, but you're disrupting the peace and fighting in the corridors!"
"Excuse me sir. Please, let me explain-!" Peko said, trying to defend Fuyuhiko but she was instantly silenced, a cruel hand placed in front of her face before she was quickly ushered away from the scene.
"Come to my office. Now!" the principal commanded, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Hannah and Fuyuhiko exchanged a quick, heated glare before looking back at the principal.
They followed him in tense silence, the air crackling with unresolved animosity. Hannah's fists were still clenched, her face flushed with anger. Fuyuhiko walked with rigid shoulders, his jaw set in a hard line.
When they reached the principal's office, he motioned for them to sit. They took their seats, still shooting daggers at each other with their eyes.
The principal closed the door behind them and took his place behind his desk, leaning forward with his hands steepled together. "Explain yourselves," he demanded.
Hannah took a deep breath, ready to launch into her side of the story, but Fuyuhiko beat her to it.
"She started it," he said, his voice dripping with disdain. "She was making a scene at her locker, and when I called her out on it, she got all defensive and started yelling at me."
Hannah's eyes widened with fury. "That's not true! You came over to me just to provoke me! You always do this, Kuzuryu!"
The principal held up a hand, silencing both of them. "Enough. I don't care who started it. The fact is, you were both fighting in the hallway and disrupting the school. This kind of behavior is unacceptable."
Hannah and Fuyuhiko fell silent, both of them glaring at the floor.
"You two will serve detention for the rest of today. Maybe it'll give you some time to think about your actions."
Fuyuhiko bristled at the reprimand, his fists clenched at his sides. "This is ridiculous," he spat, his voice dripping with venom. "I don't belong in detention."
But the principal's expression remained unmoved. "Rules are rules, Mr Kuzuryu. And they apply to everyone."
Hannah couldn't help but find the situation amusing, a smirk playing at the corners of her lips. "Looks like the great Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu isn't above the law after all," she teased, unable to contain her laughter.
Fuyuhiko shot her a glare that could have melted steel, his anger boiling over at her audacity. "This is all your fault, Togami!" he growled, his voice low and dangerous.
But Hannah just laughed harder, the sound echoing through the office like a taunt. "Oh, please-" she scoffed. "Like I'm the only one to blame here."
The principal sighed, rubbing his temples wearily. "Dismissed," he said, waving them off.
They stood up, glaring at each other as they exited the office. Once they were back in the hallway, Hannah rounded on Fuyuhiko.
"This is your fault," she hissed.
"My fault?" Fuyuhiko shot back. "You're the one who can't control their temper."
Hannah gritted her teeth, her hands clenching into fists again. "I can't believe I have to spend even more time with you."
Fuyuhiko scoffed, "Trust me. The feeling is mutual, Togami."
