The drive there was peaceful. It was nice to have a few hours of silence with just the sound of your favourite songs playing quietly in the backround. Especially considering the chaos that you suspected was awaiting once you finally got to the university.
As you finally arrived, you noticed your mother talking to a strangely familiar women.
They were on a patch of grass near the universities entrance, where other parents were frantically helping their kids move stuff into their dorms and student accomodation, which had all been assigned and organised shortly after the acceptance emails were sent out.
As you parked your car and got a closer look at who your mother was talking to, it all clicked.
Shit.
That was Giyuu's mom.
Which also meant...that Giyuu was probably nearby too.
Your mom noticed you in your car and beckoned you over.
Your eyes widened and you shook your head, hoping she would get the hint.
She gave you a confused look but thankfully took the hint, which gave you a minute to collect your thoughts.
You weren't always the best at dealing with exceptionally crowded places which is why your heart was already pounding and your leg was bouncing up and down.
You took a few deep breaths before heaving yourself out of your car and making your way round to the boot.
"It's fine, it's fine," you kept repeating "everything will be okay,"
Suprisingly, everything was infact okay.
Your mom and a couple of the moving van guys, helped carry all your stuff up the stairs. Being an artist (and somewhat of a photographer) meant a lot of expensive equipment that you weren't willing to loose or break.
By about 1pm, pretty much everything was set, you hugged and kissed your mom and brothers goodbye, and made your way back upstairs.
As you walked along the corridor you kept on glancing up at the doors to make sure you got to the right one.
But, as your mind was elsewhere, you didn't notice the guy right infront you, whos head was down in his phone.
His shoulder harshly bumped into yours.
"shit, sorry," he mumbled his eyes darting up almost immediately.
Deep, blue eyes.
You knew exactly who that was.
He had gotten a bit taller, and had grown in to his face a bit more, but his eyes were sad, windows to grief, and hundreds of experiences and memories. His hair had grown out a bit too, it hung messily passed his shoulders, sculpting his face nicely.
You gave him an awkard smile before zoning out and again continuing off down the corridor.
You blinked and directed your thoughts back to the present as you finally found the door you were looking for.
You pushed your thoughts about Giyuu to the side as you gently unlocked the door to your dorm.
Perhaps your roomate had finally shown up?
As you pushed the door open, your ears were met with a shrill, feminine voice
"KYAAAAAAAA," a girl emerged from around the corner of your kitchen, tackling you to the ground in a tight hug.
She had pink and green hair and was wearing a pink top, with thigh high green socks and a white skirt.
You hit the ground with a light 'thud', as she continued rambling.
"I'M REALLY SORRY BUT I THINK I ALREADY BROKE THE CURTAINS, I WAS FIDDLING WITH THEM SO I COULD HANG UP SOMETHING IGURO GIFTED ME BUT THEN IT ALL WENT WRONG AND NOW THE CURTAINS ARE BROKEN AND-"
She cut herself off.
You stood their wide eyed, processing what had just happened.
"hello to you too," you said, giving her a slightly confused look.
"Oh! I'm so sorry, I haven't even introduced myself," she pushed herself off you and pulled you up off the floor, so you were both standing.
"My name is Mitsuri Kanroji! Aspiring artist and dancer!" she smiled and posed.
You loved her already.
"I'm Y/n L/n," you responded, reciprocating the same smile. "I'm majoring in art but doing a minor in photography,"
"YAY!" she practically squealed, engulfing you in another hug, "it's nice to know i'm rooming with another art major!"
You chuckled and returned her hug.
"so about the curtains?" you asked.
"Ohhhh, so basically, iguro got me a little wind charm thing and i wanted to hang it up, so i tried meddling with the curtain but it didn't work..."
"don't worry about it," you said, softly.
"also..." you spoke again "who's iguro?"
"one of my friends!" her cheeks turned the same colour as her hair.
She continued to talk.
"Most of my friends go to this university, some of them are a year or two older but we've all known eachother for aaaaages, i'll introduce them to you sometime, i'm sure they'll love you!"
You nodded in agreement.
"sure that sounds great!"
As the day went on, you got to know Mitsuri better and helped eachother with setting up your rooms. You had both finished organising the place pretty quickly, giving you the evening off to do whatever before classes started.
"Y/nnnnn," she called, from the other room.
"hm?" you responded.
"how would you feel if I invited the others over for dinner...?"
You thought about it for a moment.
"Sure thats fine!"
"GREAT! I CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TOO MEET EVERYONE!" she skipped back into her room to arrange it all.
You didn't dress up or anything. After all they were the ones coming over, you touched up your make up ever so slightly but that was about it.
At around 7:30pm, you heard a banging on the door along with a lot of commotion.
You leaned against the kitchen counter which was just a metres away from the door, with your arms folded.
The university's dorms were surprisingly spacious.
Mitsuri opened the door, and to your suprise was a group of people.
A tall, muscular man with white hair and marroonn coloured eyes pushed himself through them, as another guy yelled at him.
"Get your fucking man tits out of my face," he growled.
The first white haired man ignored him and invited himself in.
"Mitsuri, who's your pretty friend," he gestured towards you.
You said nothing and let Mitsuri do the talking.
"This is Y/n! She's my roomate," she said, with a big smile on her face.
"Hey," you mumbled.
The tall male, walked over to you and slung an arm over your shoulder.
"Hey gorgeous," he teased.
A pale and much smaller girl, with black and purple hair, followed in after him, along with others.
"Tengen, it's not even been five minutes," she shook her head, dissaprovingly.
You had always been a bit quiet when you first met people, but that didn't seem to be the case with this lot. Despite the slightly awkward first encounter, it didn't take long to warm up to them.
Your dorm had been blessed with quite a large kitchen and eating area, meaning all seven of you were able to fit comfortably around the one table.
You guys couldn't be bothered to cook, so ended up just ordering pizza from this fancy pizza place down the road.
Before you started eating, mitsuri mentioned something.
"Oh y/n i haven't introduced everyone yet,"
Tengen and mitsuri were sat either side of you. With Rengoku on the other side of Tengen and Sanemi was sat in between Obanai and Shinobu.
Everyone was pretty friendly, apart from Obanai who was a bit quiet and Sanemi who seemed to only know how to say "shut the fuck up" everytime someone dared to open their mouth...but other than that and the constant yellling and cursing in general...he seemed okay.
The constant chatter in the room created a sense of comfort and safety, something you never had growing up, your parent's relationship had been a bit rocky so family dinners often ended with arguments and lots of shouting.
You took a minute.
Laughter echoed around the room, and the wind chime that hung on the broken curtains, blew nicely, creating somewhat of a melody. A warm glow illuminated the room, and the paintings you and mitsuri had hung up earlier that day, stood out nicely against the white wall.
Finally, you were home.
