"And in 1925..."
You were on the verge of falling asleep in your art history class. The content was interesting, but your teacher was kinda old and a bit boring.
But Mitsuri seemed to be oddly energetic and proactive. She was seated next to you, scribbling down nearly everything he said, answering most of the questions he asked.
You checked your phone, groaning when you realised there was still a whole hour left.
"You will be writing an essay on this."
More groaning.

You did end up working more in the second half of the lecture because Giyuu was right. But consequently, you were even more tired than before, if that was even possible.
Mitsuri had ten minutes to get to the other side of campus for a dance class, so left you by blowing a kiss in your direction.
As you walked out the door and turned a corner, your heart nearly jumped out your chest when you saw Giyuu leaning against a wall.
"Jesus fucking christ Tomioka you scared the living shit out of me." your hand almost clutched your heart.
The corner of his mouth twitched, something he seemed to do a lot.
"Have you eaten today?" he asked, studying your face.
"No I forgot..."
He sighed a reached into his pocket before bringing out a breakfast bar.
Your face lit up and you snatched it straight from his hand.
"What happened to thank you?"
"Thank you..." you muttered quietly.
There was a few more moments of silence before you spoke again.
"Did you have a class?"
"No but i was in the library working on a project with someone from my English class. We have to do a presentation giving in depth comparisons on a couple of Shakespeare's plays and talk about why they're relevant today."
"That sounds... complicated. Is your partner nice?"
"She's alright, she...comes off a little strong at times,"
You scrunched up the wrapper of the granola bar and shoved it in your pocket.
"I'm gonna get going now, Tomioka. I have some stuff I want to get done."
"Wait...L/n before you go..."
You turned back on your heel.
"I've sent you our finished photography project. Let me know if there's anything you want to change before we submit it."
"Okay," you smiled before walking off.
-
As you reluctantly walked back home, the thought of handing in the project you and Giyuu had worked so hard on lingered at the back of your mind.
Things had definitely changed between you, but a small part of you felt you guys were only playing nice because of the project and soon, you would go back to being almost strangers again.
Because, at the end of the day, there was no need to be friends, was there?
You both took completely different majors, and in all honesty, had pretty terrible communication skills.
But then you remembered all the little gestures he had done for you, and the way he looked at you, and how gentle he was with you.
Was it possible you could be...more than friends?
As you entered your dorm room, you realised there was no need to hate him anymore.
He wasn't as stoic and as arrogant as you thought he was.
You flopped on the sofa and started roughly sketching out some ideas for your next painting.
As you were doing so, you got a message...from your dad.
Dad
Dad
your mum told me
to tell you that we're coming
to your university's art show in
January.
[seen 11:05am]
You groaned against your screen before dropping your phone into your lap.
Now you had you to make sure that everything was absolutely perfect.
-
Later that day, you ended up going to a coffee shop to study for an exam you had coming up in about a week or so.
You placed yourself in one of farthest corners, so you could actually concentrate.
However, what you didn't expect was Giyuu to come waltzing in not even an hour later, with an unfamiliar looking girl by his side.
You were sitting at an awkward angle, so you couldn't exactly see what they were doing, but you did notice him at one point lean down to her cheek level as if he was going to kiss her.
You looked away almost immediately, stomach churning.
As you tapped away at the keys of your laptop, you did your best to ignore the discomfort in your throat.
There was no need to be jealous. You and Giyuu were just about friends.
He could kiss whoever he wanted; you had no right to be jealous.
-
Confused and tired, you ended up finishing a little earlier than planned and popped by a nearby supermarket to pick up some essentials.
You dumped the shopping in the back of your car and slumped in the car seat, sighing as you gripped onto the steering wheel.
It was a short drive home, but enough to make you exhausted.
You practically sleepwalked up to your dorm and ended up crashing on the sofa, falling into a deep, deep sleep.
Even though it was barely 3 in the afternoon...
