Days passed, and before you knew it your first week was coming to an end.

You hung out with Mitsuri and that lot a few times and Giyuu gave you the odd glance when you saw him in the hallways. Almost like a reassurance.

It was late Friday afternoon when your roomate was sitting on your bed, updating you on her situation with Obanai as you finished doing your hair.

You both were getting ready to go out to dinner with everyone. Nothing extremely fancy, just something to commemorate the first week coming to a close.

You opened your wardrobe, running your hands through the multiple outfit choices you had, before settling on a red dress that your mother had bought for you for you sometime last year.

Not too casual. Not too fancy.

Perfect.

Misturi had popped back into her room to fix up her hair, so you took the opportunity to slip into the outfit you had chosen.

You looked softly at your reflection in the mirror, as the corner of your lips curved upwards.

As you grabbed one of your favourite bags and shoved your phone and some lipgloss in it, Mitsuri stepped back into your room.

"AHHH YOU LOOK SO PRETTY!!" she ran towards you and pulled you into a light hug.

After experiencing Tengen's driving first hand, you made the conscious decision to take your own car instead.

Obanai had offered to take Mitsuri, so it would just be you on the journey there, which, to be honest, you didn't mind. It gave you a chance to gather your thoughts before what was definitely going to be a chaotic but fun night.

As you eventually pulled up to the restaurant and stepped out the car, a warm late summers breeze hit your cheeks. You took a deep breath before making your way towards a large set double doors that lay just a few metres ahead of you.

From what you understood in the message that was just sent on the group chat, the others were already inside waiting to be seated.

Velvet carpet coated the floor and golden lamps hung on the walls. The intricately designed wallpaper gave an almost royal feeling to the restaurant's interior.

Mitsuri noticed you from afar and waved you over.

You approached your fairly large friend group and greeted everyone, giving them quick hugs, apart from Rengoku who almost crushed your ribs in the process and Sanemi who told you to die, which earned him a scolding from Shinobu.

The waitress walked over, letting you know that your table was ready.

As you meandered through the tables, you caught a glimpse of black hair from the corner of your eye.

He was in a black shirt, with the sleeves rolled up. The trousers he wore matched the shirt, and on his wrist sat a beautifully crafted gold coloured watch.

His hair was down, and his eyes were glowier than usual.

Was it the restaurants atmosphere and lighting? Or was the boy you grew up hating actually attractive?

You took a seat next to Shinobu, your eyes never leaving Giyuu's figure.

You watched as he ran a hand through his hair and leaned against a countertop at the other end of the restaurant.

"Y/N." a rough voice suddenly spoke, causing you to snap out of your thoughts.

You shifted your gaze to Sanemi, who gave you a concerned look.

"You were staring at him for like five minutes, what the actual fuck,"

You tilted your head downwards slightly with embarassment, your cheeks dusting a light shade of pink.

"Oh you know Giyuu?" Tengen asked.

"We grew up together," you began "Our parents were and still are good friends, but Tomioka and I never got along," you pressed your lips together in a thin line.

"And...?" Tengen spoke again, a slightly puzzled look on his face "do you still not get along? because from the way you looked at him, that doesn't seem like the case anymore..."

You weren't sure how to respond. Your eyes wandered back to his figure, still leaning against the countertop.

The waitress came back shortly after your conversation and took everyone's orders, she left briefly, allowing you and the others to continue your conversations.

You got to know everyone a little better, finding out that Sanemi had a younger brother called Genya, who went to a school nearbye along with some other kids they knew.

You were surprised at how closely everyone's lives were interwined in one way or another, names were popping up in conversations that you'd never even heard of, but still, everyone did their best to be welcoming.

Before the food arrived, you left your seat and made your way to the small bar that sat on the other end of of the restaurant, where Giyuu had been lingering earlier.

As you approached the counter and thought about what to buy drinks wise, a gentle voice interrupted your thoughts.

"Hi L/n," his voice echoed through your ears, once again, inviting you to speak with him.

His dark eyes scanned your features, and your e/c ones did the same back to him.

You swallowed as a nervous feeling began to bloom in your stomach.

"Hey," you spoke softly, avoiding eye contact.

"Relax L/n, I'm not going to bite," he responded.

"How have you been?" he asked as you turned to the bartender and ordered your favourite drink.

You turned to face Giyuu again, this time more relaxed.

"I've been okay, still settling in a little but other than that everythings good,"

"Good," he acknowledged "when did you wanna finish developing and editing the photos we took the other day?"

"I can do this weekend," you said, accepting your drink that the bartender had made for you.

"Great, i'll text you the details later," he looked over his shoulder as you took another sip of the passion fruit flavoured drink resting in your hand.

"Sorry L/n my shifts not over just yet so we're gonna have to cut this conversation short," he turned around quickly and drifted off into the other side of the restaurant.

So he works here, you thought as you wandered back to the table, slightly flustered.

The moment you sat down, Sanemi said something.

"My god, just make out already,"

You almost spat your drink out.

"Excuse me?" you coughed out.

"Don't play dumb Y/n," the white haired man raised an eyebrow causing you shift uncomfortably in your seat and stare at the table.

The waitress arrived with everyone's food shortly.

The rest of the meal was as talkative as usual, your friend group seemed to have dropped the Giyuu situation for now, meaning you were more relaxed and gladly engaged in all the conversations people were having.

By about 10:30pm, the evening was coming to end. Everyone was tired, including yourself, it had been a long and somewhat stressful week and all you wanted to do was sleep.

You said your goodbyes to everyone, and made your way back to your car.

The drive home was quiet, but the streets were still full of life, full of drunks slurring their words and full of dancing and music.

You got home swiftly, Mitsuri was staying at Obanai's meaning you had the place to your self.

Your phone buzzed.

The day was catching up to you, and your entire body grew heavy with exhaustion. You sighed as your head hit the pillow, and before you knew it, you were fast asleep.
