Yeosang opened the door to his room. The familiar warmth flowed towards him. He switched on the light and Jongho followed him. They closed the door and took off their jackets. Although it was still relatively early, the sky was overcast and a certain darkness lay over the city.
The first raindrops pattered against the window as Yeosang pulled something out of his closet. "Here, you can wear this," he said and Jongho smiled. He took the sweatpants and sweater. "I'll go to the bathroom and then you can..." Jongho grabbed Yeosang's hand and stopped him from talking. "It's all right, you can stay," he said, chuckling slightly.
Yeosang shyly avoided his gaze and took something to wear himself. While Jongho changed, Yeosang tried with all his might not to look and pretended that the pants in his hand were the most interesting thing in the world. Still, out of the corner of his eye, he couldn't help but notice how beautiful Jongho's body was and heat shot through his face.
~
When they had changed a few minutes later, the first thunder could be heard in the distance. Yeosang glanced at Jongho, who looked totally exhausted and yawned. Yeosang could guess that he had been studying all night. "Just lie down," he said, as Jongho didn't move on his own.
Jongho nodded and Yeosang watched as he crawled under the covers in Yeosang's bed. Something about the sight gave Yeosang a jolt and his whole body filled with love. He put a few things away, then didn't hesitate and slid under the covers next to Jongho. Jongho had already closed his tired eyes. He looked so peaceful, so calm and sweet that Yeosang couldn't help but look at him. He was so grateful to have Jongho in his life. So grateful that he could give him his love. So grateful that he was lying here now, in his bed, and that Yeosang could protect him from the world.
Dreamily, Yeosang stroked a strand of hair from his face and slid closer. With a tired murmur, Jongho snuggled up to him and Yeosang spread out his arm. Not a second later, Jongho was lying on his arm, his other arm wrapped tightly around Yeosang's waist and he had fallen asleep.
While the chaos raged outside and the wind whistled, the two of them lay here in absolute security. Yeosang had never felt so comfortable with anyone. He pressed a gentle kiss to Jongho's forehead, then hugged him close. He listened to the rain in the distance and watched Jongho sleep peacefully. He had never been happier than at that moment.

Mingi arrived at the university building out of breath. He had actually just wanted to go out for something to eat, but the rain had caught him by surprise and now he was completely soaked.
With an annoyed sigh, he brushed his wet hair out of his face and looked down at his wet shirt. Why couldn't autumn be the way you imagined it to be for once? Instead, there was constant heavy rain.
Mingi looked at his watch and realized with horror that his next class was about to start. In his half-wet pants, he searched hysterically for his phone. First he called Wooyoung, but as expected, he didn't answer. When he tried to reach Yeosang, the call immediately went to voicemail, which meant he didn't even have his phone on.
Frustrated, he hung up again. When he looked back at his contact list, Yunho's name popped into his sight. He didn't want to annoy him, but he couldn't help but click on his name. He nervously held the phone to his ear and listened to the beeping.
"Yes?" Yunho's voice sounded strange, as if he had just been running. "Hey?" Mingi asked as if he wanted to make sure that Yunho was alright. "I didn't mean to disturb you, but do you happen to have a shirt or something? I've been caught in the rain and my clothes are all wet." It was silent for a moment and Mingi didn't know what it meant. "Yunho?" he asked. "Turn around," he suddenly heard Yunho's voice.
His heart began to beat faster and he did as the older man asked. He actually recognized Yunho at the entrance behind him. He dropped the phone in his hand and walked towards him with quick steps. Yunho's hair was also slightly wet, but the umbrella in his hand showed why he wasn't completely soaked like Mingi.
"What are you doing here?" Mingi asked in surprise. Yunho held up a bag. "You texted me in the morning today that you wanted to go out for lunch. I got worried when it started raining." Yunho pressed the bag into his hand and Mingi looked inside, puzzled. He could hardly believe his eyes. "Is this...your sweater?" he asked, looking up again. Yunho nodded with a smile.
Mingi was speechless. His heart was beating in his chest as if it were a ticking time bomb. A bomb that was about to explode every time Yunho did these things. "I don't know what to say," Mingi said. He really didn't know. He had never met anyone like Yunho. Someone so caring that he was by his side even when he least expected it.
"You should hurry, the break is almost over." Mingi barely heard Yunho's words. He suddenly didn't care how late it was or that he would miss class. "Come change or you'll get sick," Mingi gulped and as he turned and walked towards the toilets, he felt the need to cry.
~
With slightly wet hair and wrapped in Yunho's sweater, Mingi left the toilets. He was surprised that Yunho was still here. After all, he had lessons himself. He leaned against a wall and seemed to be waiting. Mingi's heart ached.
When Yunho spotted him, his eyes lit up and he pushed himself away from the wall. The corridor was already empty and the break had been over for a few minutes. "You really need to pay more attention. What would you have done with wet clothes?" Yunho laughed when Mingi stopped in front of him.
He held out his hand, then brushed a strand of wet hair behind Mingi's ear. Mingi looked at him with glazed eyes. Yunho looked at him so sweetly and Mingi's knees went weak. He looked around and when he realized that no one was there, he took a step forward, then fell into Yunho's arms.
Yunho stiffened, probably because he was surprised, but then Mingi felt two arms around him and closed his eyes. "Thank you so much," he whispered. It was all he could say at that moment, but he had the feeling that the words weren't enough to tell Yunho how he felt. Not only was he grateful for Yunho's care, his desire to be taken care of by Yunho grew with every action he took.
After quite a while, Mingi finally pulled away from Yunho and was once again grateful that the older boy didn't push him away first. "Class has already started," Yunho said, glancing at the clock. Mingi looked at him. "Shall we skip?" Mingi grinned. He could no longer concentrate anyway and wanted to stay with Yunho. Yunho started laughing too, his cheeks puffing slightly and Mingi couldn't look away. "Okay." Yunho said in a low voice, as if no one should hear. Mingi grabbed Yunho's hand, then they crept down the corridor.
~
It was evening when Jongho came home. He couldn't stop smiling and his body was overflowing with happiness. He had never slept as well as he did in Yeosang's arms. After he had woken up in the afternoon, Yeosang hadn't let him go and after they had tried in vain to watch a movie, they lay in bed and talked for hours.
Normally, Jongho didn't talk about what was bothering him. He usually took care of everything himself and that was okay. He had never felt the need to share his innermost feelings with anyone. But then there was Yeosang and no matter what, he could tell him anything. Even if it was insignificant, Yeosang made him feel like it was important. Jongho would never have thought it was possible, but he had found his soulmate.
Jongho came into the kitchen with a sinking feeling in his stomach. Even though he had hardly eaten anything today, he wasn't hungry. He was far too happy and excited to eat.
It wasn't long before Lia appeared in the kitchen and snapped Jongho out of his thoughts. He wanted to disappear into his room but Lia stopped him. "Can we talk?" Jongho took a deep breath. Normally he would have said no, but he gave in because he was already incredibly happy and not even Lia could destroy that.
They sat down on the couch with something to drink. Jongho remained silent and waited for her to start, because he wasn't the one who had anything to say. "I wanted to apologize." Jongho nodded slightly, grateful that she at least knew she was supposed to apologize.
"I talked to mum and I know it wasn't fair that I outed you to them." Jongho nodded again. Even though he was no longer angry with Lia for it, he would never forget it. "This isn't to justify anything, but I really liked Yeosang. And it was bad enough when he dumped me, but then to see you get him with ease made me...I don't know...hurt somehow. I've been jealous so many times of how talented you are with singing and how you've always been the perfect son. And I was always just the little sister. And I know you can't help your feelings and neither can Yeosang. It was stupid. I'm sorry."
Jongho took a deep breath to process her words, then nodded slightly. "I'm sorry too. I knew you liked Yeosang and I should have stayed away. But at some point I couldn't do it anymore and now I'm happier than I've ever been. It might be selfish but I can't leave Yeosang. And I know he feels the same way."
Lia's sadness was reflected in her eyes, but she still smiled. "You really match each other," she said. Although Jongho knew that she didn't mean it one hundred percent, he really appreciated her words. "Lia, you'll find someone, believe me." Lia looked down, but then she nodded. Jongho stood up. "And I know that Yeosang is incredibly fond of you. So maybe someday you can be friends again."
Lia looked at Jongho and some of her sadness disappeared. "That would be nice," she mumbled and smiled. Jongho nodded and grabbed his things. He was glad that they had talked, even if it wasn't like before.
~
Yeosang walked along the small path. He was listening to music and daydreaming. His gaze caught on a tree and he recognized the small lake next to it. This place was like a reminder of how magical yet uncertain that night had been. He closed his eyes happily. He had wrapped Jongho's scarf around his neck. He wanted to carry both of those nights in his heart forever.
"Hey Yeosang," someone suddenly called out and when he looked up again, he saw Wooyoung running towards him. Close behind him was Mingi, who seemed less enthusiastic. "Where the hell have you been? We haven't spoken for days," Wooyoung complained directly and Mingi appeared next to him.
"I can already imagine where he was," Mingi grinned. Yeosang felt caught. He hadn't deliberately ignored the two of them, but he had been busy with so many other things over the last few days. And by so many other things, he actually meant Jongho.
"Is there anything you want to tell us?" Wooyoung urged him, crossing his arms. A little embarrassed, Yeosang looked away until Mingi nudged him. "Yeah, okay." he finally spoke. "Me and Jongho..." he could barely say it without blushing and shrieking. "We're together."
Wooyoung's eyes widened and Mingi pretended to be surprised. "Oh my God!" Wooyoung cried out loud and hugged Yeosang. Mingi looked around and was relieved that no one was here to witness the scenario. But he smiled too. "I'm very happy for you," he said to Yeosang. Yeosang nodded happily at him.
Wooyoung pulled away from him again, then sighed and looked up at the sky. "Thank you, dear God." Mingi raised an eyebrow. "What are you saying thank you for?" Wooyoung glared at him. "For all of us finding someone. Don't you think it's fate?" he sighed, enraptured. Mingi looked at him with amusement. Yeosang couldn't help but grin.
A few weeks ago, he was so insecure, so alone and everything felt strange. Now, all of a sudden, he had found his place. He had the best friends he could wish for at his side and a person with whom he could share everything. His dog had died and his family was far away, but he still didn't feel alone anymore.
"Yeosang don't you actually have to go to class?" Mingi asked and Yeosang came back to reality. "Shit, you're right," he groaned and ran off. Wooyoung started to laugh. "And he's gone again and we probably won't see him for days."
Mingi nodded and pinched Wooyoung's arm. "Don't worry, you still have me." Wooyoung looked at him and pinched him back. "Speaking of which. How's it going with Yunho?" Mingi bit his lower lip and turned away. "Tell me.", Wooyoung whined and grabbed his arm. "It's going well." Mingi spoke and knew immediately that Wooyoung wouldn't be satisfied with such an answer.
"We're taking it slow but he's so incredibly sweet." Wooyoung slapped Mingi a few times and giggled. "Aii Mingi we won't be virgins anymore soon." Mingi pushed Wooyoung away from him. "You're unbelievable." he complained. Wooyoung shrugged knowing he was always right. "Whatever." he mumbled.
"I wanted to meet San at the café later." Mingi looked at him questioningly. "So?" Wooyoung grinned. "What do you say you and Yunho come too? I mean a friend of San's will be there too, but otherwise it could be a double date, right?" He waggled his eyebrows.
Mingi looked at him uncertainly. "Well, I don't know." Wooyoung shoved him lightly. "Oh come on, you idiot." Mingi wanted to refuse but at Wooyoung's look, he couldn't say no. "Okay okay. I'll ask Yunho later." Wooyoung smiled happily and skipped along the path. Mingi followed him shaking his head and smiled...
