Everything was happening at the wrong time. So many surprises everything was just so bad. "How did you not know your boyfriend at the time was known in a gang?" Maliik asked me eating sunflower seeds. "I don't know he never brought it up I guess for my safety. I guess that's why he never told anyone about us." I start breaking down even more.
I was at Maliik's house his room was always so clean and comfortable. His beige walls with posters and cartoon drawings of Murakami flowers and Toad from Mario Kart. His room always smelled like vanilla and coffee. Things just weren't turning out like I hoped it to be. I haven't told Maliik about the Miles being spider situation. I kinda left it out, not wanting to compromise his identity. "Well, He's gone now, there's nothing you can't do about it," Maliik said giving me some more tissues.
We turned on the news and found out some more things that turned out that happened that night. The people that shot and killed him were arrested and the people that were accomplices were also arrested.
"Everything is just not working out," I said as I started crying again. "You know Y/N, you are the strongest person I've ever known. Every time something doesn't go your way. You let out your emotions and you get back out there and act like nothing ever happened. You are so strong and confident and determined." Maliik said as he got up to lift my head off of his shoulder. "You remember that time Keon rejected you and he went to the formal with some other girl who did may I say looked a hot mess." I laughed a little bit. "Yeah," I said "Tell me did you or did you not get back at him by going with his best friend? And looking good while doing it?" I shook my head yes. "Y/N I know you liked Eli but his time has come. He was taken off of this Earth for a reason. Can't argue with god." Maliik said as he shrugged his shoulders "This is just a bump in the road you can grief all you want I'm here for you but you are going to have to get over it someday to move on and heal properly." Maliik said as he was embracing me in a hug. "Thanks, Lei. I needed that." I said voice cracking
"Anytime, now let's go get some popcorn and watch hairspray re-runs," He said as he got up from the bed. I laughed and followed him downstairs.

I got a call from an Unknown number. I picked it up but didn't say anything. "Hey is this Y/N? It's me Ganke Miles's friend. I met you one time when you guys went to his cousin's baby shower." I recognized his familiar squeaky voice. "Hi, Ganke. Why are you calling me." I was out of energy at this point I didn't even want to talk to anyone that has an association with Miles. "It's about Miles." Great, fucking great.

I walked onto the roof of my brownstone. The person I see makes me want to jump off the roof. "Hey, Y/N." I walked up to Miles and sat down right across from him. " What do you want." He grabbed my hand but I snatched it away. "Speak with your mouth please." He rubbed his hands off they got stuck to his pants. I looked at his pants like he was crazy. He chuckled "Yeah, um- yeah your right." He looked at me and started talking. "I heard what happened to Eli." I took a deep breath and looked into Miles's eyes. "Dude you gonna bring me up here to talk about my ex and how he's dead I think I know a lot about what happened-" He cut me off "I was there when he was shot, well Spider-Man was." my mouth was open. I sat down next to him. "Miles what the hell! Tell me everything." I said practically cutting off his circulation the way I was squeezing his arm. "Uhm I remember thinking about what happened in your room, I was on top of your roof. I saw him come out of your room. He was walking and I was going to confront him but something was telling me to just watch." I nodded and listened intently. Miles's voice started cracking. "He was dragged into an alleyway. it was some group of boys and they started yelling at him saying If we saw you, you knew what would happen. Why would you come around these parts? and shit like that." the tear started coming again. Miles was hurt. Even though he didn't like him or knew him he knew shooting him wasn't the best thing to do. You could tell him it was a sensitive topic for him. "They jumped him and I guess Eli pulled something out and some all of them pulled their guns out and." I looked down. This was too much. "Thank you for telling me, Miles." I hugged him this was something he didn't want to experience. "Y/N? Are you and me like... Cool?" He said tears brimming up in his eyes.
"Yes, Miles of course. I would never hold a grudge against you." He embraced me in a hug again before we stood up to go our separate ways.

"Bitch that's it?" Malik said to me over the phone. "Bro, yes but I mean at least he spoke up about what was going on but by the time he told it was like too late." I said packing Kay's lunch for school tomorrow "I guess, I mean Miles is a good dude. He doesn't seem to be the type of guy that just view you off because he felt like it." I shook my head no. Miles wasn't like that he was more in touch with his feelings than some guys. He's gentle sweet and caring. He's kind and does amazing gestures of affection. I do still like Miles, yes, to be honest, I did but didn't have feelings for Eli while we were dating. I mean he was nice and all but Miles set everything over the top. I hung up on Maliik and I went to grab my bag of speak cans. It's been a while since I picked up a spray can.
I kind of missed it
