โ Not Where She Belongs โ
Aquila trained, and trained, and trained until she was satisfied with herself. It's been four months since she started learning to fight. Training with Vega and Deimos was the best part. They taught her all the basics. Aquila was a quick learner, so learning to fight wasn't hard. However, Aquila was not able to defeat Vega and Deimos, they had been training for more than a millennium, but her skills were evident enough to defeat any demigod.
Not only fighting, but Aquila also developed more abilities, she learned to night travel similar to shadow travel which allows her to travel anywhere at night. Aquila can also shadow travel, but she fainted the first time she tried it as it drains a lot of energy, so she doesn't shadow travel.
Aquila can create a flare of starlight or sunlight whenever she wants even though she can see clearly at night. She can summon a miniature of a certain constellation it takes a lot of practice and energy she hasn't mastered it, yet.
Aquila has a lot of abilities that will be fully developed by age she has to wait for discovering herself.
It was a normal day in Astrelaia, Aquila did her daily routine, wake up, get dressed, eat, stargaze and stargaze and stargaze, listen to music, train with Vega and Deimos, annoy Vega and Deimos, eat, draw and draw and draw, again stargaze, work her shift, eat, think and think and think (occasionally sleep) then repeat, but her totally awesome routine got interrupted today. She was going to camp half-blood. She did not want to go to that place, but Astraeus said that was the best for her, so she had to go.
Astraeus assigned a star nymph to get her to camp, the nymph teleported her to Long Island.
"I will leave you from here miss." Said Canis, the nymph.
"Thank you Canis, I can take it from here." She smiled.
"Your welcome Miss, just go to the big blue building over there." he pointed his fingers to the building.
Canis teleported to Astrelaia, while she stalked to the building it was large and was painted sky blue.
"Hello? Is anyone in here?" Aquila called. A man came into sight, he was wearing a brown vest coat and white shirt he, and a bushy beard, he was wearing glasses, he seemed to be disabled because he was sitting in a wheelchair.
"How can I help you, dear? " he asked, he seemed to be a kind person.
"I want to meet Chiron," she said. He smiled and said,
"I am Chiron" he confirmed.
"Oh, um. . .I'm Aquila Scott, daughter of Astraeus." She introduced.
"Well, Aquila, how do you know that your father is Astraeus?" he asked. Aquila was about to answer but stopped when Chiron's face turned grim and serious.
"Father of stars and the winds, Hail! Aquila Scott daughter of Astraeus," he said. He was looking at her head, there was a symbol of her zodiac sign, Virgo.
"Is this a bad thing?" She asked, pointing to her head. She didn't know what it meant.
"No dear, it's called claiming it happens when the parent of the demigod acknowledges them." Chiron absent-mindedly answered. He seemed to be deep in thought Aquila wondered what he was thinking. There was a moment of silence but it was broken when she asked,
"Uh, What should I do?" he snapped out of his thought and said,
"Were you living with Astraeus? if you were, then you must know about demigods and that Greek mythology is true."
"I do know about demigods and other things," she confirmed.
"Yes, that's what camp's for, it's a place for demigods to train and survive," he said. "There are no cabins for minor gods and Titans so you'll stay in the Hermes cabin."
She expected it. The Olympian gods would definitely not build cabins for Titans, but minor godsโthey don't know how to treat their own kind, and Aquila expected nothing less. Chiron seemed troubled.
"Sir, if you don't like me being here it's not a problem I'll go." she didn't want to be a burden to anyone.
"No dear, it's just there are not many demi titans, only one was ever there to be exact. I'm not sure how powerful you are," he said. Waitโ there was only one demi titan ever? Surely there had to be more. Indeed, the titans didn't love mortals as much as the Olympians did. But the thought took Aquila by surprise.
"Aelius was a son of Helios I thought he was the first and last to exist, I never thought I would meet you, I was wondering what would you be like." Chiron mused.
"Well then, let's introduce you to other campers," he said.
They walked for a while, she'd thought he was disabled but he was a Centaur. Centaurs existed both in the wizarding world and the immortal world but she never saw one in her life. There were 12 cabins arranged in the Greek letter Omega. They stopped in front of the eleventh cabin.
"Luke!" Chiron called out.
A sandy-haired boy came out of the cabin, he was about the age of fifteen or sixteen.
"Meet your new cabinmate," Chiron said.
"Luke Castellan, son of Hermes," he extended his hand with a small smile. Aquila shook it.
"Aquila Scott, daughter of Astraeus." he raised his eyebrows.
"Astraeus? The Titan god of dusk?" he asked, his tone full of surprise.
"Yes, is there any problem?" Aquila asked. Defence kicked in, deimos had said she would be treated quite differently if people knew who her father was. They hated the titans.
"I never met a child of Titans." he shrugged. "Since you will be staying in the Hermes cabin I'm your counselor if you need anything you can ask me," he said. "That's your bunk you can put your things there." He pointed to an empty bunk bed by the corner.
Aquila thanked luke and went over there, she put her clothes and things at the foot of the bunk and sat down. She glanced at her, surrounding it was a messy place, there were a lot of bunks which was filled with people and things thrown over everywhere, people were doing a lot of things some were chatting some were playing board games.
Some of them spared her a glance but returned to whatever they were doing earlier. The news would eventually spread, Child of a Titan. Would they react the same way if they knew? The Hermes cabin was an incredibly noisy place too.
Aquila hated noise. In the Johnson manor or in Astrelaia it was always quiet and peaceful, but it was completely the opposite of it. What could she do? She has to bear with it. Aquila sighed, when will my life get better? She asked herself and a quiet voice whispered in her mind. It's only the beginning.
