TAKING A BREAK WAS DEFINITELY WHAT THEY NEEDED TO ENJOY THEMSELVES AND BEING TOGETHER. Kevin had gotten engaged and married to Danielle and after he was married, his priorities shifted a little bit, him and Danielle did a reality tv show called "Married To A Jonas." It was his thing but it got weird when the family showed up. Joe and Nick didn't like the idea of the reality show dictating who they were or having cameras at the meeting when their lives have always been a closed meeting. Elisa, on the other hand, wasn't sure about how she felt about the tv show. But when the boys decided to get back together, things... things weren't the best.

Watching her best friends get frustrated that nothing seemed to be working and that the brothers basically hate each other, losing sight of the fact that they did this just to have a good time. It was clear that a break was needed for the boys to discover who they were again and to find that feeling where they did this just to have fun. As for Elisa, every time she tried to write a song, she'd come up empty and obviously, she was blocked, not sure of what to write for her music. After all that success, the four of them were clearly struggling and frustrated. She and Nick talked and Nick felt like him and his brothers were going in different directions like he's going here, Joe's going there, and Kevin's over there and how he felt like the band needed a long break. Elisa understood his point and she could definitely tell that the boys were frustrated, seeing that maybe a break was needed for them to reduce the frustration.

So, while her best friends were in a meeting, Elisa was on her laptop with her guitar in her hands and her notebook next to her laptop as well. She had the music part done but what she couldn't come up with is the lyrics. Deciding to take a break, she took her guitar off and gently placed it down then closing her laptop and setting it aside. Halfway through the night, Joe stopped by completely broken on the inside from what happened in the meeting and just by his look, Elisa could tell that this news was gonna be the hardest on him. She spent the night, comforting Joe about the band break-up and maybe, hopefully, things will be better in the future.

After the news spread of the Jonas Brothers break-up, it was official. The Jonas Brothers wasn't a band anymore, the three brothers heading off in different directions. The first time they even saw each other since the break-up was when Kevin and Danielle had Alena before they went in their different directions again. At first, Elisa did manage to keep in contact with Kevin and Joe but one by one, they slowly lost contact till... they lost contact for good. Elisa would be lying if she didn't say that she felt abandoned and angry with Kevin and Joe. After everything that they went through, it felt like it was over between them and that all those years between them didn't even matter to them anymore.

She was angry with Kevin and Joe when they just lost contact but then, her anger vanished and turned into sadness from losing two of her best friends slash older brothers. Like Nick, she focused on her music and now, after the break-up, the only best friend she had left was Nick, but this time, her feelings for him continued to grow.

And now, it was only Nick and Elisa within this world together.

Normally, I was gonna end the book with the band break-up. But then, I decided to keep this book going and end it when Nick proposed to Elisa or maybe end this book with something else — you guys can decide how you think this prequel should end.
