you felt your heart skip a beat at the sudden confrontation, chocking slightly on the school meal you were having. you stifled your coughs and felt the uneasy eyes of your friends staring at you, reassuring them that you were ok.

was this a date? maybe he wants to meet up alone to finally beat me up-

you quickly shook the thought away and stared down at the message, thumbs hovering over letters trying to come up with a good response.

around a hundred miles away, bakugou was freaking out just the same, except just internally and chewing aggressively on the rice he was having.

the fact you had just left him on seen instead of quickly replying like you always did made him feel embarrassed, but soon with rage while staring at the 4 who created the plan and insisted on him sending the message.

"hey, i think just saying it is very manly if you. takes a lot of guts, i doubt she'll say no!" kirishima lightly nudging bakugou's shoulder, trying to provide some comfort both to the blond and himself, worried the 'plan' didn't work.

"yeah, she probably got called over by someone and is busy. don't worry, but uh... can you stop chewing so loud?" sero reassured the blond with a soft smile that quickly turned into a scowl as bakugou continued to chew louder and louder — an idea popped into sero's ahead to tape his mouth shut.

"or she just doesn't wanna go with you..." denki chuckled a little while taking a bite out of his meal. bakugou immediately snapped his chopsticks and was ready to scream at the boy.

"or she's nervous about what to write back!" mina quickly intervened, making bakugou sit down, still angry but enough to have him calm a little. he looked down at the broken utensils in front of him, deciding he didn't want to walk an extra 10 seconds for a new pair, resulting in him using the remaining parts of the chopstick to continue eating.

suddenly a ding from bakugou's phone cut through the air, everyone at the table had their eyes on it, attempting to read the message.

you concealed a small laugh after him leaving you on read, but looking forward to the...hang out.

"i have a question" you said to the two friends opposite you, as they look up and quickly finish chewing the food in their mouths before nodding.

"so hypothetically, if i were to go out with a guy alone...would that be a date or a hang out?" you asked, both their eyes widening in shock. your plan to try and disguise the question didn't work.

"it's a date!" yashiro smiled, gripping onto your hands and squeezing them a little too hard. she started to ramble on about how she would help you get ready until she got interrupted.

"i think you're just hanging out, unless they said it was a date " kou said, his reply did make you slightly disheartened but he was probably right.

"who are you even hanging out with— wait! is it that person you sit next to in physics?" kou shouted having a few students turn to us. he quickly stands to bow and apologise.

"what, no! they go to a different school..." you said as you finally manage to escape yashiro's grip. "long distance relationship? how romantic, do you have a picture of him?" she asks and moves over to sit beside you.

you scan through his instagram and see no face pictures so decided to check his tagged posts, surprisingly there was a picture of his face. showing the picture to yashiro who's smiling face immediately dropped. kou asked to see the photo and stared at it with a blank emotion.

"y/n, don't you think you can do better?" yashiro laughed slightly, you tilted your head in confusion and looked to kou for some reassurance that bakugou didn't look that bad.

"he looks like delinquent, you're not going alone with him." kou stated. you looked back at the photo and didn't think it was that bad, actually you thought it captured him pretty well.

"kou, on our first day everyone was scared of you because you kept yelling at people and now everyone thinks you're a bully." you mentioned as you continued scrolling to find a better photo, but they were all of him being annoyed or having that weird angry pout he does.

"well, i trust your judgment on him y/n! but he does look kinda uh...weird? why is he always angry, is that guy ok? and what school does he go to?" yashiro said while returning to he original seat and continuing to eat.

"uhh...yeah he kinda just looks like that. he can be nice at times and he goes to UA." yashiro nearly spat out her food while kou had his mouth agape.

"which class is he in?" kou asked, the pair awaiting your answer. "pretty sure he's in the like main hero course or something" you replied, chewing away at your meal.

"y/n you could be going out on a date with the future number 1 hero!" yashiro exclaimed, eyes sparkling in awe. "you mean hanging out. but please stay in contact with him, i want to say i knew a top hero" kou added.

"you guys have a cute dynamic. a person who does hero support and an actual hero! you get to have those cute talks about how to fix their suit." yashiro continued to daydream about different romantic scenarios, instead replacing you for her and bakugou for the new guy she was crushing on.

A/N

sorry it wasn't much of a text chapter but i thought i could improve on my writing skills since i haven't properly written in a while.

and yes i can't come up with names so  i stole the characters from tbhk, go watch and read the manga it's amazing but it might make you cry at times.

and the reason why kaminari randomly showed up during the text convo is because bakugou didn't know how to respond so denki just stole his phone and replied for him.
+ because i thought it would be out of character for bakugou to say "it's a surprise"
