Walking through the familiar hallways of their school, Jiwoo chuckled as she listened to something that Kyungjun told her. He had found her when she had left her science lesson, jumping at the opportunity to walk by her side. At her expression of amusement, his lips upturned and she had to look away, hating how the smallest notion could send a myriad of unknown emotions crashing into her.

Suddenly, he had just stopped walking and furrowed his brows as he looked at the girl. She had chuckled awkwardly before she processed the serious expression on his face. He was looking at her as if he was terrified of her, his mouth slightly agape.

Shakily, he rose his hand and pointed behind her, making the girl spin around quickly.

No longer was she in her school hallway, on her way to her English lesson, but rather in a room full of mirrors. She stepped backwards, a futile attempt to escape the eyes staring back at her, but instead, her back collided with the mirror behind her. Startled, she jumped slightly and turned around once again, everyone else had disappeared and it was only her and her reflection.

Alone...

As she focused on the reflection, she realised a detail she had overlooked, now she understood why Kyungjun had reacted the way he had after seeing her. It was something straight out of a horror movie and she found herself unable to move, paralysed from the sight she saw before her.

Blood ran from the lids of her eyes and towards the curve of her lips, as if she had been crying tears of blood. She was unsure how it had happened but it freaked her out.

All Jiwoo could do was stare back at her reflection, opening her mouth to let a piercing scream pass from her lips.

Gasping slightly, Jiwoo bolted upright, her panicked eyes scanning her surroundings. There was no mirror, there was no blood tears. Memories of the night before came straight to her and she turned once again to see her brother beside her, everyone else was waking up.

It had happened again, they had all been forced into slumber upon hearing that odd school bell. Her dream was at the back of her mind as she realised her reality was a lot more distressing than any nightmare.

Pulling herself to her feet, she looked around the gymnasium, noticing that Hyunho's body still remained hanging from the wall. It had been real, he was really dead and he was not coming back. Soft and quiet sniffles were heard and she recognised a couple of her classmates were tearfully looking at the boy's body, as if they two were unable to comprehend the sight before them.

None of this was fair.

"Hey! Juyoung." A voice exclaimed and Jiwoo peeled her eyes away from the corpse of a friend, noticing that Mina was hunched over a body, shaking it in an attempt to wake up the girl.

The others moved to her side, noticing that Juyoung was unmoving, a white cloth wrapped around her head. Jiwoo bit her lip as she kept a near enough distance away, watching as Yoonseo moved the cloth away from the girl's face. She was growing desensitised to seeing the corpses of her classmates and that terrified her.

How was this becoming normal?

Just as predicted, that haunting siren sounded and Jiwoo pinched her eyes shut, swallowing harshly as she realised what was going to be announced.

"During the night, Lee Juyoung was executed by Mafia. Lee Yuyoung was  a citizen."

A sudden cry left Mina's lips as she glanced down at the girl, shaking her head as if she was attempting to convince herself that this was not real.

"Before the last vote closed, the Doctor nominated who to heal, they nominated Cha Yujun."

That reminder made Jiwoo realise she had not yet used her abilities, she was Police after all, she could see who was Citizen or not. While everyone else turned to Yujun to see who would want to use their abilities to save him, Jiwoo pondered on who she would want to see.

Her eyes moved towards Kyungjun and she frowned, was he lying about being a Citizen, was he actually a Mafia, was he the one killing their classmates?

What was he capable of and was it murder?

Jiwoo frowned at the sudden though, surely not...

"Morning has come, all participants, identify the Mafia and begin to vote."

Rising from the floor she had been kneeled on, Mina walked over to Junhee, pushing the boy angrily as she sobbed. "I said I wouldn't hand in my phone." She exclaimed, pushing him once again as her hands latched onto his shirt. "I said I didn't want to! If we hadn't turned in our phones, we wouldn't have slept here, and they wouldn't have died. You killed them all, Junhee, it's on you."

Moving to their side, Jiwoo grasped the girl's hand, her grip tight and painful as the sobbing girl winced. "Don't take out your frustrations on Junhee, just because he is the only one attempting to come up with a plan. Do you think he knew this would happen?" She snapped, only increasing her hold with every sentence she finished. "Did you see the way you all reacted when you raced for your phones, you pushed the phones of anyone's that wasn't your own away because you wanted to survive. That is all Junhee did, that's all we did, yet I don't see any of you blaming yourselves."

The others went silent for a second before Nahee spoke up. "If only we'd voted sooner, then they wouldn't have died."

From where she was on the floor, Jisoo frowned, her cheeks stained in tears. "They're not wrong," she agreed as she shook her head, "we survived by pure luck. You and Kyungjun," she looked from Junhee to the other named boy, "what'll you do about it now?"

Jiwoo was annoyed, all anyone did was pass the blame from themselves and onto Junhee, it was like he had become everyone's punching bag and she was sick of it. Yes, he was a class president, and yes he made decisions, but that did not mean he was solely to be blamed.

They all could have done more to prevent the deaths of those the night before, but they did not, it was human nature to make mistakes, but nobody saw fault in their own actions.

They only saw fault in Junhee's because that was easier than admitting that they too were in the wrong.

Glancing at the annoyed girl, Kyungjun scoffed at her comment. "Did I suggest we hand them in?" He asked her mockingly as his eyes darted to the class president's. "Kim Junhee, you scumbag, you said we just had to give up our phones! This happened because of you, it's on you."

"Watch your tone, asshole." Jiwoo chimed in, glaring at the boy as she stepped closer to her brother, worried about how silent he was. "None of this is Junhee's fault, he is not the person who forced us into this game."

A hand rest gently against her shoulder and she turned to face her brother, noticing he kept his eyes on the floor. "Jiwoo, don't," he mumbled and she frowned, "I'm sorry," his voice was louder as he directed it at his classmates.

Turning on his heel, he made his way towards the door, his hand dropping off his sister's shoulder as he felt himself buried beneath the guilt he held.

Sparing one last glare at her classmates, Jiwoo scoffed and followed the direction her brother had left in, annoyed at every single one of them and their inability to accept their faults.

Following him into the hallway, she paused when she saw he was not anywhere in sight, how had he managed to disappear so quickly?

Frowning, she made her way through the corridor and grimaced at the sight of the dead body in the lobby. It was bloodied and situated in a pool of that same crimson, the girl's eyes open and empty as she looked at the ceiling.

Swallowing the bile that had begun to rise in her throat, Jiwoo turned on her heel and walked towards the door, calling out her brother's name as she did so.

It was hard to ignore what she had seen but she knew she was going to lose whatever sanity she was attempting to cling onto if she thought about it.

As she stumbled around outside, she felt relief hit her as she noticed the familiar figure of her brother outside, rushing towards where he was stood.

"Junhee!" Jiwoo called out as she noticed him stood in place at the edge of the boundary lines, the speakers repeating the same message to him as he remained there.

Her heart thumped in her chest and she forced the tears back at the sight of her brother. If she lost him she was certain she would go insane, he was her best friend.

Stumbling backwards, Junhee moved from boundary line and Jiwoo was quick to hold out her hands, attempting to stop him from falling. It had not worked as well as she had planned, instead sending them both to the ground. Using her hold on him, she pulled her brother into a hug and frowned at the sound of his cries.

He bore too much responsibility, it was overwhelming him.

"Listen to me clearly, Junhee, and don't even try and interrupt me," Jiwoo spoke firmly to him as he sobbed into her side, "that was not your fault, I don't care what any of them said, you did not know what was going to happen. How was you meant to know?"

The boy pulled away from the girl and shook his head. "They're dead because of me, I told them to hand in their phones, I killed them." Junhee repeated to her, certain that what they had said was the truth.

Jiwoo felt her eyes blur slightly and she bit her lip, shaking her head. "No, Junhee, you didn't kill anyone and don't say that. I need you, okay?" She told him as she found herself unable to stop the lone tear that trailed down her cheek. "If you die, I'll beat your ass in the afterlife for leaving me, okay?"

Despite their situation, Junhee let out a quiet chuckle through his tears and turned to his sister, forcing a smile. Mirroring his expression, she gripped onto his hand, certain that they could get through anything so long as they were together.
