The sun streamed through the blinds as I rolled over in bed, groaning softly. Before I could even check my phone, a familiar voice cut through the peaceful quiet.

"Good morning, sleepyhead."

I cracked an eye open to see Madelyn sitting at the edge of the bed, her hair tied up messily, already dressed in leggings and an oversized hoodie that somehow still managed to look perfect on her.

"How are you this awake already?" I mumbled, my voice groggy.

She laughed softly, leaning down to kiss my forehead.

"Because I'm an adult who knows how to set an alarm." She paused, a teasing smirk forming on her lips. "Also, I may have already stolen a sip of your coffee."

"Rude," I muttered, sitting up and running a hand through my hair. "What's the plan for today, Miss Morning Person?"

"Well," she began, standing up and pulling me gently by the hand. "I thought we could do something cute. Like a farmer's market. Something to get us out of the house."

I stared at her, squinting suspiciously. "Who are you and what have you done with the girl who loves sleeping in?"

She smirked, tossing a hoodie at me. "Come on. You'll love it."

It took some effort, but I managed to drag myself out of bed. I went into the bathroom to get dressed, do my morning routine and all before I went to join her in the kitchen where she had already prepared a makeshift breakfast of bagels and fruit.

The soft morning sunlight filtered through the windows of my apartment as Madelyn leaned against the kitchen counter, sipping her coffee.

Her hair was loose, falling over her shoulders in soft waves, and she wore one of my hoodies, the sleeves pulled over her hands. The sight was so effortlessly beautiful it made my chest tighten.

"Are you trying to show me up?" I asked, taking a bite of the bagel.

"Always," she teased, grabbing her coffee.

"So," she said, her lips curving into a teasing smile, "you're really making me go to the farmer's market when we could just go to the grocery store?"

I grinned, leaning back against the counter opposite her. "First of all, the farmer's market isn't about groceries. It's about the experience. And second, you'll look adorable holding a basket full of fresh produce, so I'm doing this for me."

Madelyn laughed, setting her mug down and crossing the room to stand in front of me. She rested her hands on my chest, looking up at me with a smirk.

"Fine." I murmured, wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her closer.

"But if we get mobbed by paparazzi, I'm holding you personally responsible." I pointed.

"Deal," she said, as I leaned down to kiss her softly. Her lips curved into a smile against mine, and I couldn't help but feel like the luckiest person alive.

"Now hurry up. The farmer's market waits for no one." she directed.

. . .

The soft hum of early morning activity filled the air as we stepped into the farmer's market.

Stalls lined the walkway, bursting with vibrant colors of fresh produce, flowers, and homemade goods. The smell of freshly baked bread mixed with the tangy sweetness of citrus fruits in the air.

Madelyn adjusted her baseball cap, tugging it low enough to shield her face while still looking casual. I glanced around, taking in the bustling scene with a small smile. "Okay, I'll admit itโ€”this is cute."

"Told you," she said, grinning as I reached for her hand.

She gave me a pointed look but let her fingers brush against mine briefly before pulling away. "We're not alone, remember? Paparazzi."

"We'll be careful. Besides, I'd say you're worth the risk."

Madelyn rolled her eyes but couldn't hide the faint blush creeping up her cheeks. "You're lucky you're charming, Evans."

As we meandered through the stalls, I found small ways to touch her without drawing attention.

My hand rested on her lower back as we stopped at a booth selling artisanal jams, and I let my fingers linger against hers when I handed her a basket of fresh strawberries.

We paused by a flower stall, the vibrant blooms catching her attention. Madelyn leaned closer to examine a bouquet of peonies, her fingers lightly brushing the petals.

"They're beautiful," she murmured.

"Not as beautiful as you," I said quietly, stepping behind her and letting my lips brush against the curve of her ear.

Madelyn turned her head slightly, her eyes meeting mine. "Careful, someone might see us."

"Not here," I said, glancing around. We were shielded by the overhang of the stall and the busy crowd moving past us. I leaned down, pressing a soft, quick kiss to her lips.

She sighed against me, her smile soft. "You're impossible."

"And you love it," I teased, stealing one more kiss before pulling back.

As we continued walking, we stopped at a stall selling honey. I reached for a jar on the top shelf, handing it to her with a grin. "For all the tea you like to spill."

Madelyn laughed, shaking her head. "You're ridiculous."

When we reached the baked goods stall, she pointed at a tray of croissants. "We need these."

"We need them?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes," she said firmly, grabbing a bag and placing a few inside. "Trust me, you'll thank me later."

I chuckled, grabbing a couple of muffins for good measure. As we moved toward the checkout, I leaned closer, my voice low. "I want to kiss you so bad," I whispered as she turned to face me.

Madelyn's laughter was quiet but warm. "I do too but at least wait until we get back to the car."

Madelyn picked up a plump peach and held it out to me. "This has to be the juiciest peach I've ever seen."

"Careful," I murmured, leaning close so only she could hear. "You're dangerously close to getting us in trouble with that kind of talk."

Her cheeks flushed, and she nudged me with her shoulder. "Behave."

As she turned to pay for the peaches, I let my fingers graze her lower back, subtle enough not to draw attention but enough to feel the warmth of her skin through the fabric.

She glanced at me over her shoulder, her lips curving into a small smile. I moved my hand away from her back slowly, letting my touch linger for a moment.

Before I could reply, a soft voice called out behind us. "Excuse me, are you Y/n Evans and Madelyn Cline?"

We turned to see a group of fans, standing a few feet away with shy smiles. They looked nervous, holding their phones like they weren't sure if they should ask for a picture.

Madelyn's expression softened, and she stepped closer. "Hey, yeah, that's us. What's up?"

"Can weโ€”can we take a picture with you guys?" one of the girls asked, her voice trembling slightly.

"Of course," I said, glancing around quickly to make sure the coast was clear before stepping next to them.

The girl hesitated before holding up her phone. "Sorry to bother you, but we're such huge fans of OBX."

"It's no bother at all," Madelyn said warmly as her hand rested on the girls arm. She glanced at me, and I nodded, stepping aside to give her space as I focused my attention on the girls who were now standing before me asking me to take pictures with them.

As we took photos, the girls started chatting with Madelyn about the show. I was halfway paying attention while trying to give my attention to those who swarmed around me.

The girls around me had joined in with the other group around Madelyn.

"You're so amazing as Sarah," one of them gushed. "How do you keep a straight face with all the chaos on set?"

Madelyn laughed, her eyes lighting up. "Oh, trust me, it's not easy. There are a lot of bloopers you'll probably never see because we can't stop laughing."

"Is JJ as crazy in real life as he is on the show?" the other girl asked, grinning.

"Rudy's the sweetest," Madelyn said, her tone fond. "But yeah, he's definitely got that chaotic energy sometimes."

As they chatted, more people started to notice and come over.

One girl shyly asked, "Y/n, do you film all your videos yourself, or do you have a team?"

"I film most of it myself," I said with a smile as I signed the back of someone's phone case. "But sometimes I have help with editing when I'm swamped."

"That's so cool," she said, glancing between me and Madelyn. "You two are adorable together, by the way."

My cheeks heated, but I just smiled and thanked her, trying to keep the moment low-key. "Thank you," I spoke softly.

"I also have you as my Lock Screen!" One of the girls shrieked as she showed me her phone as I giggled.

"I don't blame you, I'd do the same thing." Madelyn winked at her before looking over at me with a grin on her face.

I kept a close eye on her, my gaze flicking between her and the growing crowd. She was handling it like a pro, laughing and answering questions, but I couldn't help feeling a pang of protectiveness.

"You okay?" I asked quietly when she glanced my way.

She nodded, her smile never faltering. "I'm good."

A couple of fans asked for a group photo, and I stepped in to help take it.

By the time we managed to slip away from the crowd, Madelyn let out a soft laugh, adjusting her hat. "Well, that was unexpected."

"You're so cute with them," I said, wrapping an arm around her waist as we walked.

"Only because you were here," she teased, leaning into me briefly before pulling back. "You're my secret bodyguard, huh?"

"Always," I replied, pressing a quick kiss to the top of her head when no one was looking.

We continued walking through the market, nearing the end of all of the booths. Madelyn's eyes lit up as she spotted a stand selling homemade candles.

"This smells amazing," she said, holding up a jar labeled "Ocean Breeze."

I sniffed it, nodding in approval. "Not bad. But I think this one"โ€”I grabbed another jarโ€”"is better. Cinnamon Vanilla."

She wrinkled her nose. "Too sweet."

"You're too sweet," I shot back, grinning when she rolled her eyes.

"Wow. Original," she deadpanned, but I caught the faint blush creeping up her cheeks.

We wandered around a bit more, laughing and pointing out random trinkets. By the time we left, our arms were full of small purchases and our stomachs full of the best street tacos I'd ever had.

"This was a good idea," I admitted as we walked back to the car.

"Told you," she replied, bumping her shoulder against mine. "I'm full of them."

. . .

Back at my apartment, I set up my laptop to work on editing while Madelyn sprawled out on the couch, scrolling through her phone.

The sunlight streaming through the windows made her hair glow, and I couldn't help but steal glances at her.

"What?" she asked, catching me mid-stare.

I shrugged, feigning nonchalance. "Nothing. Just wondering how someone can look so cute doing absolutely nothing."

"Flatterer," she said, her lips quirking into a smile. "Don't you have work to do?"

"Don't you have...scrolling to do?" I shot back, earning a laugh from her.

As I clicked through my editing software, she suddenly sat up, looking intrigued.

"What's this?" she asked, leaning over to peek at my screen.

"My latest vlog," I said, trying not to let her proximity distract me. "It's a mess right now, though."

She tilted her head, watching the footage play. "You're adorable. That's why people watch you."

I rolled my eyes. "You're biased."

"Maybe. But I'm also right," she said, grinning as she nudged my shoulder before leaning forward, kissing my neck.

Not long after, Madelyn had to head out for an event which left me alone. I really am enjoying being with Madelyn, I mean obviously, my mind wanders to Scarlett from time to time but, I just feel so free without the push and pull.

I'm with someone who knows they want me and who isn't afraid to say it. That's all I asked for and Scarlett couldn't even do that for me.

She's seemed perfectly fine since our argument which just makes me think she never really cared to begin with and I was just over analyzing our connection.

Lizzie's living room was the epitome of cozyโ€”plush couches, warm lighting, and the faint smell of cookies baking in the kitchen. I sat curled up with a blanket, sipping a latte while Florence scrolled through her phone across from me.

Lizzie walked in, balancing a tray of cookies and a bowl of popcorn. "Okay, snacks are served. Now, what's the latest gossip?"

I rolled my eyes, taking a cookie. "There's no gossip. Just work and the usual chaos of parenting."

Florence glanced up, smirking. "Parenting chaos? What happened this time? I love hearing how they terrorize you!"

I rolled my eyes at Flo, leaning back. "Rose decided she's a fashion designer and cut up three of my good scarves to make a dress for her doll. And Cosmo... well, let's just say he discovered the joys of finger paintingโ€”with mashed peas."

Lizzie snorted, trying not to laugh. "Sounds like you've got your hands full."

"Always," I said, shaking my head with a fond smile. "But they're worth it."

"And how's work?" Florence asked, setting her phone down.

"Busy," I admitted. "We're gearing up for the next Marvel project, and I've got a ton of meetings for The Outset. Trying to balance it all has been... interesting."

"Speaking of The Outset," Lizzie said, leaning forward. "When are we getting those new products you've been teasing?"

"Soon," I promised. "We've been finalizing the formulas. I'll send you both samples."

"Perks of being friends with Scarlett Johansson," Florence said, raising her mug in a mock toast.

Lizzie laughed, nudging me. "And when do you start filming again?"

"Next month," I said. "I'm actually looking forward to it. It'll be nice to dive back into something familiar."

Florence tilted her head, studying me. "You sound better, Scar. More... grounded."

I shrugged, trying to play it off. "Just trying to focus on the things I can control."

Lizzie and Florence exchanged a look, and I groaned. "What?"

"Nothing," Lizzie said innocently. "Just... it's good to see you smiling again."

I couldn't help but smile at that, the warmth of their support easing some of the tension I hadn't realized I'd been holding.

"Thanks, guys," I said softly.

Florence grinned, reaching for the popcorn. "Anytime. Now, let's talk about something fun. Your sex life?"

Lizzie gasped, clutching her chest. "Oh god-."

As they started bickering over the topic of conversation, I leaned back, letting their laughter fill the space. For the first time in weeks, I felt a sense of peace.

Ever since my fallout with Y/n, getting back into the swing of things hasn't been easy. It's been hard trying to find a way to vocalize my feelings for her but, to also try to find ways to move forward if I reach out and she's fully moved on.

That evening, Madelyn returned to my apartment after her event. She still had a faint glow about her, her makeup perfect, her smile bright as ever.

"How was it?" I asked, pulling her into a hug as soon as she walked through the door.

"Exhausting," she admitted, resting her head against my chest. "But good. Tommy Hilfiger knows how to throw a party."

I chuckled, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Glad you survived."

She pulled back slightly, looking up at me. "I missed you, though."

My heart swelled at her words. "I missed you too." I said, pressing a kiss to her hair.

As we sat there, tangled up on the couch, she glanced up at me, her expression thoughtful. "I'm bummed I have to leave for Charleston in a few days."

"I know," I said softly, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "But we'll figure it out."

She sighed, nuzzling closer. "I just hate being away from you." she spoke softly, her tone filled with sadness.

"Chris wants us to have dinner at his place before you go," I said, changing the subject slightly.

Madelyn smiled. "I'd like that. I think your brother secretly likes me."

"Don't let it go to your head," I teased, earning a laugh from her.

We spent the rest of the night curled up on the couch, talking about everything and nothing. At one point, she leaned in closer, her lips brushing against mine as she leaned in pressing a kiss to my lips.

We pulled away and she rested her head on my shoulder as we went through socials.

I came across a photo of Madelyn with the fans from this morning.
