Summary: Ray just lost his indestructibility from the tears of the jolly beetle. Henry has to go on missions alone since Ray is now afraid of being injured. Can Henry handle it?

Charlotte's POV

Ray has been sitting on the couch eating cans of meat literally the whole day!!! Henry's out dealing with another crime at the moment so he's not here.

"Come on Ray, you can't just sit here eating cans of meat all day!!!" I yelled.

"First, I can. Second, I'm not indestructible anymore so what's the point of fighting crime? Third, a bee stung me and now I got a red thumb." Ray said.

I rolled my eyes then heard the signal from the tubes revealing Henry as Kid Danger, his uniform is soaked and he had really messy hair. Gosh... I feel bad for him...

"Hey Kid, where have you been?" Ray asked.

"I, was pulling a big foreign lady out of a swamp!!!" Henry yelled, "By myself, alone!!!"

"How'd you get all wet like that?" I asked.

"I don't know, maybe because the foreign lady fell back in the swamp and pulled me in with her!" Henry yelled, "It's just like I've been doing everything for the past few days!!"

"You want some meat?" Ray asked.

"No, I don't want your canned meat!" Henry said, "I want you to get off your butt, and get back in the game! I want Captain Man."

"Sorry... say hi to Captain couch..." Ray said.

Then the crime alert came on the 46th time...

"UGHH!!!! WHAT NOW?!?!" Henry yelled.

"Henry, calm down..." I said walking to the computers to see what's wrong.

"Fine sorry..." Henry said, "What's up?"

"There's a fire at Swellview Elementary." I reported.

"Got it, Ray let's go." Henry said.

"No! I can't fight crime in my condition..." Ray said.

"Why are you even afraid of being injured?" Henry said.

"Who wouldn't be?" Ray said.

"How about me?!" Henry yelled, "I'm your sidekick, and I've been helping you to do all kinds of dangerous stuff, and I never had any powers!! I can be injured!"

"Which is why I paid you nine dollars an hour!" Ray said.

"I'll be back..." Henry said.

"Where're you going?" I asked.

"To do my job." Henry said.

Henry walked up to the tubes by himself... again...

"Well, go with him!" I convinced.

"I can't!" Ray said.

"You mean you won't..." I said.

"Have you seen my bee sting?" Ray asked.

"Just forget it! I don't need Captain Couch!" Henry yelled.

He was about to press his belt buckle but I interrupted.

"Henry, wait..."

Henry looked up.

"Are you sure you can do this? You've been out fighting crime non-stop." I asked worriedly.

"Yeah... at least I won't be just eating cans of meat..." Henry said.

He pressed his belt buckle, then the tube came down.

"Up the tube!!" Henry yelled.

The tube sucked him up with wind.

"Look the bee hurt me!"Ray said showing me his red thumb.

Kid Danger's POV

Ugh... I'm alone on a darn mision... AGAIN!!! This is literally the 46th mission by myself!! I just wish Ray wouldn't be so paranoid by a fricking power, like seriously!! Does he even think about me but himself?!

I arrived at "Swellview Elementary". I saw a bunch of people looking up the building yelling out names so I ran to a woman which I assume is a teacher close by to ask what's wrong.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked.

"Kid Danger, thank goodness your here!! there are two kids still in the school, they are stuck on the second floor." The teacher said.

"Okay, on it!!" I said.

I was going to run inside but was stopped by a hand grabbing my wrist.

"Wait Kid Danger, the fire is too big. Are you sure you could handle this?" The teacher asked.

"I'm going to be fine, don't worry about me!" I said.

The teacher let go of my wrist then I ran in the building. When I went in the school, I immediately ran to the second floor through the remaining stairs.

"Hello?! *cough* Is anyone here?!" I yelled.

" *cough* We're in here!!" I heard a girl yelled back.

I ran to where the voice was coming from and found two girls trapped behind a bunch of burning desks in different spots.

"Hey, are you girls okay?" I asked.

"Kid Danger!" The girl yelled.

"Thank God!" The other girl yelled.

"Kid Danger!! How is it in there?!" I heard a fireman yelled with a bullhorn.

"I found the girls!! But I barely even started!!" I yelled back.

"You better hurry!! The fire is spreading fast!!" The fireman yelled.

"Okay, got it!!"I yelled. "Both of you stay calm, I'm getting you out of here!"

The girls nodded their heads.

I moved the burning desks out of the way, my Kid Danger uniform wouldn't catch on fire thanks to Schwoz's technology, I finally got one girl out.

"What's your name?" I asked her.

"Lunar." Lunar said.

"Okay Lunar, I need you to stay close to me just in case you'll get burnt." I said.

She nodded in reply. As I was getting the second girl out, I felt Lunar crouching behind me.

The last girl is really tough to get out, there are even more desks and a bigger fire on her side. Finally, I got her out.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Hailey." Hailey replied.

"Same with you Hailey, stay close to me." I said.

"Okay." Hailey said.

"Kid Danger!! Are the girls okay?!" The fireman yelled.

"Yeah!! They're safe!! I'm getting them out of here right now!!" I yelled back.

"Hurry!!" The fireman yelled.

"Okay... the fire out there is even worse than here right now so I need you girls to stay as close as possible to me." I said.

"Okay." They both replied.

The girls look tensed up and terrified.

"One..."

"Two..."

"Three!"

I ran with the two girls by my side, we ran as fast as we can down the burning stairs, we made it to the ground floor, so far so good.

"We're gonna make it!!" Hailey yelled.

Everything went well until a debris that was on fire unexpectedly dropped on me and burned the side of my face. I cried out in pain and crouched on the floor.

"Kid Danger!!" Lunar yelled.

"I'm fine Lunar, keep going!!" I yelled.

We kept running but I was slower than usual, we were 4 meters to the door but I fell again because of pain. I groaned in agony while the two girls tried helping me up.

I felt the floor giving out so I pushed the two girls out the door and I fell through the floor, I heard a crack when I hit the ground and I'm now in the fiery basement...

"Kid Danger!! Are you okay?!" A fireman yelled.

"N...no!" I managed to say.

I used my only strength left to crawl and lean towards the wall hopelessly.

"I'm so dead..." I thought.

Charlotte's POV

Right now, I'm by the computers researching criminals until the alarm rung and the monitors said that there's breaking news. I clicked on the notification then decided to see what's going on.

TV reporter (Trent):
Swellview elementary was unexpectedly caught on fire moments ago. It's gone.

TV reporter (Mary):
That's right, Trent. And according to city officials-

TV reporter (Trent):
According to city officials Kid Danger is currently in the building rescuing 2 little girls who're still trapped in there. Let's go live on the scene with Kimberly Cross, Kimberly?

TV reporter (Kimberly):

*Kid Danger yelps in pain*

"What was that?" I muttered to myself.

TV reporter (Kimberly):
Uh oh, there might be a little trouble in there...

Lunar:
Kid Danger!!

Kid Danger:
I'm fine Lunar, keep going!!

*Kid Danger slows down the fell back down the ground*

"Oh, crap. What happened now, Henry?" I whispered yelled.

*Kid Danger pushed the kids out then he fell into the basement*

TV reporter (Kimberly):
The two girls made it out but Kid Danger is still in there! that's not good... back to you Trent...

TV reporter (Trent):
So who knows? Is Kid Danger dead or alive?

"RAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!" I yelled to get his attention.

Ray came out of the sprocket and is holding another can of meat.

"Whaaat!" Ray groaned as he walked down the stairs.

"I don't think you'll groan when you see this." I replied.

"What, what is it?" Ray asked as we looked at the monitors

"You have to see this news alert." I said.

I rewind till the part where Henry pushed the girls out of the building and he fell into the basement when the floor gave up.

Ray watched in shock.

"You have to save him!" I yelled.

"Right." Ray replied.

He immediately grabs his gumball tube then transformed into Captain Man. He ran towards the tube platform afterward then tapped his belt buckle.

"Up the tube!" Ray yelled.

The tube sucked Ray up, gosh... why does this have to happen?

Captain Man's POV

I knew I should've gone to the mission with Henry! Why was I being so selfish? If I went with him, everything might be fine! Okay enough thinking, time to save Henry.

I arrived moments later and the fire got worse then the time I saw it on the Man Cave monitors, still no sign of Henry out here that means... No! He's okay! I have to go in there!

"Kid!!!" I yelled.

I ran towards the building but someone grabbed my wrist.

"Captain Man, the school is going to collapse soon! It's highly unstable!" A fireman said.

"Kid Danger is still in there! I can go save him! I'll be fine!" I said, ignoring the fact that I'm not indestructible anymore. I just wanted to save my kid.

The fireman let me go, I ran down the fiery basement then immediately saw Henry leaning against the wall breathing heavily. He is caked with smoke, sweating a lot and had this huge burn at the side of his face.

"Henry!" I yelled as I ran to him.

"R-Ray..." Henry spoke softly.

"Don't worry kid, I'm going to get you out of here." I said.

"The girls.... did they get out?" Henry asked softly.

"Yes, they're not hurt." I replied. "Are you?"

"Maybe... my leg hurts so bad..." Henry groaned.

"We'll check up on your leg in the Man Cave. But now, we got to get out of here." I said.

I carefully picked Henry up in bridal style then ran up the stairs.

"Ray... Are we out yet?... It's getting harder to breathe..." Henry whispered.

His voice got softer and his eyelids were getting heavier every second and that's worrying me...

"We're almost there Kid, hold on!" I said.

I immediately ran out of the school with a panicked look on my face.

"I need a medic!!!" I yelled.

When that's been said, two paramedics came out with a stretcher and an oxygen mask, one of the paramedic carried Henry from my arms to the stretcher while the other paramedic placed the oxygen mask to Henry's nose and mouth.

"Hold tight Kid! Your alright!" I said.

~Fast forward~

Kid Danger's POV

I woke up to see the bright lights from The Man Cave, I got back my vision eventually and found myself still lying on the stretcher that I was on moments before I lost consciousness.

I look around and see Charlotte, Ray and Gooch waiting for me to wake up.

"Guys?"I said but came out as a whisper.

"Henry! You're okay! I thought I was going to lose you!" Ray exclaimed.

"Oh thank god, you had me worried for a moment!" Charlotte sighed in relief.

"How do you feel Henry?" Gooch asked.

"I feel better, how long was I unconscious?" I asked.

"About 6 hours..." Charlotte replied.

"6 hours?! Wow, I didn't even realize..." I replied. "Also, did you do anything about my leg? It hurts a while ago."

"Oh yeah, You have a broken leg so you will need to wear a cast for a month or so. You also have a scar at the side of your face, it's not that bad so don't worry about it." Gooch explained.

"Okay, thanks Gooch..."I replied.

"Ray told us he has a lot to say to you so... we're going to give you guys some space." Charlotte said.

Charlotte and Gooch walked out of the room leaving with only me and Ray.

"Henry... I'm sorry you got hurt like this. If I wasn't being so selfish, you could've been fine. But see you injured like this makes me feel like I wasn't protective enough..." Ray said.

"It's fine, I'm okay." I replied.

"You could've died!" Ray said.

"But I'm here right now. It's not your fault Ray, I should've ran out the school faster." I said.

Ray wanted to say something but I interrupted.

"Seriously it's nothing, you don't have to apologize."

Ray let out a small grin on his face.

Without further ado, I hugged him. He was surprised at first but he hugged back. Everything is fine, I'm fine...
