Unicorns are real.
Everything was glitter and rainbows.
The sky is blue.
Nothing is too good to be true.

I was on a high and have been since yesterday, everything about that day was worth being on a high about. I wonder if my high was equivalent to being high off weed or maybe my high is worse... it's definitely worse.

The words replayed in my mind like a broken record making me lose focus on any task that was at hand kiss me kiss me kiss me kiss me it chanted in my head. My pointer finger runs over my lips softly as my thumb rest of my chin savoring the kiss that I enjoyed all too well.

I shuffled in my seat a bit ansty as I think about the kiss Imani and I shared, the way she grabbed me tight by waist, her breath hitching onto my neck, the feeling of never wanting to pull back... wanting more.

"Judea, you're up", my professor speaks making me snap back into reality clearing my throat as I adjust myself in my desk sliding out of it. Ms. Colman gave me a soft smile as she set aside allowing to present to the class. "I-uh", stumbling my words obviously not prepared because I've spent the last forty five minutes reminiscing a kiss.

You could hear faint giggles from some people in the back making Ms. Colman send them a glare but she trailed her eyes over at me disappointed but before she could lecture me the bell ringed. "Alright class the rest of you will present tomorrow PLEASE be prepared", she finished off hinting at me.

Grabbing my things and leaving the class I check my phone looking for notifications ... looking for notifications from Imani but still. My face rises into a smile onto my face when I see recent messages from Imani.

The typing bubbles start to rise and I wait for her to answer but a hard bump pushes me off balance, my phone slipping through my fingers dropping onto the floor.

"My bad", is all I say too busy to see if mani replied as I bend down grabbing my phone off the ground wiping the dust on my shorts looking up at the figure that bumped into me.

The face looked familiar and a rush of jealous runs through me. "Oops I'm sorry", she says with a fake ass squeaky voice smirking at me. I pushed my phone into my pockets not wasting a second to chew this bitch.

"It's all good, you look familiar....", I trail titling my head waiting for her to say her name like I didn't already know. "I'm Alex, Mani ole girl", she answers folding her arms with a sneaky smile.

Mani ole girl, bitch please.

I almost laugh in her face but I control myself, "Oh really since when?", I asked. She flips her ginger behind her face as she comes up with a lie. "I'm surprised she didn't tell you but we've been together for a couple weeks now, I was actually with her last night".

A laugh past my lips as I drop my head down embarrassed for her. "What the fuck funny", Alex snaps as I lift my head back up still laughing at her. "You have a good day", I pat her shoulders.

One thing I learned was that if you gave the enemy what they wanted then it wasn't fun so I just walk away pulling my phone back of my pocket turning my attention back to mani and I messages.

"Hi", Mani greeted me as she answered to my previous aggressive knocks. Adjusting the black Nike backpack on my shoulders I gave her a short rushed hey before I took a step and placed a kiss onto her lips.

She smiled softly at me as she pulls away opening her door a bit more revealing Elijah and Aaliyah who sat on her twin size bed. They waved at me slightly with smirks.

Folding my lips into my mouth before releasing it into a pop, "Hiiii", I trailed. "Sorry I'll come back later I didn't know you had company over... ion mean to bother", I apologize.

Mani shakes her head, "It's okay Ju, I've already checked with them and they said it's okay. Is it okay with you?", she asks. I nod my head and she steps aside letting me in shutting the door after me.

As i sat my backpack onto the empty spot on her floor by mani vanity mani runs her hand down my back resting it there for a bit before she makes her way over to her friends.

"Wassup Ju", Elijah greeted me as i finally took a seat on the wooden desk chair that hid in the corner of the dorm. "Wassup", I replied back, "Hey Aaliyah", I spoke and she gave me a hey.

There's a silence a little uncomfortable but I'm assuming it's because Mani probably told them about the kiss or literally everything. "So are you two dating?", Aaliyah asked breaking the ice.

I swallow in a breath as I wonder my eyes over at Imani, "No", I shake my head. "Not yet", I add on. Imani nods in confirmation at her friends. "We've just had our first date we don't need to rush", Imani speaks.

That's when my eyes squint a little barely even moving my eyes but Elijah caught it, "I think lil miss baller disagrees", He spoke up for me not that I needed him too.

Imani snaps her eyes to me, "what do you disagree about?", she asks adjusting herself on the bed. I take a look at her and then her friends around us.

"Mani I don't want to wait to be yours. I'm not saying we have to be officially together by tomorrow but if I don't think I can wait months... if that's what you're suggesting", I admit. "But come on Ju, we just started this, rushing it isn't good", she says and I let out a sigh.

I didn't want to do this in front of her friends, I shifted myself in the chair and left it alone biting the inside of my cheeks letting the silence roam over us.

Elijah and Aaliyah spark up at conversation to ease the tension. I opted to just get my shit and go but that was childish, So I just sat tuning out their conversation as I thought.

My eyes trail over to Mani whom was already staring at me with sad soft eyes immediately making me feel guilty. We were just on a high of each other and I fucked it up.

I just wanted to go over there and kiss whatever disagreement we had away because I didn't our high to be over yet. "Actually Aaliyah remember that uh... that we gotta face time mama", Elijah stirred up slipping out of Mani bed.

"Oh shit yeah, you know don't she don't play about them face time calls", Aaliyah joined in making it obvious it was a lie and a excuse from them to leave so mani and I could have our space.

Elijah nodded with Aaliyah and they said a quick bye before they left leaving Mani and Us alone. She shuffled in her bed turning on her side before hiding herself in her phone.

My heart clenched as she turnt her back towards me, "Mani baby", I whined as I stood up from the chair making my over towards her. I slid into the bed wrapping my arms around her waist pulling her back into my front.

"I'm sorry", a sincere apology is what i give her along with a soft peck on her cheek. "It's okay Ju, you didn't do anything wrong it's just-", she trials.

Ever since we were kids I've known that Imani had a hard time expressing her feelings so it never bothered me when she couldn't find the right words to express them at the time. I was always patient when it came to her.

"We can talk about it later, okay?", I say as she turns over making our fronts meet. "Okay", is all she says before snuggling into my chest placing a kiss onto my clothed collar bone. "How long do you have until practice?", she asked.

Rubbing my hand in circles on her back already comfortable at our state I replied, "uh it actually got cancelled on my way here", I lied placing a kiss onto her temple.

She hums, "well you stay here and take a nap with me?", she asked taking her head off my chest looking up at me. I smile at her nodding my head, "yeah baby", I say.

Her eyes light at the name and my smile only grows, "you like that?", I asked raising my eyebrows. Mani laughs throwing her back making me join in with her. "Yes, I like that... I love it", she says in a soft low tone changing the mood from playful to an intense lustful mood.

I don't waste time to place my lips onto hers my hand that was rubbing circles on her hand creeps onto her neck resting their softly as I cup it.

Her breath hitches but it sounds more like a moan, "Ju", she pleads as she pulls apart from the kiss. I hum at her eyes low and lidded on her plumped lips.

"It's nap time".
