after the small friend date with hide you decided to wait 2 days before finally sending a message to kaneki. it was 10pm and you were staring at the "send" button on your phone. you were nervous, scared. afraid he won't respond and you'll look dumb.

finally you came to your senses and had the guts to send. you screeched into your pillow. after a while you decided to look at the message. it said read and you could see him typing in the chat... but then then bubble went away.

"kaneki?"
"hey answer me"
"imagine ignoring me:/"

you sighed, and pressed on the call button.
please leave your message for-
it went straight to voice mail. you groaned. staring at your ceiling...

'should i go to his house...? or is that too much.'

you thought about it, long and hard. you stood up, put on a hoodie, and grabbed your keys. you were determined to get your best friend back, you weren't going to let him get away like this. you were driving , thinking of what you would say to him. it was 10pm after all, almost 11pm, before you knew it, you arrived at his house. you pulled into the driveway. got out your car without turning it off and knocked on his door.

you were there waiting, slightly freezing . you blew into your arms to make them warm. as you were waiting you heard rumbling inside of his house.

'what the hell?'

"hey ken its me! y/n, can you please open the door" no response... "ken?!" you shouted. knocking again. no response.

you sighed and as you were reaching for the door handle to let yourself in, he opened the door. you were greeted with his soulless eyes, you were able to tell he hasn't been able to sleep. "are you okay...?" you said quietly as you reached to touch his pale skin. "don't touch me" he said afraid, moving back.

'what the hell is wrong with him...'

you shoved your way into his house "hey! s-stop!" he shouted trying to stop you. "nope, me and you are going to talk." you responded with a stern voice .

you was shocked , his house was a whole mess. opened food everywhere, piles of clothes everywhere and what you thought was normal  meat packages . "kaneki? what happened here... it smells like death" you said in disgust. "i just haven't been feeling well, please leave y/n" he said as he approached you from behind.

you turned around and looked at him. once again looking into his eyes. "we have been friends since forever , please if there's something going on let me know." you said softly , reaching for his hand and grabbing it. he had a small tint of pink across his cheeks. he sighed and looked away from you. "i cant im sorry y/n ... i swear it's not because i can't trust you... it's just complicated. i don't think you'll understand"

you felt rage in your body, angry that your own best friend can't tell you what's going on. he always told you everything. but ever since she appeared , it ruined everything. "she literally ruined you, i don't care if it's fucked up to say" you said with a moody tone. "i'm surprised you guys didn't even get eaten by a damn ghoul that night" you added.

kaneki started bursting into tears, and slammed his hand on the table. "LEAVE GOD DAMMIT Y/N!". you got scared, you've never seen him like this. he was in pain, he was clearly suffering from something. "IM SERIOUS!" he shouted at you again. you gulped and quickly left his house and got into your car . you were huffing , shocked by what just happened. you had a little bit of anxiety in your system , you grabbed your keys and pulled out the drive away. you drove with anger and fear.

you were shaking, for some reason you had this weird gut feeling, as if someone was following you. you looked at your rear mirror and saw nothing suspicious or anyone for that matter.

and that's where you messed up... you lost control of the wheel.

"well you look like a nice meal" a voice said.
you realized you crash, the car beeping. the airbags didn't do much to help you. you were in pain, barely could see anything. you groaned, you tried moving your hand. but failed.

'someone is here... am i saved?"

you were wrong , you were far from being saved. the man was a ghoul looking for his next meal, and whats better than a meal who is already in a injured state?. he licked his lips and unleashed his kagune, chuckling. picking you up with it.

you started whining , "h-help please!". you finally opened your eyes to be met with an orange haired boy with red pupils. "y-your a ghoul!" you managed to say between your breaths. you were afraid , you couldn't fight back. he dropped you to the floor, then slightly put 2 inches of his kagune on your chest. you screamed your lungs out. you squinted your eyes , and that's when he took it out. making you be half unconscious.

there you were laying on the floor, bleeding , eyes closed and having trouble breathing. the man was about to slice you in half but then got interrupted. "HEY! STOP THAT!" someone shouted. that someone being kaneki.

after kaneki took a few hits from the man, keeping him from eating you. kaneki finally got to his breaking point , his kagune unleashed. both of them were fighting , one to keep you safe, one to eat you. it was rare for a ghoul to protect the pesky humans. "LEAVE HER ALONE" kaneki shouted, his kagune going through the mans body.
